We had an amazing time staying at the hotel. Unfortunately there was construction and were unable to go to the magic show experience next door. I did enjoy the 1 magician who was by the pool area for an hour he did close up magic. From the popsicle hot line to the unlimited snacks all night long the three of us felt pampered. They even do your laundry, with a fresh sprig of lavender, fluff and fold if you stay for atleast 2 nights.

Magical! Wonderful team (thanks Kevin!) secure parking, free soft serve, candy, breakfast, and of course the the popsicle hotline at the pool! Huge suites and very comfy beds and great towels, robes... definitely coming back!!

Booked a room here last minute for a trip to Universal. We were greeted by a nice young man that checked us in (didn't get his name) and then another nice gentleman came through the doors with a tray of champagne and apple juice for the kids. He let me know his name was Randy. They let us know that the soft serve ice cream machine and soda fountain was still open but closing soon (we got there a little after 11:00 pm). We all helped ourselves to some on the way to our room delicious! The room was nice and big, pullout couch in the living room and a nice dining area and kitchen. You can use the pool anytime uou just have to observe quiet hours. I was laying in bed looking up the story of this place since I was so intrigued by it. Guys, Randy is the owner! I was so shocked I don't know why. I still don't, he was so nice and gracious I just wouldn't have expected the owner of the place to be there just helping check people in and happy as can be. I told my husband that the only thing I was disappointed in, is that we picked such a nice spot for such a short stay. I definitely want to go back and just be there, rest and hang out.

Flight delayed. Spirits low. But then I remembered... the Emergency Popsicle Hotline exists. Unreasonable hospitality in its finest Yes, it's real. Yes, it's red. Yes, it's at the Magic Castle Hotel. One call, and moments later, a staff member in white gloves delivered a popsicle on a silver tray like I was royalty in a parallel universe where whimsy is policy. This isn't customer service. This is truly unreasonable hospitality. The kind that turns a travel hiccup into a story you'll tell forever. The kind that reminds you: magic is real and sometimes, it's frozen.

What a quaint hotel with it's own quirks. If you're going to the Magic Castle next door, this is super convenient. The two places only share a name -- the hotel is more throwback vintage and not so much magic. But that's ok. If you like quirky, then you'll be a fan of the popsicle hotline, tons of free snacks, free soda and soft serve machines. The room is clean but more quaint and not at all luxurious. And that's ok! If you park, the garage is a tight squeeze! Front desk staff very nice.

PARKING: They make sure to have parking for you! There's a garage that opens with your room card once you check in. Pre check in, there's a small lot and also 20 minutes spaces in front as well. SEATING: The lobby is small and no seating but it's fine because you don't need space to check in/out of your room. They also have a cute little gift shop set up which I had to get something as I checked out. For breakfast in the morning, they do set up multiple tables right outside the lobby near the pool. Really nice! Loved how nice it was set up. SERVICE: Amazing customer service! So many people were so nice checking us in and out. Off the top of my head whose names I remember are Nicole, Kevin, Gina, Johann, and Edgar I believe! They all answered any questions we had and were so nice! I booked the hotel through their website due to the fact you can get an invite to the Magic Castle! The Castle is a quick 2 minute walk but they were so nice to drive us over! They do offer rides back but before Midnight. Also when we checked in, they gave us cups of bubbly to celebrate my partner's birthday! And when we got into the room, they gifted him a birthday card and a full bottle of bubbly!! Extremely nice and totally top notch top service which was definitely appreciated! FOOD: They offered snacks at the front any time of day! But the real winnes are the popsicle hotline, the soda machine and the soft serve machine! Very nice and cute ideas especially for people of all ages! There was also an espresso machine in the lobby as well! There was a complimentary breakfast from 7AM to 10AM which we took advantage of and they had lots of pastries, cereal, fruits, toast, juice, yogurt. Very delicious! ROOM: You can definitely tell the room was a bit older due to the state of the room and the fixtures but all we needed the room for was to sleep in after a long night at the Magic Castle. It was a room and it did its job! I slept fantastic! And you could barely hear any neighbors around unless they were closing their main door because, our room included, it took a good slam to get them closed. The room was very clean and you could tell they made sure it was spotless. The sheets were neatly tucked and nothing out of the ordinary. Plenty of towels and plenty of little essentials like shampoo, conditioner, bar hand soap, and the like. OVERALL: A bit pricey but they do justify why based off what they offer on all levels. Definitely felt welcomed here even if we just stayed the one night. Would come back if needed because it was just so cozy and great here!

If you're looking for a fancy upscale place to stay, keep looking. But if you like the idea of friendly employees who want your stay to be as stress-free as possible, stick around. The free snacks are abundant (see photos), plus free soft serve, free breakfast (continental, in the lobby), free popsicles by the pool, free soda fountain, aaaaand a pass to the super-exclusive Magic Castle next door(-ish) (not free, hahaha). The rooms are a tad worn down and old, but the furniture is fresh, the beds and linens are nice, the showers and bathrooms are...showers and bathrooms, and the whole place is a calm little respite in the middle of Hollywood. We've already started talking about when we might want to return.

This hotel is really a 1950s apartment complex that has been converted into an unexpectedly awesome hotel. The rooms, while spartan and not luxurious, are clean, comfortable, and provide just the right touch for a perfect stay in Hollywood or a visit to the Magic Castle. They have many clever and quite frankly superior amenities, which can enhance your stay, especially if you have children or a family. They have unlimited snacks, which include really good stuff like sour patch kids, and microwave popcorn. And my wife and my kids took full and gratuitous advantage of this opportunity to the point of illness, simply because the snacks were free and unlimited. Of course, the famous pool which has the popsicle hotline, also a highlight of our stay. Our children called the hotline numerous times and staff was always quick to respond. The beds were comfortable as were the pillows and other amenities in the room. Clearly, they have hospitality down to a science at the magic castle hotel. Not to mention the fact that you can get into the private Magic Castle club and experience the magic firsthand during brunch. Five stars all the way, and you would be remiss not to try this for yourself.

    Outside of the hotel.

We stayed for one night at the Magic Castle Hotel since we were attending the Magic Castle. The level of care we got from the staff was excellent. Kevin particularly went out of his was to ensure our stay was perfect. Shout out to the popsicle hotline. Loved being able to call and have them delivered pool side. I highly recommend staying here. Bonus that it is within walking distance to Hollywood Blvd

How in the neighborhood, the town, the city, the county, the state, the country, the continent can a hotel of such perfect caliber be so perfect? Can it be upper management? Can it be the management on site? The staff? The ambiance? The free ice cream? The 911+ popsicle line? The prime location? The free snacks? The toast upon check-in? Nahhhh IT's EVERYTHING! This diamond of a gold gem is impeccable. The service is compatible to what I receive each time I stay at The Ritz-Carlton or The Waldorf WITH THE EXCEPTION of " corporate policy " but in akin with exceptional family one on one service to detail. Notable staff names : Gina, Johann, Kevin, Rod, Nick, and everyone else who has a name badge proudly displaying " THE MAGIC CASTLE HOTEL." Do not question whether or not you should stay here...simply book your room ...stay here then come back again and again and again.

Are you able to check magic castle availability before booking? Or like book over the phone to confirm at the same time without committing?

Hi Lydia, A member of our front desk team has access to let you know if the club has availability, but it is not official until the club actually enters and confirms the…

Has anyone stayed here and not been able to get into the magic castle due to not availability?

I've stayed at the hotel with the magic castle tickets. When you book a room and you indicate you also want the showing, they would share availability based on the number of guests you intend to bring. I think max was 6. Went two months ago.

A lot of the info seems very catered to children/families. Would this be a nice place to stay for two adults without kids? I don't have a problem with kids but if it's full of kids running around and screaming that's not somewhere I'd want to stay.

We have stayed with and without the kids. If you are staying to gain admission to the Magic Castle for a dinner & show or brunch & show, then I would say it's worth staying at the hotel without the kids.…

How far is the magic castle from the hotel? We have elderly people in our party so i want to make sure it is not a high hill,. do they offer shuttle to the castle?

It's very close, but it requires a short walk up a fairly steep incline. Check with the hotel for possible transport.

How far walk to Hollywood bowl?

It's a bit of an uphill hike but do-able! Don't wear high heels! ;-)

I've called multiple times but no one answers, is there an alternate phone number?

I always had a prompt phone answer when I called, but I don't recall the phone number. I believe the Magic Castle gave me the phone number.

Does the pool have too many kids in it in the summer?

We were there in February on a weekend. There was maybe 2-3 kids. It was very nice. And they heat it to approx 80 degrees! So no, not many kids in the pool when we were there

    Is it a free parking?

No it's not but it's reasonable. I think it was $15 per night.

Does this property hold extra amount on your card when you check in for incidentals? If so, how much per day?

I didn't see a hold on my card. Only stayed one night though.

The desk had an outlet built in but one of the power sources was not working. I had to do some work and needed to plug my laptop into the one working plug. But I also needed my cell phone and wanted to keep it charged. I had to unplug the lamp to use the power supply. There is another plug on the nightstand but that would have meant leaving the phone on the other side of the room and I needed the phone while I was working. But because I had to unplug the lamp, I had to work in the dark (it was evening). I can't remember the last time I was in a hotel room that didn't have USB ports so you could charge your phone at the desk and at the nightstand. I could have called the desk and I'm sure they would have given me another room but I was all settled in. Movies; this is the first time I have been in a hotel of this caliber where you had to pay for movies. Certainly I have been in other hotels where you pay for "some" movies, but not all. Usually there is free Showtime or HBO. No, I didn't travel to watch a movie, but sometimes it's nice when winding down in the evening or to have on in the background when working. They did offer some recent movies and even some that I think are still in theaters. Of course I would expect to pay; but most other top named hotels I would be able to watch movies for free. That should have been explained from the beginning. The complimentary breakfast was average at best and definitely didn't make up for the poor service. I was there for a five night stay. First of all, the location is at the edge of Little Tokyo, so there are lots of good eating places. If you feel like taking the Metro rail system to explore Los Angeles, there's a station a couple of blocks away (the E Line will take you west to Santa Monica). Unfortunately, there are a number of homeless that wander around the area, but not too many, especially compared to the Garment District further south. As far as the rooms go, the beds are very firm and comfortable. Air conditioning/temperature control worked well. I was surprised there was no microwave in the room. Just about every hotel has a microwave in every room but not this one. Bathroom was small with only 2 towel hooks; it could have used a couple of towel racks because there was nowhere to hang all the different towels (bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths). WiFi was strong and didn't have to login constantly. Only 3 out of the 4 elevators were working, which made for long waits, especially since the elevator cars were so small. Many of the ice machines were out of order, including our floor (7th), 17, 20, and 21 (construction on 19th). Had to use ice machines on 16 and 18. And there was only an out-of-order sign on the door to the ice machine on the 21st floor after I made a complaint. The parking fee of $49 per day for guests seems excessive, especially when there was a day where the self-parking ran out of space (I think because there was some sort of convention at the hotel) and we couldn't do self-parking. $25 per day would seem more reasonable. The hotel seems to be very popular with tourists, especially those from Japan and Korea who were there to watch a baseball game (Shohei Ohtani is very popular), so it's a bit busy during baseball season. Quite a few tour buses parked out front. And the valet area is very small for pick-ups and drop-offs.

I was in too much of rush to order individual items off the menu, but the premade items were delicious. I took a video of all the food items, but it looks like there is a time limit of 30 seconds for video uploads. That just tells you how many buffet items there were, since it took me more than 30 seconds to record everything!

Absolutely loved our day at the JW Marriott rooftop pool thanks to Resort Pass!…read more Check-in was easy but take note: you must check in at the hotel lobby first to get your key card for pool access. Once there, our cabana was perfectly set up with a personalized name stand--a great touch. The cabana was spacious with comfy seating, a mini fridge (stocked with 3 waters, 3 sodas, and a complimentary fruit platter), plus fresh towels, lounge chairs, and sunscreen available for everyone at the pool's front desk. A couple of logistics to know: parking is valet only at the hotel and it was $65, so I recommend finding a smaller, more affordable lot in the surrounding area if you want to save some money. Staff was so friendly and attentive the whole day. There's a QR code you can use to order food and drinks right to your cabana, which was super convenient. It was a hot day and a really nice gentleman kept stopping by to offer extra ice--such a thoughtful detail. Bathrooms are just outside the glass pool enclosure (key card needed for re-entry), but they're large, spotless, and even have showers. The pool itself is big with a separate jacuzzi and you get stellar views of the LA Live area from the rooftop. Watching the sunset from up there was the perfect way to close out our day. We're officially hooked on using JW for our pool days and will definitely be back!

Really unique hotel. Very responsive staff via text and phone call. I love the aesthetic…read more The vanilla late and the matcha the barista made us during our arrival / check in were incredibly good. That vanilla latte was exploding with flavor, haven't had one that good in years. I am very satisfied with everything. The location, the room design itself and the overall value was incredible. Love this place and hopeful I get to try the restaurant later today if time permits.

For example, one of the light fixtures in my room didn't work. I also had issues connecting to the Bluetooth speaker as one disgruntled reviewer mentioned, but no problem. I just was able to play music through the TV which I don't know why that reviewer didn't think to do that. Also I was fine just playing music on my iPad. The room in terms of design did not disappoint. I booked this place as a staycation option to get work done and with the minimalistic aesthetic and minimal distractions I was able to accomplish what I sought out . Overall, the mini perks like the free waters, which were brands that I normally purchase as well as the welcome drink helped to make up for the minor issues with the room. It's a boutique hotel . I think if I did paid more, I would be more upset and also expect more but given this price point, during low season it's a fair price . Michael, who was working the reception desk and Café was also very friendly and welcoming, and answered my questions to the best of his ability . Overall, the people that work here are really lovely, especially Kofi and Felix , great job hiring managers! I would book again without hesitation for the right price .

4.6/5 -- Apparently I Came to Montebello to Sleep, Eat Waffles and Consider Golf…read more Home2 Suites by Hilton -- Montebello, CA Stay: 9/8/26-9/10/26 This was easily the best hotel I stayed at during my Greater LA trip, which surprised me because I arrived expecting "perfectly functional Hilton." Instead, Home2 Suites apparently decided to operate a small republic of comfort next to a golf course. First, the place understands both introverts and extroverts. You can self-check-in and reach your room with minimal human ceremony, or deal with the friendly staff if you actually enjoy speaking to mammals. The lobby is modern, clean and relaxed without looking like somebody hired an interior designer specifically to intimidate people wearing shorts. Across the street is a pond, palm trees, the Montebello golf course and driving range. If you can get a room facing that direction, DO IT. My window view looked like Southern California had briefly cleaned itself up for a brochure. After temperatures hit roughly 104°F, the complimentary shaded underground parking also became less an amenity and more a humanitarian service. My room was huge, clean and unusually comfortable, with a kitchenette, sink, microwave, genuinely large refrigerator and plenty of living space. The bathroom has a sexy minimalist thing going on, with a roomy glass shower. The bed and pillows? Dangerous. I checked in around 3 PM, got comfortable, started watching TV, skipped dinner entirely and eventually fell asleep around 11:30. I had apparently ceased being a tourist and become a house cat. The TV also allows access to streaming options including YouTube, Apple TV and Max-type apps, although the regular television channel selection is fairly basic. Then breakfast happened. Breakfast runs 6-9 AM, criminal hours for civilization, but this was easily the strongest hotel breakfast of my Southern California trip. Eggs, sausage patties, potatoes, pretzel-style breakfast buns, pastries, bagels, cereals, cheeses including Swiss, Pepper Jack and cheddar, yogurt, fruit cups, oatmeal and a small botanical garden of oatmeal toppings: granola, dried banana, cranberries, brown sugar, almonds and coconut. The oatmeal itself deserves recognition because it remained oatmeal rather than hardening into municipal infrastructure. Then there are the waffles. You can construct your own, and apparently surrender all remaining nutritional dignity by applying chocolate chips and red-white-blue sprinkles until breakfast resembles an elementary-school election celebration. Fresh fruit toppings/compotes were available too. Coffee was strong and hot; juices included apple, orange and strawberry-kiwi. I also appreciated seeing both regular milk and oat milk. The breakfast room is attractive and comfortably seats a decent crowd, although mornings can become LOUD. Apparently several guests awaken at 6:30 AM already possessing complete conversational agendas. The gym is legitimately useful rather than the usual hotel punishment chamber containing one treadmill and a dumbbell somebody stole from physical therapy. There are multiple cardio machines, weight equipment and dumbbells reaching about 75 pounds. Very clean and nicely arranged. The indoor pool area was clean, although visually I found the pool itself rather dainty and uncharming. It exists. It contains water. Congress need not investigate further. Now for the deductions. The walls are thin. One neighbor's phone alarm went off around 5 AM. Another apparently believed television should continue into the wee hours. On the opposite side, somebody snored like an overfed cow negotiating a mortgage. One night around 3 AM I also caught the smell of marijuana from outside. That happened only once, but congratulations to the nocturnal skunk delegation. The shower was the other weakness. Water pressure was maybe 6/10, and after roughly ten minutes the floor began backing up because the drain moved with the urgency of California freeway construction. It took around 15 minutes afterward to clear. Yet despite these quirks, I couldn't punish the hotel much. The room was too spacious, the bed too comfortable, breakfast too good, parking too useful, gym too competent and that golf-course view too peaceful. So mathematically I land around 4.6/5, which I'm happily rounding to 5 stars. I would absolutely stay here again. Next time I'm bringing golf clubs because staring at the Montebello course and driving range from my room without playing it started feeling like unfinished business. Home2 Suites Montebello wasn't perfect. It was better than that: comfortable, useful, occasionally ridiculous, surprisingly peaceful and the kind of place that made leaving feel mildly inconvenient. Thanks for a great stay.

My family and I stayed at Home2 Suites by Hilton LA Montebello for 3 days while we were visiting…read moreSoCal. Our stay landed us on the 6th floor with quite a view. Our room faced the rear of the hotel overlooking the golf course and consisted of the beautiful lake. The room was spacious and clean, and fully equipped with things that make you feel like you're at home: plates, cups, bowls, utensils, + a full sized fridge. Bonus points because complimentary breakfast is offered daily. Hours of operation M-Fri are from 6am-9am. Weekend hours are from 7am-10am. This is absolutely THE BEST complimentary breakfast spread I have ever had the pleasure of taking part in. Granted, most places I've stayed @ doesn't offer this. Here you will find a waffle station with all of the toppings you could imagine, eggs, ham, sausage patties, assortment of cereals, yogurt, fruit cups, and fresh fruit. While I am not sure how great the options are for a vegetarian standpoint but I did notice meatless patties. My complaints: 1)The lighting within the room are positioned horribly. Whether you decide to use the restroom light or the ones located in the dining|kitchen area as a nightlight, they are both extremely bright making it difficult to sleep. My toddler and I struggled to sleep soundly due to us being sensitive sleepers. 2)Someone triggered the fire alarm during our stay. Walking down 6 flights of stairs with a toddler is already tough but adding in groups and groups of other patrons caused for more traffic than I was ready for. Once we made it back to the lobby we were told it was a false alarm. **insert EYE ROLLS emoji** 4 stars overall. Our stay was comfortable and parking was never an issue. Home2 Suites by Hilton LA Montebello comes recommended. I'd stay here again but would probably bring eye masks for myself and my toddler.
