I was quoted almost $900 to snake the toilet. When I said I wasn't paying that much, I was then quoted $506 to snake it through a drain. The snaking took literally 3 minutes, after my wife was told to do several things in another toilet in the house herself. $98 was charged for "products". The only "product" used or provided was Roto-Rooter preventative pipe shield. 1 gallon. Walmart sells it for $20. For what I was charged for a 3 minute job, I could have bought a plumbing snake and a years supply of the "product" I was sold. I'm beginning to think the plumbing community is filled with companies who take advantage of customers and charge ridiculous prices for jobs that don't require the cost.
