Before the appointment, she told me a wash would be an additional $30, so I opted to wash and prep my own hair. I went ahead thinking the quality must justify the price. The appointment took about 7 hours for medium mid back length. At first, I couldn't figure out what felt off about the style, but once I got home I noticed several twists in the back were already unraveling. I reached out and she offered to fix them, which I appreciated. People pointed out how bulky it looked and the parting was not well done. When I returned, she did adjust the middle part. I also asked if some of the twists could be combined to reduce the volume because it felt like I had a helmet on. She wasn't very open to that and said it wouldn't look good. She said the frizz in the back was due to my hair texture and that there was nothing she could do about it. She mentioned she needed to cut but did not want to without permission. I absolutely respect that, but as a client I expect to be informed while I'm in the chair so I can decide what works best for me. The twisting itself was decent, but the style is too heavy, the parting is inconsistent, and the frizz will likely cause the style to look worn out too quickly. On top of that, the uneven parting makes the style substantially less versatile when it comes to styling options. I ended up paying $370 with tip, and in my opinion this style should not have cost more than $280 even at the high end. I have to wear it half up and half down just to make it manageable. She mentioned I should have said something because the style would have been cheaper and faster. I told her I didn't know I had to tell her about the parts. I'm curious what the cheaper price would have been because a lash was getting box braids in the shop and told me she was quoted $300. Maybe it was a miscommunication, but I have never had to specify that I wanted neat, square parts. That has always been a standard expectation with braiders I have gone to in the past. Adonai was kind and did agree to fix some things, but overall I am disappointed and would not book again at this price point for this quality.

She responds quickly and in a very thorough manner. She also does a great job advising her clients on various things regarding the services they are interested in as well as how to care for their braids after service. For my braids she created a custom 3 color mix. I'm so happy I trusted her; my braids turned out beautiful. Honestly better than I could have imagined. Growing up, I was no stranger to African braiding salons. But as I got older, the tightness and discomfort pushed me toward Black American braiders. Unfortunately, that came with its own trauma: sky-high prices, inconsistent booking, and losing an entire day in someone's chair. I was over it. I knew I needed to return to what I knew--the efficiency and reliability of African braiders. I arrived early on a Monday morning, the first client of the day. I was greeted by one of the braiders and instructed to call the owner, Flower, to confirm my style. I requested medium knotless braids, waist-length, with a custom color mix (1B/30/27). Flower quoted me $250, a fair and honest price considering the style, length, and color. Two braiders worked on me--Sophie and another braider whose name I didn't catch, but it starts with an M based on the sign-in sheet. The shop was clean and everything ran smoothly. My braiders were initially hesitant about the color mix, but once they saw it finished, they loved it and so did I. The braids ended up being a little longer than I anticipated, and the whole process took about 5.5 hours. For the length and quality, I have zero complaints. The braids are neat, the parts are clean, and most importantly, I left without feeling like my scalp was on fire. Tight? A little, but nothing unbearable. Painful? No. I'll definitely be back again. My only issue was with the handling of the braiding hair. At times, the hair would fall to the floor and if it was picked up quickly, I understood. But sometimes it lingered, was stepped on, and still used. I did refuse some hair that had been stepped on, but I don't believe it was thrown out. That's something I'd encourage others to be mindful of. Make sure the hair being installed in your head is being cared for properly. I called the shop and apparently I was speaking to Flower but didn't know until reading other reviews on Google. I called around 8:50pm asking about getting my hair braided. I sent pictures and was told prices for both pictures Flower stated that my hair could be braided tomorrow morning I explained to her that I had to work tomorrow and didn't want to be late for work she stated I could come tonight and I asked what time she said 9:30pm. I called her on the way cause it stated cash only on Instagram but I found this shop on Google. I stopped at the ATM machine on the way there . I got there and the lady asked what did I want and I said a braided ponytail and she said that would take to long and she couldn't do it tonight I showed her the other style and she said my edges were not thick enough although they were a few weeks ago when I had Goddess braids plus I leave my edges out. I was very upset and called Flower the owner and she took on accountability for her actions. She tried to pretend like she tried to call when we just talked ten minutes or less before arriving to the shop when I called on her BS instead of apologizing or trying to make things right I got more excuses. Flower stated that I don't understand the lady that was there was tired and she was trying to accommodate me by saying that I could get my hair done tonight. I just did 8 hours and I was tired to but since Flower stated my hair could be done tonight I came tired and all. Flower the owner is a liar and very unprofessional and took on accountability for her actions! If this is your shop you should have called to make sure someone could do my hair prior to saying yes. I am percent positive that this yes to doing my hair was only motivated by money and not really caring about your employee because again you could have called her. This is horrible customer service and you didn't even attempt to call me to let me know things changed or even mentioned it to me when I spoke to a few minutes before arriving! I went in for a loc retwist, which they said they could do with no problem. It took 3 hours, and when they were finished, there was essentially no retwist. The roots were still the same, and there were no parts in my hair. After I explained that the service wasn't done correctly, they had someone else redo it. That took another hour, bringing the total to 4 hours for a wash, retwist, and style. And after all of that, they still tried to charge me an extra $10 at the end. Overall, very disappointing experience. If you're looking for a loc retwist, I would strongly recommend going somewhere else.
