This was the worst rental experience that I've ever had. I made my reservation approximately three to four months ahead of time. A month after making the initial reservation, I attempted to add another machine to our reservation, of which he had no record. I had to make the entire reservation again. About one month before our rental date, I called to confirm the date and time of our reservation. Again, he had no record of our reservation. He searched for about five minutes and finally found it. Two weeks before our rental date I called to ask what time they would like us to arrive for our afternoon rental. His reply was "uhh, it looks like we accidentally double booked that day, so we have no machines for you. You can rent four wheelers instead or I have eight RZRs the following day". Unfortunately, we already had Harleys rented the following day, so that was not an option. We also had several first time riders with no experience, so four wheelers weren't really an option either. I called every other rental place in the area, but since it was so close to the rental date and we had a large party, there were no options. I ultimately ended up rearranging the entire weekend to accommodate this mistake and we rented the following day instead. This took me about seven hours of messing around and plenty of anxiety. The day before our rental, Mad Mountain called to ask if we were still coming in that day since it had snowed. I explained to him for the fifth time that we weren't coming in that day, we were scheduled for the following day. I was having a very hard time keeping my cool by this point. I made sure to confirm that he did in fact have 8 two-seat RZRs for the following day. He replied with a very non-convincing "umm, yeah". We arrived with twelve people the following day and were initially told that they had no record of our reservation. After searching for several minutes, he again relocated the reservation. Not that it mattered given they had already rented all but one of their two-seat RZRs to another group. In the end, half of our group ended up sitting at home while the other half rode in the leftover four-seat RZRs they had sitting around. In addition, they refused to give us the four-seaters for the price of the two-seaters since they completely hosed us. He basically looked at me like he could give a rip less and said "you want the machines we have or not". They did give us $30-$35 of each four seat RZR after I blew a gasket and started yelling. I'm convinced they never did have the machines they said they did, but wanted to squeeze a few extra bucks out of us by renting the remaining four-seaters they had sitting around, even though that's not what we asked for. However, I will say that their machines are in great condition and they've been flexible with us in the past. We've rented snowmobiles, four wheelers, and RZRs from Mad Mountain in the past and they've always been good to work with and flexible. After botching our bachelor weekend with this fiasco so horribly, we won't be returning. read more
