This is strictly for the Magic Box itself and not for the IGN Live I attended. While this place is neat and clean with great security, it lacks the most important thing... WATER! There isn't a single water fountain, water cooler, or anything in here. There's no free water access to fill up bottles or anything. You're stuck paying for water which is a bit rude since I've never been to any type of convention center, building, etc. that lacked a resource so necessary as that. Other than that, the place is in an okay location with parking adjacent to the venue. The air conditioning works and the team they use to do projecting and programming was fine as well. Just wished they had accessible water.

Went here for AFC. The staff in the premises was very professional, the area for the convention was big. At times it got really loud. There were only 2 stalls on the females restrooms, which I thought was going to be an inconvenience but it wasn't. The place was kept extremely clean. The elevators were fast. Parking was a bit small for a venue that accommodates so many people. Every day we were there there was another event with tons of people. We ended up parking 10 minutes and taking an uber to the location.

I attended the King Tut Immersive Experience that was held at Magic Box LA. We parked at the meters directly in front of the venue. Two hours for $4 was better than paying the flat rate in their lot. We didn't plan on being there longer than 2 hours so it worked out for us. The bathrooms were clean and we debated getting something from the food vendors on the first floor. The first time we were there the immersive experience had a technical delay so we were told to come back another day. We had already paid for parking but it wasn't much so we opted to drive into Chinatown to eat. The second time we were there, we were able to go through the exhibit and enjoy it. Again, we parked at the meters, and weren't there longer than 2 hours. It was the perfect amount of time to enjoy the exhibit and the space.

First time here at the IGN LIVE event. The people and staff are really cool and kind. Lots of goodies and eye candies ^-^

Magic Box LA is housed in the iconic LA Mart building now known as The Reef in DTLA. This one-of-a-kind event center has hosted an enormous array of special events and art shows, with customizable event space over three floors, which attracts arts, design, fashion, film, television, advertising, and even tech industries. It has its own private parking lot though events fare could be pricey $20, and I would also suggest using alternative metered parking along the street.

Saw the King Tut Immersive Experience. Definitely would recommend! It's awesome! You learn so much about the young king boy.

Great exhibition on Egyptology. Parking was really easy and right next to building. We enjoyed getting to know about this place.

From years back I remember her saying that she always wanted an LA Wedding, and this place made it happen. Rooftop venue, complete with skyline surroundings, and minimalist luxe table settings. It's a setting that would make any reality tv show or urban pop culture show satisfied. The food was also really delicious- buffet serving by Wolfgang Puck. Everything from the apps to the dessert was perfect. Tips: Cornerspace location above Grammy museum. The entrance is a small door around the corner from Shaquille's. The guests get shuttles up by elevator. I read that the venue had a strict 150 event cap. For a Filipino wedding you can only imagine how difficult that is! The couple kept it adults only. Nearest parking was the underground parking lot, Connected to LA Live. For 5 hours it cost $28-30. The venue can be as simple, industrial, or formal as you want to make it. Restrooms nicely placed around the corner from seating areas.

A few months ago, we were driving all over downtown looking for an urban rooftop wedding venue. (I will refrain from bashing some of the terrible/unresponsive venue coordinators we met). We were losing hope, but randomly stumbled across The Terrace through a Google search. I decided to call and leave a message. Nick called me back within minutes and we scheduled a time to check-out the venue the next day. Our first impression - "wow, this place is cool!" Very urban, very chic, and very LA. And there are many options to do a dual-venue event (Grammy Museum, Novo Lounge, etc). However, I immediately ruled it out because I assumed we couldn't afford the venue. However, we were pleasantly surprised by Nick's willingness to work with us. Through the entire planning process, Nick and his team were so patient, responsive and helpful. He was a great communicator. When certain things got held-up/delayed, he would call just to give me regular updates. Wedding planning is stressful, so I can't thank him enough for his professionalism and responsiveness. Nick is awesome. But it's not just Nick... Ali at the Grammy Museum, Jessica at Wolfgang Puck Catering - everybody was amazing. Very flexible, very responsive, and so kind... The food was amazing, but I'll save that for my Wolfgang Puck Catering review (that Chicken Pot Pie... DAMN!). Our guests were amazed with the venue, especially at night when the city lights came on. The venue speaks for itself. Look at pictures, schedule a visit... it is a no-brainer. And I assure you, the Terrace team is amazing. You are in GREAT hands.

They are able to offer many things in-house that you would otherwise have to find with outside vendors. Their kitchen is top-notch and the bartenders know how to make your guests happy. Due to an Uber address mix-up, we ended up at this location by mistake. Upon arriving near closing time, we just asked if we could come in for a drink as we believed this was a bar: After being told it was a private event, I calmly tried to explain our Uber mistake. Instead of handling the situation professionally, a female staff member completely lost her temper. She started screaming at us, talked to us terribly, and physically aggressed us and telling us to go away. Given the unprovoked hostility and the way she treated us, I strongly believe her behavior was racially motivated because we are not from America. She tried to physically attack us. Her actions were so completely out of line and unwarranted that even several guests from the private event came over to apologize to us for her deplorable conduct. No one should ever be subjected to discrimination, verbal abuse, or violence over a simple misunderstanding. I highly advise avoiding this place, customer service, safety, and basic respect are completely nonexistent here. To make matters worse, I didn't even say a word to provoke her, she completely misdirected her anger at us just because of other people standing nearby. Being targeted, screamed at, and pushed when you haven't done or said a single thing is completely unhinged. She literally screamed right in our faces: "Hell no! Get the fuck out of here!"

Even if you come in the evening or over the weekend, it is worth driving around a bit in case you can get lucky. The space itself is much larger than it appeared from the outside. There was plenty of space. I also loved that they kept some of the old nursery building there and just built around it. It's a great repurposing of the previous business. In all, I would love to check out Rolling Greens again when it is not a special exhibit. I think it would make a great open air event space.

Inside, there was enough room for a stage for speakers, a little backstage area for the speakers to congregate, counter space to serve food and drinks, space to sell merchandise, and an almost enclosed space for a separate session. Outdoors, there was seating for meals and open grassy and first space with tents for any outdoor programming. The event organizers rented some fancy outdoor temporary restrooms, so I'm unsure if Rolling Greens has restrooms at all or if they had restrooms, but it wasn't sufficient for our large gathering. I saw there was also parking available inside the gates that you can close, though for the event I attended, the parking spots were not utilized and we had to take the drawn parking spots outside, find street parking (which wasn't too bad), or do valet.

Edit: I learned after the fact that the venue does not have control over catering so choose your caterers carefully ..ha Considering the price of admission for the gala we attended, the food was disappointingly mediocre. The salad was the highlight for me - it's got that gourmet vibe. The main course of beef and chicken was mediocre and the dessert was a joke. There were 9 people at the table, 6 of them left over 70% of their entrees untouched. That tells you a lot of about their opinion. The bar was crowded but the drinks were decent. The entertainment was much better than the food. The live band was Excellent and the casino was fun. The Majestic provided good service during the event.
