The braided was very rough with my hair. She snagged and pulled. When I asked her to stop, she informed she couldn't comb through the section because she didn't blow dry it. Thankfully, I blow dried at home. I'm also overheard them speaking negatively about customers in French and Igbo. read more

I don't leave reviews often but this place is TERRIBLE. Do not waste your money here. They make you pay before you even see you your hair turns out and don't braid the hair all the way down. It was my first time at the shop and after doing three rows, they stopped and told me I had to pay in cash. A bunch of my pieces fell out within 3 days of leaving the shop and they refused to give me a partial refund. I paid $250 for this style and as you can see from the pictures it wasnt worth $50. I asked for medium size braids and the parts were smaller and braids were literally the size of a straw. My hair looked extremely boneless and stiff. I took it out 5 days after getting it done. Completely unprofessional and unapologetic about their service. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

I came at 9am and didn't leave until 8pm. I asked for knotless small waist length with color 30 and tucked. They said "we can't do that." I was very confused as this is what is offered online. She said they only had 1B hair color so I agreed. Two hours into the service they ran out of hair and had me walk to the beauty supply store in the same parking lot in which I don't understand how they ran out of hair when the beauty supply store is in the same parking lot and why they had the client walking to get hair when I'm the customer. I also don't understand why she just couldn't inform me from the start that they were running out of hair as I could've went to the beauty supply store before she started to get the color I wanted initially. Overall my hair looks nice but I am concerned about how long they will last as the lady who braided my hair braided my hair up to 6 rotations before adding additional hair. I'm not a braided but I don't think that's normal. I've had other braiders add hair after the first rotation. I'll be back in 4 weeks to provide an update. read more

The owner of this shop is the most unprofessional person I have ever met. Yesterday I got my hair braided. I clearly asked for knotless smedium braids and I specified that I wanted them braided to the ends. The first row of braids was done correct so I took a little nap. When I woke up 90% of my braids had knots. I immediately told the girl that was doing my hair. She didn't speak much English so after having several people come look at my braids and try to make me feel like I was crazy, I called the owner. What a waste of time. The first time I went to this shop, my braiders did an awesome job. However, I should have known this place was trash because the owner was yelling at complaining customers the entire. Her favorite line was "I don't care. I already have a 2 rating!" Well today was my turn. The last time I was in her shop she kept joking about her being a Nigerian scammer and I believe her! I really wanted to give her 0 stars but they won't let me. read more

Small/medium size bra strap length $220 I curled them myself with flexie rods. I sat down at 8 am and was done by 12:45 one braider. Only thing is I wish it was more fuller, but I guess that comes with the territory of knotless braids. Other than that, I really like them. I've gotten so many compliments. Will return read more

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Let me start off by saying this is my third time I have been to this salon. All three times I got the same service done. Boho knotless. I recently went last Friday on Valentine's Day and was the first customer there. They were suppose to open at 6AM. No one showed up until 7AM. The service that I got was small/medium boho knotless with boho hair included(waist length) which is $350.00. I got the service done in little over 6 hours. Two people worked on my head. Tony in the front and a young lady in the back. I don't know her name. Once I got home I tied my hair up and didn't take it down until Sunday. When I took it out the bonnet on Sunday I added some moose to it and laid my edges down with some edge control, I started to notice that the boho was slipping out and it usually doesn't do that. I thought maybe it was because they didn't comb the hair out (giving them the benefit of doubt) the very next couple days I started noticing more and more boho coming out. I then took a look at my braids one by one and notice that the boho wasn't tied into the braid like they would usually do it. They just braided the boho into the braid something they didn't do the last two times. I called Sofity and voiced my concerns. She told me to come back into the shop and get it seen about since it's hasn't been a week. I went into the shop the very next day which was today (01/20/2025) and she basically told me it was due to the boho shedding. I told her I have been here two other times and my boho hair has never came out the way it's coming out now. She gave attitude as if I was making up some shit. This was a poor service done and she was very nonchalant about it. Save your money and just get someone else to do your hair somewhere else it was a waste of time and money and remind you I'm 9 months pregnant so it's no way I'm just going back to someone salon and making up shit. Paid too much money for my boho to easily slip out once I run my fingers through it. This picture below is just from this morning. read more

I have been to location times before and did not have an issue. I always bring exact cash and tip who ever braids my hair. This time I spoke to the owner sofiyat who gave me a price of $250. We texted and also spoke on the phone. I cane in on Saturday for my service bright an early at 700am. Upon arrival Toni the only guy who works in there greeted me nicely with a good morning How are you doing? Then asked what are you getting I said small waist length regular braids. He asked what price she told you I said $250. He said ok you want waist length what size I said small. Close to the end of the braid session I was asked to pay and I gave $250. Sofiyat said you are missing $100. I said that how much I was told. They then all started yelling at me and saying how can you expect this to be $250 and brought over the price list. Then I said tell Toni to come over and he said I thought you said $350. At which point sofiyat proceeds to cut my hair. It was so embarrassing and disgusting. I know her and have been here before. It's sad because the old lady doing my hair had no idea what was going on because she didn't speak English. I drive so far to her my hair braided because they'd I'd do a good job in the past but now I will NEVER return. On another note I think that because of the location I feel that they treat the women in this area a certain way and have been allowed to behave this way. I will NEVER wish bad on any of them. Toni nor sofiyat had the decency to say sorry. They made it my fault. read more

they very disorganize and the owner do not know how to communicate and have a nasty attitude

Warning: DO NOT EXPECT YOUR APPOINTMENT TO BE ON TIME!!!!!! Lol! Seriously, they're always late, but the ladies are extremely talented. I'm so proud of Sofiya for opening up her own braid shop. I use to go to her when she worked at another shop and she really is the best. I always either get knotless or tribal braids. She hasn't been able to do my hair the last few times because she's always booked, but the ladies that work at the shop are really good too. I've observed some discrepancies about pricing, so make sure you verify the price before they start on your hair. Knotless braids are $220 for medium sized mid-back braids and $250 for medium sized waist length braids. Small waist length knotless are about $300. The price includes the hair. Taking into account the amount of time they spend doing braids and the execution of the braids, the prices are reasonable. I honestly didn't want to even write a review because I don't want all of the appointments to get booked up, but I'm not a hater. Sofiya and the ladies are awesome! read more

So I've been to Magic Boss Braids a few times now and I've loved my results each time. I made the mistake of going on Saturday when I knew they would be extremely busy, but listen they still were efficient and thorough. Sofiya is the owner, she is always fun and professional. I LOVE me some Sofi honey and I always have a good time. She knows that the work of her braiders represents her business and treats it as such. I can only speak on my personal experiences and I can tell you she made them redo a few (like 3) braids because they were too big or parted wrong. Now, I have ALOOOOOTTT of hair, so at one point there were 4 braiders on my head including Sofiya. I will tell you these reviews were here before I went, but I found her on ig and the work spoke for itself. Don't let them reviews deter you from going if you're thinking about it, go and have your own experience!!!! It's definitely worth it!!! read more

I went to this shop based on Instagram videos and stories posted on Sofiyat48 IG page. Boy, did I make a mistake! Please be sure to check your hair several times during the braiding process, meaning, check your parts especially in the back. I got my hair braided at Magic Boss, and unfortunately I had two individuals with limited experience braiding my hair. My braid parts are uneven, different sizes, and honesty it looks like a beginner did my hair, along with pieces of my hair not braided, which is embarrassing when paying $300. A middle school child could of did better than this. For $300 you expect quality work. I reached out to the owner to rectify the situation, she asked me to come back to the shop Sunday at 9:00am so she could redo my hair, but she had me waiting for almost 3 hours and she never showed up, so I left around noon. The braiding industry is too saturated for this level of unprofessionalism and work. I will never go back. read more

Very classless group of women. Filthy inside. They eat and talk with mouths full of food. No one told me how long my hair would take- it took8 hours for small/med knotless and I left the salon with soaking wet braids- dripping wet because they didn't want to dry the ends - they talk about you in their language- they didn't know I could understand them- they were yelling the whole time . If I could leave no stars I would. The first time I came here, there was a dead animal of some sort in the bathroom area. I know because I saw the braiders and how scared they were. They went and got someone to help them get it out. They opened the back door and the guy took care of it. The second time I went, I waited for over 2 hours when I had an appointment at 2am. I told myself that was gonna be the last time I came. But I loved my hair. The third attempt was/is my last attempt. I had an appointment for my daughter and I at 9am. The owner herself was locked out of her own building. So as I go in, I told the owner Sofiya should could start on my daughter first so my husband would get her when she was finished. Once she finished with my daughter she started on me. I showed her the braids I wanted because this time I wanted color. I showed her the length and size I wanted and she quoted me a price that was more than what I paid last time. She said well maybe they gave you extra. I said ok fine. She told the braider next to her, "see what I mean." So at this point there are about 4 other ladies waiting who had appointments as well. Sofiya was mad that the other braiders didn't show up for work. So once she started on my hair after the first braid I asked her if she were going to add more of the darker color in because it was too light. She said yeah that's what I'm doing. So by the 3rd braid she was braiding it the exact same way with the color the same way. So I asked her if she mind I'd rather go back to dark colors because this isn't what I asked for. She got loud with me and told me if I needed to change the color then to come back another day. I told her if I had to come back I wasn't gonna come back. She was like no no I got people waiting for appointments. I said Ms. Sofiya I don't wanna hear about no appointments when last time I came I waited 2 hours for an appointment and today I had to wait because you didn't have the keys to your own business. She the louder she got with me, I told her I wasn't gonna argue with her because that's not how you do business and I wasn't gonna argue in front of my child. So the braider next to her asked what I was looking for and I told her and she wanted to assist. So I asked her if she worked anywhere else because she had better customer service. Sofiya was even angrier and yelled at me even louder. She told me I was being disrespectful to her salon by asking the braider if she worked somewhere else. I told her I apologize but she seemed to have understood what I was requesting. I yelled back and told her she wasn't about to keep talking crazy to me. And that I wasn't going to pay $250 for some braids I didn't like!! So I paid her for my daughter's hair and left. I will also add that when I used the bathroom it was absolutely disgusting. There were gnats and everything all over the place, no soap. And when i flushed the toilet water from the toilet literally spilled over the top of the toilet. Avoid going to this place. Sofiya has no respect for anyone. read more

very disrespectful !!! rude and be talking mess in their language.! they got mad because one lady messed up my hair and I didmt like it. When i first came in , I asked can they do a hair just like the pic, they said yeah. The lady got to the end of my hair in the front after she finish braiding them down. And i was like, this is not what I asked for. I came in 7 in the morning and left at 10 that night. i was in the hair for 14 hours. not one was they considered. dont go to them! they messed up my hair on my birthday, cursed me out, and had attitudes. Didnt trey to accommodate me not once. i still had to pay $400. The onwer came in at 9 yelling, talking about we dont do this hairstyle. And started talking smack. The only lady that was nice was Fatimah. She got into with the lady that messed up my hair. She told her she made a mistake and now she have to fix it. She tried to cut my braids out instead of taking it out and redoing the ends. Fatimah came and did it for me. She keep asking for help on my hair when she didnt even start on my hair. The man tony was mad because I called him a liar. He told them that i never showed him a pictur. when I showed them multiple times. read more

They make you pay Cash before your hair is done so you have no battle to fight . Made me wait and wanted the same girl to re-do my hair and I told her NO. I need someone else . 1st let me start out by saying I drove 1hr and 45 min to get here. many braiding salons before hand and thought I made an appointment with the owner. I walked in and a lady was sitting there waiting on me (not the owner) needless to say..... A MESS!!!! I reached out to the owner to let her know I was unhappy with the way my hair turned out and she apologized and told me to come back in. Once I gt there they were packed with clients and were very impatient with me and didn't want to fix my braids even when I offered to pay. I left & will never go back. Went to this place twice, both times I was told to be there at 9am. They were late!!! Both times I wanted knotless braids at the bottom and a middle part tribal braids SOMETHING THEY ADVERTISE!!! It's not like I wanted them to recreate someone else's work. Both times my part wasn't centered!!! The first person braided wayyyy too tight, I had bleeding in my scalp. The owner acknowledged and said she'd correct it. But she got it wrong too and got mad as if it was my fault!!! Don't waste your time/money here!!! I normally don't post reviews but they're horrible. read more

I had a good experience and my hair was really nice. I had to wait a little while for the owner but once she arrived. She was quick!!

They are talented, but very unprofessional and don't care anything about people. I drove one hour to get there, waited 30 minutes for Sofiyat because she was doing someone hair when I get there. When she was done with the person hair, she told me she has to go and she don't know when she would be back, but it would be soon. As I waited trying to figure out if I should drive a hour home (and really trying to wrap my head around what she just told me) or wait since I already drove a hour, she called 30 minutes later and said can I come back tomorrow. I literally drove 2 hours, over 50 miles, waited 1 hour, just not to get my hair done. I felt totally disrespected. They really don't care about people or time. They assume that since they do knotless braids good they can treat people any type of way. They feel like if they lose that person service their someone else will come in wanting knotless. It's really sad. Very very unprofessional people. read more

where do I begin. they are extremely disrespectful to black woman. if you have a question or complaint about your hair they will immediately get offended. Sophie the owner is quick to say just take it down and let her go. They get loud and upset when you should be able to let them know how you want your hair. no respect for customers who are spending there money. Roaches were crawling around, babies on the hip so it's a study stop and go. now down to the braiding. I was referred to the shop and to ask for Sophie the owner. when you get there they will tell you everyone does the quality of Sophie which is not true. I understand Sophie can't do everyone hair, However they need to make sure everyone is trained to braid at least good. no one is coming in to pay $300 for some bad braids. I coul believe how she was speaking to this older lady. I waited and of course Sophie she couldn't do my hair . my hair was horrible and my middle part was too far back. two ladies were working on my hair and the back was nice but the front was a hot mess. braids were loose and bigger than the back and I paid for small knotless.I got there at 10am and it was almost 8pm at this time. I was highly upset in which I called Sophie (because she had left) and she came back up there to braid the front two rows over. I felt like my hair was just thrown together. when she got there you couldn't understand what they were saying because they spoke in they're language. proceeded to tell me it was nice and what I'm complaining for. I felt like i wasted my money. you pay before there finish so it's too late to be upset. At this point you just hoping it can be fixed and looks better. AWFUL SERVICE, waited 7 hours to finally be seated even though my appointment was at 10am. They were short staffed yet this was unknown to me until they told me 3 hours after I have been waiting. Sofiya, the owner, was rude and read my texts then proceeded to tell me "you don't have to text people about it I don't have to do your hair if you don't want me to". I later asked another braider when my hair would be done and she told me "you're lucky that you even have two braiders on your hair". I paid her $220 in cash, even with all of the trouble and disrespect I faced that day, then had a problem with zelle and they held me hostage at their store because I didn't want to give them an item to go to the shell gas station across the street to get $30 that I owed.
