Blowing the lid off of one of Madison's best-kept secrets, likely to my own detriment. Do you want…read morea great massage for $35? This clinic for the Madison College massage program is your answer. Appointments are hard to come by and you are limited to four per semester if you're lucky enough to snag them, but you get a full hour in a relaxing environment. I haven't had a ton of massages, but both of the students I've seen over the last year have blown the professionals I've visited out of the water for half the price. When I first signed up for a massage here I pictured a more clinical/classroom-like setting. In reality, they've really tried to make it as much like a typical massage place as possible. There's lots of soothing music, muted shades of tan and taupe, wall sconces, baskets of decorative knick-knacks, etc. Where things get different is that you may have an instructor pop in on your session to observe or offer guidance; I've had this happen once in six visits (but that was when I was super jacked up and was probably one of the more challenging cases of the day). You also fill out an evaluation form after, but that takes only a minute or two. I've come in seeking more therapy than relaxation and the therapists I've had have been game for for concentrating on my problem areas instead of sticking to a full body massage or just integrating what they're working on that week. My most recent trips have had some nice practice perks like aromatherapy and hot towels at no additional cost. Due to the lower cost I was able to visit several times with only a couple weeks in between and build on the work done for some huge knots to the point they've almost disappeared. I'm sharing this info because they do a great job, but I also will fight you for an appointment so get your dialing finger ready.

Actually, worse than not good. I was told to come 20 min. early, waited 10 min. to be tended to,…read more waited another 10 min. for therapist to come, taken to room, left to undress, and waited nearly 15 min. for her to return. that is just for starters. She appeared to be a little zoned out on something, eyes at half-mast. Her communications confusing and unclear. I have had MANY massages in my life, swedish, Esalen, energy, etc. ( Ihave also practiced as a massage therapist. ) This was none of those. It was unbalanced, incoherent, superficial, and cursory. She ran out of time and gave my left leg a couple of swipes, and that was it. I seriously wonder how she could be certified. She later apologized to me, saying she had made a mistake and I got the wrong massage from the wrong person ????? Overall, place is dingy, dark, smells musty, is not at all inviting, does not come across at all as a professional or well-run place. I would never go back there, nor suggest anyone else go there.

PLEASE NOTE: This is the HAPPY FEET SALON in E.Towne mall…read more I would like to start by saying that my daughter and I have frequented this massage business many , many times over the last 8 years. Today we had the worst experience with the woman that always appears to be running the place. My daughter and I have our preferred therapists and we wait until they are able to attend to us. The woman there has a technique that neither of us care for. Today, she came in to my daughters massage room and started arguing with the therapist that was tending to my daughter claiming that he "took" her customer and then began massaging my daughters legs and feet for about 10 minutes. My daughter was very uncomfortable with this behavior. At the end when we were paying they added on an additional 25.00 for her "services" that she hadn't requested. I was unaware of the issue until after they charged my card! They insisted that this was accurate! There is a substantial language barrier at this business and they are constantly trying to "upsell" services while performing the massage. Be prepared to be firm with your responses. We adore the therapists that we are familiar with and they do an awesome job. Both are male. We advise you to steer clear of the woman there she is very aggressive and her skill is negligible.

Although not a "spa" atmosphere, they are too the point and direct with the services that they provide and deliver. Only 4 stars just for the physical set-up of the location, i.e. not complete privacy, talking can be overheard and the "doors" to the rooms are merely curtains not affording 100% privacy.
