This was our first time ever leaving our 4 dogs so to say I was nervous was an understatement. The Pocono Pet Nanny's Bed and Biscuit is probably one of the nicest and cleanest places I have ever seen.There are several themed rooms along with beds, TVs and music playing. There is a fenced in area that the dogs can go out to run and do their "business" which worked out well for my dogs since they are used to a fenced backyard. The check in process was great. Jan is very organized and takes lots of notes on each dog. She allowed me to bring in our dogs' bedding, crates and bowls which was fantastic because our dogs were so used to their own things. I will admit I was crying when I left the dogs  but knew I made the BEST decision leaving them with her. Throughout my trip I received texts and pictures updating me on each of my dogs. Never once did I question if my dogs were okay: I knew they were in the best of hands!  Thanks to Jan and her staff, my family and I were able to enjoy our first trip ever. I had such peace of mind! Prior to booking our dogs' stay, Jan was great at communicating with us and never hesitated to answer my (many, many) questions. I was a bit nervous because our one dog is very food aggressive. Jan had no problem taking him in and even fed him in a separate area. She and her staff are "pet people" and truly have love and compassion for animals. Our family never traveled because we did not want to leave our dogs, but I have a feeling our visit with the Pocono Pet Nanny might change things for us. I never write reviews, but I felt compelled to because of her outstanding expertise and help in training my puppy. Kathy's professionalism, care for the dog's wellbeing, and ability to clearly and effectively communicate with me are only a handful of reasons why I'd strongly recommend Kathy's services to anyone. What I failed to realize in the beginning of working with Kathy is how much dog training involves human training...specifically training me, the dog owner. In order to get the most out of training, I felt I needed to keep an open mind to Kathy's suggestion and never take it personally. She truly has the dog's best interest at heart. For example, one suggestion Kathy made was to start loose leash walk training indoors, then in my backyard, then front yard, then finally sidewalks. (I compared the concept to a child going to kindergarten first, then elementary school, then high school, then finally college.) Implementing her input was the best thing I ever did! He walks really well on a loose leash now outside on sidewalks (at barely 5 months old!). Had I not checked my ego at the door and openly received and diligently implemented Kathy's sage advice, my puppy would never be as well behaved as he is. She is an extremely compassionate animal lover who is reliable and conscientious. She spends at least 30 minutes with my cat at each visit, writes notes to me about the visit, how my cat seemed, what his behavior was like, how he was eating, etc.. Sue also writes down everything she did while she was there at my house, i.e. she doesn't just dip the litter box---if it smells, she empties and cleans it! She sweeps up the litter, and wipes out the sink at every visit. When I get home from my trips, I always find a happy cat and my house in very clean condition. I have used A Bow Meow Affair for over a year now for approximately 5 different trips. I can't say enough good things about Sue Brooks and this company.
