The limited menu !
Ron W.

I grabbed a last minute bite here before heading into the Youtube theater for the All American Rejects concert. They were one of several food trucks parked in American Airlines Plaza. Food was a little pricey and it is a short menu but the pizza was tasty and filling. Order was processed quickly and they DO accept cash tips - Yay ! I'll be back in a month when I attend my next event here !

Pepperoni Slice: $6.00

Yikes. While LA is in the midst of a Pizza renaissance of sorts, Made In Brooklyn NY is flash from the not so distant, not so great past with mediocre, overpriced pizza slices. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? You can't expect much from a truck, but the guys in the MIBNYP truck were nice and the slices were ready to go. One gripe I had was that they quoted me $5.00 for a slice of pepperoni and charged me $6.00, but whatever. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $6.00 for a decent sized slice of pizza isn't cheap, but shockingly it's not entirely out of the ordinary these days. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? This was weak pizza plain and simple. The crust had no flavor whatsoever, and while it was nice and crunchy in a way that kept the slice upright, it was disappointing even compared to the fast chains by today's standards. The cheese and pepperoni were fine, but certainly nothing special. No Stars. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? I've never had great pizza from a truck, and that trend has continued. No Star.

Fun good truck. Really nice guys. Solid pizza. Nice and crispy. Saw them in pasadena.

The long line waiting for overpriced slices

12 bucks for two slices and a drink? No wonder the truck never has a line. I just ordered a full medium, Pepperoni from LOCAL purveyors, Valentinos 14 bucks delivered, and I can round up my own can of coke, thanks guys. This in a nutshell is the main problem of most food trucks - cost vs. value. Kogi is pretty much the only truck that gets this right. For literally an inch of effort you can probably throw a rock in LA and hit a decent local pie shop, and I encourage you to do just that.

Never again - slowest slices ever. Wish I could take my tip back, as it insured nothing.

The only reason they have business is from ripping people off at concerts. I seen pieces of paper thicker and tastier than their pizza.

Waaaay overpriced for a slice! $8 for pepperoni, $7 for cheese. And the slice was small. Not worth it.

Honestly, it's really disappointing to see a Latino owned business treating its own community this way. We should be supporting our community, not taking advantage of our people. My friend recently had an experience here that was extremely disappointing. Her card didn't go through, but the cashier didn't notice that the payment had been declined and gave her the food anyway. Once my friend realized the payment hadn't gone through, she immediately went back inside and politely explained what had happened because she wanted to make it right. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the cashier became aggressive and accused her of stealing. My friend was extremely embarrassed and upset, especially because she is a local resident who has consistently supported this business. Mistakes happen, but there's a respectful way to handle them. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning. I would encourage others to consider supporting another local business that values and respects its customers.

It's called the Maya-a. The meat is a tangy sweet bbq sauce with delicious tender pulled pork on top of well done mac n cheese and jalapeno cornbread underneath. I'm still dreaming of the next time I can order this deliciousness!!

Misnomer. When I saw the name of this food truck, I thought this might be Central American's "soul"…read morefood, but it was actually US Southern soul food with a little Latin twist. The only Latin American ingredients were tortilla, store-bought chips and their mango salsa (which was good). I like the idea of putting southern food in tortilla for convenient, food-truck dining, but I would expect a bit more blending of the two cuisines with its name. Zora Neale's Special: perfectly seasoned and grilled tilapia with greens (kale) and Mac n' cheese for $12. They serve it in a hamburger styrofoam box, so it looks rather small, but they load it and are very generous with the portions! I couldn't finish it in one sitting. I must say the greens and Mac n' cheese were quite salty, though. 3 Taco Special: your choice of chicken, beef brisket, fish and/or oxtail(!), which comes with store-bought chips and their mango salsa for $12. Each taco is regularly priced at $4. They allow you to order different kinds of meat per order, which is nice, but they didn't have oxtail at this time. :( The beef brisket was good, but again, a tad on the salty side. For sides, I tried the plantain chips and sweet potato fries. The plantain chips were not chips at all, but fried plantains, which were delicious, but we expected chips. The sweet potato fries were crispy and seasoned just right. I also ordered what I thought was watermelon juice, but it was really sugary lemonade with a few pieces of watermelon in it. Again, not what I was expecting. :/ The staff working in the truck was really nice, though, and tried to get orders out quickly.
