I initially gave this park 2 stars, but then, I remembered the adorable kitties, which frankly deserved another star.
But really, Magallanes Interchange "Park" is quite sad. Well, after all it is beside EDSA, and nothing green and lush can thrive in EDSA's pollution. Though I really admire the efforts here. There are some fountains, a few benches, some grass, bushes, and small trees. However, I personally do think that for something to be considered a 'park' the ratio of grass to cement pavement should be at least 50:50. This is not the case here.
If you're a heavy South-to-Makati commuter such as myself, you have most likely passed by this park on your way from EDSA-Magallanes, the overpass above Osmeña Highway, down the other side of the park (where the kitties are!) and to either the jeepney terminal to PRC or to Alphaland Magallanes MRT. YES, that's the 'park'. You will agree with me on this one--this park could use a couple of improvements! More greenery? How about some flowers? More lighting? Some hanging vines? Truly this park won't be a venue for chichi weekend markets or any of that sort, but this park has some serious potential!
Also, as you may have guessed I am writing this review so I can post photos of the park's adorable (stray) cats! Sometimes I see this old man feeding them. Sometimes they're just there near the benches or the grass, chilling like the cats that they are. They're quite friendly! read more
