When I called, I was told the repair would take longer than the original four-day estimate. I said I would pick up my car instead, and suddenly they said it could be finished within four days. The next day, they gave me an estimate that was about $1,000 higher than the insurance estimate, so I decided to take my car elsewhere. When I picked up my car, they initially charged me about $275 for checking the sensors and removing/reinstalling the bumper, even though I never approved any repairs. After I disputed the charges, they dropped the $110 sensor fee, but I still had to pay about $150 for work I never authorized--on top of wasting my time. Isn't the purpose of an estimate to let the customer decide whether to proceed before being charged?
