He previously rescheduled our session for his own personal reasons, yet when I had a scheduling conflict, he was aggressive and hostile. A professional artist should be able to manage their books without resorting to public insults and threats. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you value respectful communication.

The missus won't go anywhere else and I can see why. She won't let anyone else but Jeff work on her either. Period. There are all kinds of designs hanging on the walls and in poster boards near the windows. Plenty of design books and body piercing jewelry in showcases also. Showroom is downstairs and the studio itself is upstairs in an old, raggedy building that's probably stood over 100 years in Ybor City. I don't like this neighborhood at all, but seeing Jeff is well worth the trip so long as it's still bright out. As I stated, studio is upstairs and is quite sanitary, clean and squared away. Lots more designs and pics up there as well. Jeff definitely takes his time and does stuff the right way. You cannot be drunk, zonked or stoned and expect ink here; he won't risk his craft for an idiot. He and the staff definitely view this as art as well as business. Most of the Queen Bee's work isn't from a design book but rather original. Mine is sort of in between the two but either way, they do it all here, as well as permanent makeup. Jeff certainly knows what he is doing and could probably get away with making more than he does, but he has a loyal following so why ruin a good thing? I love seeing the little guys of life do well!

I booked an appointment online for a tattoo consultation. I received a confirmation and arrived as scheduled at 12:45. After standing outside the door knocking for a few minutes, I called. The woman on the phone first said there was no appointment, then changed her story and said it must have just come in and that the artist couldn't meet with me because he was in a 6 hour session. I did appreciate that after I told her I couldn't come back later in the day, she took down what I wanted and said she'd speak to him. I wanted a VERY small addition to an existing tattoo. She said she'd get back to me "within 2 hours." More than 4 hours later, I called back for an update. She was very rude on the phone, saying "I told you he was in a 6 hour session." She said she didn't want to bother me if he hadn't looked at my request, but we had texted already so I don't really see how a "it'll be a bit longer than expected" text would be a bother. Anyways, I didn't receive any sort of response until the following afternoon, more than 24 hours after my scheduled appointment time. In the text, I was told that the artist would only do the tattoo addition if it was doubled in size (something I specifically said I didn't want), that it would cost $500, that he was booked out for 4 months, and that to have any sort of sketch I had to put down a deposit. I've gotten tattoos before and would *absolutely* pay that much and wait that long for something that's going on my body, if it was what I wanted. However, the fact that the service was so bad even for a simple 30 minute consultation and that he wasn't even willing to discuss doing anything the size I wanted ensured me this was not going to be a good fit.

I went here for my third tattoo yesterday (April 12th, 2018). I wanted to get a specific word and…read moresymbol that has a lot of meaning to me. I did my research into various tattoo shops in the area, and settled on Ink Wolves because I liked their portfolios on their website and saw that they had a lot of good reviews. I was a walk in client, and there were a few people ahead of me, so I had to wait awhile but I didn't mind. I am a nurse, so I took this time to examine their cleanliness. I watched to make sure that they were wearing gloves, washing their hands, cleaning the chairs, using sterile equipment, and that the ink was poured into one time use cups. I am happy to report that they passed my little inspection with flying colors. The shop is very small, but it is clean. When you walk in, you'll notice a couch, a loveseat, a couple of chairs, and a desk. On the right wall they have a lot of well organized "tattoo flash" (predawn outlines of tattoos), but it's obvious that these artists like doing custom work, and that's a good thing! Along the left wall as you come in and throughout the shop, you'll see paintings by the various artists that are for sale. Beyond the desk is the tattoo area, and there is a small private room in the back where they do piercings. They have a single stall restroom that customers can use in the back, just ask if you need it. The staff seemed very friendly and professional. They charge a very fair price for their work, and have a lot of GREAT discounts and deals frequently. My artist was Jelly (who is also a piercer), and she was wonderful. I had minimal pain and the tattoo turned out beautifully. It is my favorite of my three ta In short, I would highly recommend Ink Wolves Tattoo (and particularly Jelly) if you are looking for a good tattoo at a good price! PS: they own the smoke shop next door and will occasionally offer coupons for discounts in the smoke shops for their tattoo/piercing clients. UPDATE 4/26/19 I returned to this shop for a nose piercing in Jan. Once again, they did a great job! Brandy, the piercer, is very nice and gentle. She walked me through the process step by step. It's healing very well! Today, I returned for another tattoo. It's the Rebel symbol from Star Wars and I love it! Once again, the staff was friendly and were able to fit me in between appointments because my tattoo is small. As long as I live in the Tampa area, they have a loyal customer!
