This is a deceptively large Italian restaurant situated on the Broadway in Wimbledon. From the outside it has quite a small frontage, but as you walk in it seems to get larger and larger, with a very spacious eating area behind the bar.
The menu is fairly standard Italian fare with pizza, pasta, and a range of familiar starters. Prices are decent - starters between £5 and £9, and mains (pizza and pasta) around £8-£12.
Our starters (calamari and croquettes) were very nice, but the vegetarian pizza was disappointing, with a very thick crust and soggy base. Service was efficient, but our waitress was ever so slightly supercilious from the moment we walked in. (Her colleague was much nicer.) I don't know what it was about us she didn't like.
A slight surprise on our visit was that the added service charge is 12.5%, which is more central London than Wimbledon.
So, all in all, our experience was okay, but it wouldn't become a regular eatery for me. read more
