Overall, we love having a fence…read more We really wanted a certain aesthetic, and Elyria Fence seemed to be one of the only places that offered it. I've always heard great things about this company too. And anytime we drove around a neighborhood and saw a fence we liked, it was always an Elyria Fence! So we felt pretty good when hiring them. We have never had a fence installed before, so perhaps our experience was very typical. I am unsure. But communicating with this company was very difficult. We couldn't get people to call us back. We had to work really hard to give them thousands of dollars haha. Then they came with almost no notice at all! Luckily we were home! They were very quick to do the installation after that. I was really surprised! The overall fence looks really nice and it was the look I was going for, but the details are sloppy. After the crew left, the yard was completely trashed. So we had to spend time leveling the ground and picking up random pieces of material. There were giant gaps where the fence started on each side where a small dog would easily get out, which was one of the reasons for the fence in the first place! (You can see in the two pictures the big gaps and the pieces they used to try and patch it to make the gaps smaller) The one piece by the tree is a complete eye sore. Im not sure how they could have done it better, but it looks Jimmy rigged and crooked. (See the pictures of the inside by the tree and the one from the other side where the bottom beam no in line with the rest) The type of wood seems cheap, at least for the poles, because it already splitting pretty badly, there are chunks missing, and it's very ruff in a lot of areas (See the HUGE CHUNK that's missing from one of the posts as an example) We also weren't told any information for proper fence care. We had later learned from out of research about having to wait a while before staining it. We're still in the process of doing that! (You can see in the one picture the weathering after one year without the stain compared to the section we've already stained. ) We tried calling a few times, but couldn't get a response. And the one we did get said they'd call us back with information but they never did. Overall, I can't say I recommend this company, but again, we don't have any reference point on a fence company either so it's hard to compare. But like I said, we really enjoy having a fence and this style was exactly what we were looking for. I'm not completely unsatisfied, I mean I still have three stars! It's just, we spent over $10,000 on our fence and the overall experience did not feel like we got what we paid for. (But apparently everything was absolutely flawless, according to the reply on Google from the company so I guess I'm just crazy? lol way to gaslight ) I feel like the defensive, condescending responses to their customers on Google are all you need to know before booking with this company. I regret supporting such a horrible human being if that's the way customers are treated! Shame on them! I feel almost dirty for giving my money to a person who responds in such a way! However, the workers who were at my house were very sweet, I hope they get treated better than the customers do. (PS They can't find me as a customer and have "no idea who I am" because my husband is the one who paid / made the arrangements. lol )

We reached out to Wiler Fence and Nate, the owner responsed quickly providing a great solution to our project on a large slope with a competive quote. They completed the work, cleaned up everything, emailed us pictures, and sent an invoice. Talk about easy. This could not have gone smoother and we were very pleased with the results. The second was a repair on another project. This fence was already in place and one that was not installed by Wiler Fence Company. We had a leaning fence. Nate provided a quote over the phone, explaining what might need to be done. When the work was done, we called Nate to ask why we did not get an invoice even though he completed the work. Nate explained he was able to repair it without the need to replace any of the posts and there would be no charge. Wow! Needless to say, we will be recommending Wiler Fence Company to everyone we know and will using them on any future new fence installation. In summary, compeitive pricing, great work, easy to busines with and first class customer service!

Horrible Experience! RUN!!! I do NOT recommend this company at all!!! Worst experience ever!!!…read moreKevin, the owner seemed great. He assured me when I told him the reason we were getting the fence was to keep our dogs secure in the yard we would have no issues when they were done! Haha my dog bolted out the back corner the first time we let them out ! They came out and put plastic clips from the chain to the ground in some spots. Then, a week after install we started having plumbing issues. It turned out they put a pole right through our sanitary line! I provided pictures of the fence pole through my plumbing and Kevin told me it wasn't them ! Eventually they took care of that and paid the plumber! Hell of a 3 weeks there!!! Back to dogs getting out, it was of course my fault then that they busted the pipe so all I got was attitude from here. Dog got out again, this time the side and those plastic clips did nothing! Mind you, this is no Little dog, she's 50lbs. In addition, she is bolting out, no digging this happens in seconds!!! When I contacted the owner, Kevin, he told me it was my fault for choosing black chain link fence and, he said he told my husband last time if the clips didn't work we would need tension wire or bottom rail!!! Mind you, this was AFTER install! If I needed this why wasn't it offered during the quote?! Umm I hired a supposed professional to tell me what I need to keep my dogs secure and safe. I was told I would receive that. No one ever told me the black chain link would not keep my animals secure, if that was the case I would have chose a different product!!! Now I'm stuck with 8k worth of useless chain link fence installed that serves ZERO purpose and have basically told to pound salt!!! So No I don't care what price this company quotes you, run!!! Run fast and go with any other company that will stand behind THEIR work and supposed lifetime warranty might mean something!!!

A sales man came out with extensive experience and showed me lots of options if I wanted to replace my fence. However, the honesty of this company showed me that he was not trying to price gouge me. He stated he could fix my existing fence replace current panels that were custom made and fix the gate and utilize different material that would hold up better. Without changing the look or the function. An ideal situation. I think it's important to note I called multiple companies and many of them very local to my area on the east side. And they all wanted to fully replace my fence for thousands of dollars. I was under the impression that this was going to be necessary before American fence came out. I wanted to be informed and understand what I was dealing with. AmericanFence was honest and fair about what needed to happen. I am glad to know a company like this exists. It's been 4 years and I refer and positively share my experience as they came on time, did the job, cleaned up amazingly, and I have had any problems with my fence in any way 4 years later.
