No matter how clearly I explain that I just want a trim, they take it as a command to give me a buzz cut like I'm enlisting in the Russian army. On top of that, the place is absolutely disgusting, hair everywhere, dirty tools, and a smell that lingers like a bad batch of borscht. To make matters worse, the barbers are always vaping inside, puffing away like a bunch of factory workers on a smoke break in a bleak Moscow winter. If they actually listened and cleaned up, maybe it wouldn't feel like I was getting my hair cut in a back-alley barbershop in some forgotten corner of Siberia.

I booked through Booksy for a tapered hair cut for my son for 1:15 pm. We were there at 1pm. At…read moreabout 1:10pm, and elderly lady had a medical episode, in which she became unresponsive for a few minutes, inside the barber shop and as a retired first responder, I went to help out by checking her pulse, requesting an ems and asking for cold water bottle to put on her neck. Once she became responsive, I was talking to her to assess her condition with basic questions. Don P asked if he should start cutting my son's hair and I asked if its okay if we could wait a few minutes until ems arrived. Once ems arrived and stabilized the situation, I was ready to talk with Don P about my sons haircut to which he says "its too late for a haircut because I have other appointments waiting". I looked at my watch which showed 1:34 pm and said "I've been here since 1pm and this lady had a medical emergency" to which he replied that he was taking lunch at 1pm and that she was stable when he asked if I was ready for the haircut. Talk about being callous and completely unaware of the situation (not like he did anything to help except sit in his chair). I get it, hes a barber and not a emt/medical expert but the fact that I stepped up and made sure the elderly lady was conscious and alert for ems should have cut me a slight break. Unfortunately Don P did not see it that way because he had other customers waiting. But everything happens for a reason because we went to Magic Clippers and my son received an amazing haircut which he loved. Now, Magic Clippers has a life long customer whereas Wise Guys lost my business and along with my respect. I would have loved to leave this review on Booksy (since I booked through the app) but because Don P cancelled the appointment, I was no longer able to leave a review for others to see. But shame on Don P and shame on Wise Guys Barber. Shout out to Yorktown PD and EMT for their response and help!.

No haircut, just beard and baby hairs. I definitely got ripped off, I feel like it was because I didn't speak Spanish. I can understand just fine, but speak poorly so I didn't try. Mistake. The owner translated to my barber what I wanted and made a few jokes not realizing I was understanding. It was all in fun but left feeling ripped off. Father and his kid before me both paid $20 for their haircuts before me. There's plenty others around in the area. I should have asked price first. No biggie, vive y aprende.

The shop is actually quite big and very clean. I felt fine and comfortable being the only girl in the shop. The guys were very respectful. My husband is sooooo particular. But, he told Alex that was it, he was a returning customer after the hot shave on the back of his neck. He says that's a sign the place is old school and good :) Alex was so careful and not one hair was out of place. The shape up was perfect. You can't beat experience really. I'm sure all the guys are great in the shop but our experience with Alex was awesome. He was patient and chatty and kind.
