Once upon a time I had an empty fridge and a belly to match. A take-away menu was calling to me from atop the fridge and before I knew it, I was dialling away.
My chicken korma was delicately sweetened and my peshwari naan had a nice mix of coconut, sultana and almond. It was a nice take-away but not a memorable meal.
The next morning I woke up for work and threw together a pack lunch of the previous night's order. I figured it'll do, there's nothing else. When lunch came around, I wander to the park to breath fresh air and have a bite.
Then it hit me, Madras is amazing....COLD! It was absolutely mouth-watering and bordered on orgasmic. I couldn't get enough and even temporarily filtered my calls so I could savour the last morsels.
The moral of the story is, never judge a meal at first bite, there is a food phenomenon behind every corner, if you're just willing to seek it out. read more
