I'm not usually a fan of any downtown antique stores - as they're usually overpriced or expensive and there's usually the same old stuff in 'em. When my SO and I were walking around downtown Athens, we decided to stop into Madison's. This place is huge. The employees are friendly. And they have everything from old buttons/pins to records, vintage books and toys. Just tons of stuff. the best part about Madison's is the prices are definitely resonable. If you come in with a couple of bucks, you'll be able to find something to buy. read more

I bought a great chiffarobe to use as a pantry. It was only $150. Missing a shelf and had holes drilled in tje back for an entertainment center. But that didnt detract from its beauty. Had original hardware too. Lots of interesting stuff. It is the mall type set up. They close PROMPTLY at 5. Would have given them a 5 had they let me use their restroom of which I was in dire need. read more

The owner was present and warm as were the sales associates. We were so impressed with just the atmosphere and warmth of the business that we came back for my husband to have ball barons, placed in a heavy diamond and gold ring as well as to have appraisals done on our other jewelry. I had just bought nice little handmade earrings and then I saw this incredible chair. It was made by a local mountain area artist, talk about having character. And they delivered it, very kind considering how big it is. $250 was nothing for such an individual piece of work.
