We have a 2 & 5 year old, which we make sure behave in stores. We kept them away from the breakables and found a little children's corner where they could color. My daughter saw a little stuffed reindeer and picked up 2 to play with as she's obsessed with Rudolph. My son started playing with them as well. All while my husband was right there watching and my parents and myself watching a little farther away. My son was actually being quiet, happy and still...until one of the owners came over and said they couldn't play with them anymore. So what does a typical 2yr old boy do? Gets upset. The owners then proceed to tell us we are bad parents and our children are badly-behaved all because a 2 and 5 year old can't wait patiently in a store with children's toys that they ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TOUCH. Yesterday's is a FAMILY restaurant meaning kids will be present. If you don't want kids in your store, don't offer to be a waiting area for the restaurant. Shut, close up and seal the door between your store and Yesterday's. Besides that, the store itself isn't that great anyhow. Overpriced crap basically. The other stores in downtown Greensboro, while still expensive, have nicer items.

But, to be fair, I think the prior reviewer should withdraw their comments now. Two years of punishment for an entrepreneur would seem to be enough. Everyone is trying to earn a living. Let's be real. This is a gift shop and not a toy store.

No matter who I'm buying a gift for, Genuine Georgia always has an interesting selection of really…read morenice things. If I recall right, all their merchandise is local to Georgia, everything from beautiful colored glass work to hand woven towels and scarves to pottery to soaps to furniture to art to coasters to jewelry to food items to knick knacks and more (even some items such as spinning tops for kids). It is always a treat to shop here. You can't get more "Genuine" than Mrs. Cynthia, the owner! She employs a staff of like-minded people. If I could sum up this shop in one word, it would be "Tasteful." You're sure to enjoy a visit. ~Carolyn Cates

DEAR GENUINE GEORGIA,…read more Thank you for caring enough to have a clean and well organized shop that is warm and inviting. Some of your neighbors missed the "clean" memo. I really appreciated how organized and beautifully staged the various items were. I could have stayed here even longer. There is so much to see in the shop such as colorful pottery, paintings, home decor, furniture, wood sculptures and other unique pieces that make great gifts. Their inventory represents more than 120 artists throughout the state of Georgia. You will definitely want to check out those snack samples that they have available. We really liked their spreads that they had available. My husband enjoyed the Sweet Vadalia onion and peach while I preferred the praline spread. The praline spread paired very well with the cream cheese and crackers because it had a slightly sweeter taste without being cloyingly so. I could have made a meal out of the praline spread because it was so good, unfortunately when it came to purchasing a jar, I could not find it among the other spreads. I imagine that it is quick to sell out because it is that good. My husband ended up purchasing the Sweet Vidalia option which was a bit too salty on the back end for me. This store is a pleasure to shop because as soon as you enter, you will be greeted by several lovely ladies who are available if you need assistance or have any questions. When in Greensboro, don't forget to stop by and say hello! ***Be aware of the sodium content in those spreads. After posting my review and later looking at the jar, I noticed that the sodium content was 350mg per 2 tablespoons. Yikes!!! I informed my hypertensive husband and he made the wise decision to throw it away. Even if you don't have high blood pressure this is a crazy amount of sodium and what I consider a toxic level. Choose wisely!

I wanted to have flowers…read moredelivered to a friend that lost a furry member of her family,, and after researching florists in the Greensboro, GA area, I landed on one. Unfortunately, that original order was canceled by the florist due to supply issues. So Royalty Florist was my 2nd attempt at ordering an arrangement for delivery. After purchasing, my first clue this was probably a mistake was the hokey email confirmation I received. The delivery date came and no delivery was made. I called the florist and at first I got a message that the voicemail inbox was full. After trying again, I was able to leave a VM asking about the order I made. Today, I was told by the intended recipient that they received a call at 7:30p the night of the intended delivery date with an unprofessional, downright rude, excuse as to why the arrangement was not delivered. No flowers were delivered, and the entire experience was annoying to say the least. No offer for a refund was made. Update: flowers were delivered BUT they were delivered late evening on the day AFTER the date chosen for delivery and that was after a voicemail was left for the 2nd day in a row. I do not recommend using this florist.

I rang and the owner answered right away and we spoke for a little bit about business, what I wanted to do and she said she normally doesn't do this but she would help me out! I was really happy with the way it turned out and that she was willing to help and on super short notice (the morning of his opening). I recommend them highly. Very glad I called her. Oh! And they loved the basket!!
