When the barber finished with the current customer, he did some sort of barber cape shake thing, and announced "next up." So, I hung my jacket up and took my seat. The barber would ask me what I want and I described it as best I could (keeping in mind i've never gotten exactly what I want, so saying "like I have it now, but shorter and cleaner wouldn't work."), and he got to work. I watched my head transform from random mess to "the head a person has." It was a great experience from a true professional. And just when I thought I was done, I got the straight razor clean around the ears, some lotion, powder, annnnnnd we're done.
