For years (I'm 45), I have been looking for a hairstylist that works well with curly hair. I feel…read moresuper lucky/fortunate/grateful that I finally found one-Keri!!! I have 3A/B curly red hair and she cut & styled it to perfection!!! Of course, at home, it's hard for me to mimic the exact way she styled it; HOWEVER, I know it's a great cut when it still turns out beautiful when I style it myself at home! I recently just got my hair highlighted by her & it turned out exactly like I had envisioned!!! She is very kind, calm, a great listener, and has an eye for design! I didn't have to tell her too much about the look I was envisioning and she nailed it! Her prices are fair, especially considering her exceptional talent & experience!!! She also does her best to get you in within a reasonable amount of time.

BLACK CURLS IN OC HAVE A SAFE PLACE!! Michelle is so amazing at what she does, she has helped my…read morecurl pattern recover DRAMATICALLY after years of incorrect haircuts! Michelle not only recognizes my various curl types, but cuts each accordingly, layer by layer! When I first came to see Michelle for her customized curly experience, I was so nervous! Curly cuts don't come cheap!!! And admittedly, I wasn't totally convinced that a white woman in South OC could deliver...but after years of bad haircuts, I was recovering from layers cut incorrectly, and decided it was time to commit to fixing it with a curly cut. Michelle genuinely blew me away with her work and I could SEE it was worth it! By taking the time to notice the different curl patterns throughout my hair, cutting with a purpose of fixing the damage, and hand curling each of my tired layers, I finally got a haircut that left me with an authentic BIG smile! From that moment it was decided, and everyone has seen the change in my hair since! My hair is so much happier and healthier now that I've been seeing Michelle for the past 11 months! I admittedly don't even go on a consistent schedule, just when I feel when things need a trim, but the difference is OBVIOUS. My hope for any OC parents of kids with curls ESPECIALLY biracial kids whose hair you're still learning--come to Michelle!! Michelle knows type 3 and type 4 hair and does justice for my various type 3 curls, making me so happy every time I come to see her. Y'all she knows what she is DOING!!

TLDR: Michelle is incredible! She is the best thing that happened to my curls in decades! With her…read morecut and techniques I consistently still have amazing curls from day 1 to day 5 (and that once included a day at an amusement park with rollercoasters on day 4)! I will definitely be going back and I cannot recommend her enough for anyone with curls whether you are new to being a curly girl or a longterm curly veteran! I guarantee you will learn something from her! Longer version: I've followed various curly girl methods for over 20 years and have been getting curly hair cuts for just as long. If there is a wash/style/refresh method of doing hair or a curly product I have probably tried it at some point. That said, new things come out and I love learning so every few years I'll try a different stylist just to see if they teach me new techniques I don't know. Michelle blew me away! Not only did she give me a phenomenal hair cut with great layers but she showed me her techniques and products. I had been introduced to Innersense before and wasn't really blown away but Michelle did a great job explaining the products and why they are cleaner/easier to use with less heavy oils than some other curly products. In the past, I have gotten good curl definition but usually have pretty significant frizz by day 3-4 but with Michelle's methods I have almost no frizz or halo at day 5, despite still having decent volume and amazing definition. Not only that but I had to do a wash/style day during a work trip and only needed half the amount of product I previously used which is HUGE for me since I almost always travel with only carry-ons. The products really are cleaner/easier to use than anything I have tried. I have also always struggled with refreshing my curls between wash days, but she went over her technique with me and I am now able to refresh my hair easily without it coming out stringy/greasy or wet enough that I felt like I should just do another wash day. Plus she pointed out a line of damage from where I was always ponytails/pinappling my curls and so now I am being more intentional about changing up my implements for putting my hair up. Her attention to detail is phenomenal, and I love that she still attends continuous education to constantly improve herself. She is definitely my new stylist for the foreseeable future and I am so incredibly glad I decided to try her!

I was looking for curtain bangs and left with very uneven strips down the side of my face. The bangs aren't long enough to go in my pony tail or even behind my ears so I'm stuck with it until they grow out. Katie did offer to fix them, which I appreciate but I would only consider that if it was a minor fix. One of my previous cuts went horribly wrong and another "stylist" at another salon (see my other review) cut off 6" more than I wanted. I am still trying to grow it out and it was about 2 years ago i believe. Anyhoo, so glad we found Brittany. She really takes the time to listen to what you want, looks at pictures, making sure she understands what you're looking for before getting started. So after my oldest daughters hair turned out so nicely, I immediately made my appointment with her for a cut and then my younger daughter as well. When my older daughter, 14, wanted to brighten up her dark blonde (virgin) hair I was a bit cautious only because I don't want her to have to get touch up's every couple months. Brittany did a process on her that gave her a sun kissed, been out in the sun all summer look but stayed away from too much in the roots so it won't be a harsh line when it grows out. Brittany believes she will not need a touch up for about a year...perfect! We couldn't be happier with the results. Definitely noticeable but still natural at the same time, exactly what my daughter was looking for! Thank you Brittany!! (First photo is before pic, second & third after.)
