Not only are Allison Jackson and Pineapple Productions organized, creative, and experienced at planning weddings, but they are excellent at working with all different types of people who have varying opinions on what a "wedding" should. Allison calmly dealt with differing opinions between family members and bride and groom and came up with creative and effective solutions that made everyone happy. Allison and Pineapple Productions also really helped me and my husband plan the wedding on a limited time schedule. After getting a feel for our style / vision, Allison would use her extensive knowledge of the D.C. wedding industry and narrow our choices up front so that the choices of photographer, florist, venue, etc., didn't seem so overwhelming. In the end, we ended up with a venue / vendors that we were extremely happy with without having to spend loads of time upfront researching, and we know we couldn't have found them without Allison's help / insight! These companies charged the same amount as Pineapple, or more, and don't have nearly as good of a reputation as Pineapple. We chose Top of the Town (TotT) as the site for our 40th Wedding Anniversary Party. Our party was…read morefabulous. First, the location is fantastic. The Iwo Jima Memorial is directly opposite the Top of the Town building. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out over the Potomac River and have views of all the significant buildings in Washington, DC. The inside is spacious - we had 92 guests seated at ten tables, and there was plenty of space for the dance floor, drinks table, and dessert table. We also took advantage of the outside patio because we had great weather, and after sunset, many of us went outside to watch the full moon rise. Catering was provided by Genesis Delight Catering, a company that has experience serving food at TotT and knows the kitchens. The event staff at the TotT are experienced and friendly and will ensure that your event is the best it can be. We enthusiastically recommend this event space. Sheridan Dalier, the event coordinator at TotT, provided generous assistance before our event when we were in the planning stages. She was friendly, experienced, and very helpful. When we learned we could hire Sheridan to help us during our party to take care of the final set-up, last-minute fixes, and any surprises, we gave an enthusiastic "Yes, please." For example, she ensured the audio-visual system had the correct cord to show our slides. She kept track of the gifts we received. She handled questions and requests from our guests. As the evening's event coordinator, Sheridan's help was important, making a great evening even better! We enthusiastically recommend Sheridan Dalier's services as event coordinator.

After signing on with Alexandra of Alexandra & Co., there's no way either of us can imagine having planned the wedding without her! I'm completely serious: she competently handled all details from start to finish, mundane to significant, while keeping us in the loop at all times. We presented our vision for a cocktail/small plate reception to her; she in turn recommended a caterer who offered us a proposal that required zero revisions. She lined up our appointments, interviewed vendors, kept track of our budget and was always expense-conscious; she did all of the above thoughtfully, efficiently, and in a timely fashion. Never once did she push vendors or ideas on us; she let us envision our wedding the way we hoped to have it and she executed it all brilliantly. She was always available, responded same day to emails and phone calls, and we found ourselves marveling at how stress-free the process had become! We were able to fully enjoy our wedding day, an uncommon occurrence among newlyweds consumed with the planning process, because she had taken care of everything. I cannot imagine navigating the minutia that come with planning a wedding without Alexandra. Our guests and family raved about the wedding - we credit Alexandra for working her magic. When I first met with Jennifer and she explained all of the things that she takes care of, it became immediately obvious that her services would be invaluable to us on our wedding day and that she would be providing much more than simply "day-of" services. In fact, she became involved nearly a month before our wedding! With Jennifer as our day-of coordinator, we were supremely confident that any hiccups would be handled and that we could fully enjoy our big day. And that definitely turned out to be the case! From one of our groomsmen passing out in the middle of our wedding ceremony to pictures running late and guests showing up who hadn't RSVP'd (and I'm sure other things that we don't even know about!), Jennifer made sure that the wedding continued seamlessly and virtually uninterrupted. In addition to being easy to work with, Jennifer is professional, extremely responsive, experienced, full of suggestions, and thinks about all of the little things that so many brides and grooms overlook. Her level of detail is exceptional and was noted not only by us, but our other vendors and our guests! (Consider, for instance, that she put together a 12-page timeline for our wedding weekend that highlighted who needed to be where and what needed to be happening at each moment--amazing!). It is clear that she puts a tremendous amount of work into every wedding that she's involved with. Her value, in our opinion, cannot be overstated. Park on the left and walk along the back of the house to come up on a deep landscape of rolling hills with sparse fall colored foliage peaking behind some. Separating the property is an almost never-ending white fence that sweeps off and to the right. 2 large wide trees stand close to the house on the left. The brick walk that leads you to the back of the mansion follows into an almost covered bridge style gazebo which then escorts you into a large heated permanent white tent with a light wooden floor and tiny strung globe lights that create outward rays from the top center, almost 20 feet up. Damn, this venue is as cute as a muf! I wanna have my wedding up this in B. At the ceremony space that stands in front of one of the large hawthorne trees, are 2 brightly colored shining barrels for massive floral arrangements to hug the happy couple. Beside the tent is a raised brick patio where guests can enjoy a cocktail or 5, and if you step into the house, you'll find treasures of those described on Portabello Road #BedknobsAndBroomsticks My eye catches an old cabinet-style victrola, a baby grand piano, and rugs from around the world. From early in the morning, the vendors had no clear direction for hair, makeup, and styling all ran late, and guests started noticing how disorganized everything felt. People were literally asking, "Where's the planner?" because Annika was nowhere to be seen. Later that night, a fire broke out in the reception area, and things quickly became chaotic. Smoke filled the room, and guests were panicking, but no one from Revere was around to take control or give any instructions. The bridal party and a few guests ended up stepping in to calm people and guide everyone to safety. It was terrifying, and we were all shocked that the event planner was missing during something that serious. Thankfully no one got hurt, but the lack of communication and leadership made the whole experience stressful and disappointing. For a planner who was supposed to coordinate the biggest day of someone's life, Annika's absence and disorganization were completely unacceptable. I wouldn't recommend Revere Event Planning and Design based on what I witnessed that day.
