Brazilian food store in the Moore Street Mall (downstairs below Lidl), good place to stock up on some strong Brazilian coffee!

The epicurean food hall, I always feel I like the idea of it more than the actual execution…read more On one if the few hot days of the year in our fair city, feeling hungry and in my way for something of the Mexican sort, I instead swerved in here and on seeing the Brazilian stand, made a beeline for it. I confess to not knowing much about Brazilian cuisine but as it was a concise menu in English, this wasn't an issue. I went for the picanha, which is a traditional Brazilian steak cut which was accompanied by chips and rice, picked onions and peppers and some sort of seasoning (salt, ground black pepper, something else probably) It was.......grand. The meat saved it mostly. Not the best cut but cooked as I had requested, medium rare. The sides........bland and ate out of hunger more than want. I wouldn't completely rule out a return visit but with a bit more research on my part next time!!

Ok, let's be honest here. This is your every day type of place (sure, I get, it's not everyday that…read moreyou're paying 8 Euro for a lunch. But don't take your girlfriend there with the intention to propose). Given that, it's a pretty good offer. They have their menu, but I usually go with the special of the day, which is different for each day of the week (also usually means you'll wait less for your order as well). Also offered is a Brazilian PF (ready-made dish, which just means you get your plate with several pre-picked choices - but isn't it like other place? Yes, a bit too much to explain in a review ;) ), which is more aimed at students. So, don't expect you'll get the feeling of being on a beach in Rio, rather the feel of an office lunch somewhere in a busy city in Brazil, and that's totally fine!

When looking for a traditional restaurant in Dublin, our hotel recommended Bull and Castle. The…read morerestaurant is located within a quieter neighborhood in the city while still walkable to the sights. Far from the crowds of Temple Bar, the restaurant was understated and peaceful. The meal was divine. The restaurant appeared to be a cross between a steakhouse and an Irish pub overing a diverse menu. The restaurant was dark and homey. The staff was attentive and friendly. I'd recommend visiting Bull and Castle during your next trip to Dublin.

Such a change from the last experience a year ago…read more We had 8:30 PM reservations. Arrived around 8:10 and were told to wait at the bar. No problem, it's NYE, we can wait for out booked time. Less than 5 minutes later we were lead to a table, not even time to order a drink! We shared everything. Ordered cocktails to begin with. They were ok, two different old fashioned drinks. We tried to order bone marrow, scallops, tuna tataki and a Caesar salad as starters. They were already out of the bone marrow and scallops. It's a holiday, you know there are reservations... what?! Poor management and planning!! They recommended the lamb kidneys... never had them before, super gross. I'll never do that again. It smelled like urine! We ordered the burger and 14 oz sirloin to share, medium rare on the steak. Polenta fries, and mashed potatoes. The polenta fries were outstanding! The burger was delicious! Smokey flavor, it was great. It came with huge steak fries, I prefer shoestring. The steak was not tender. Had a better steak sandwich at the Morrison for lunch. All in all, I will not be going back nor recommending this place. The wine I ordered never arrived, our water was never refilled. In fact, after the food arrived, we never saw anyone again!! When the check came with an obligatory 12.5% tip I missed it and paid. Once I noticed, I flipped out!! This was the worst service ever!! I double check tipping culture in Ireland before I complain. 10% is good for good service and bad service is ok to leave zero tip. So I asked for it back. They gave me credit for the tip but not the tax on tip. Unimpressed. Won't go again.
