My kids have been taking from Maggie for over 3 years, and they love her! She is patient and has guided them well on their beginning music journey. They're 10 and 13 years old. Maggie's playing and teaching is amazing, and more experienced players would also benefit from her expertise. When we first met Maggie, she asked my twin girls to play so she could evaluate them. After the first time they played she thought that perhaps they were nervous and ask them to play again. Afterwards, she calmly and with a smile said that it will take time but that she could fix their posture, arm, wrist, finger position, and weak finger strength. Just want a parent wants to hear. True to her words, she has helped them improve in all areas! She also nudged us over time to switch to a "real piano," even though we had a nice weighted keyboard. I finally broke down and bought an upright piano so she wouldn't nudge anymore. Best decision we ever made! The sound, the feel and most importantly the finger strength & stamina gained was so rewarding. As for teaching piano, Maggie is patient in explaining, persistent in her expectations, and honest in her assessments. She picks great piano books for my girls to learn and allows them to pick any song or piano piece they want to learn for her recitals. You will definitely want to record your child performing because you'll cherish it forever! My young son has now joined his sisters in learning piano from Maggie. I would say this ; she is patient, kind, knowledgeable. Always pleasant and professional. She has been teaching my 5 year old and before her I went to another teacher and was told that 5 is too young to learn however I knew that was not true and Maggie has been a blessing. She's progressing even when she's not practicing at home. Most importantly she has the confidence that she thinks she's a master pianist. It's important to build self confidence along with skills. Mrs Maggie is amazing! My 8 year old is very shy and can take criticism the wrong way but Maggie was very patient and shows a lot of excitement when she would get the notes right. Teacher Maggie is a really awesome piano teacher! I am one of her adult students but she is works with both kids an adults. She is friendly and patient and takes her time to teach you the basics and the correct form. Her lessons are laid back and fun, but at the same time she is serious about her students' improvement. She is a perfectionist so she wants your pieces to be played well before moving on, which I really like. At the same time she is also flexible in terms of students' needs, I am studying classical music with her but there are others who are learning some pop music.
