I was shopping on my last day in Daytona and I stopped in looking for a springsuit. They didn't have one that worked for me but they were so amazing and helped me to figure out what size I would need so I could order it when I got home. While I was there they also answered some of my surfing questions and I can't wait to get to the beach and try out the suggestions I got. My sons and I went to have their surf board fixed, the board got chipped due to heat or bumped. Mad Dog gave my boys and me instructions on how to fix the problem. We were appreciative of it, but had doubts on how to fix it so we made a decision to leave the board with him. He patched up the board beautifully as if nothing ever happened to it. The guy is not only passionate about his trade but generous and knowledgeable in his craft. If a purchase is to be made on a Surf board or a repair is to be made, you've got to go to "Mad Dog". Very poor customer service! Promised to replace defective product than refused. The wife lied about what happened and was extremely argumentative and belligerent about a simple defective product. Stuck me with a defective product and told me I had to "take care of it" myself. BUYER BEWARE! We stopped in to inquire about paddle boards since we saw them while we were boogie boarding over the holiday weekend. Some locals told us about Mad Dog surf shop right by our hotel. We walked over and met Bernie the owner who was working at the shop. After some great conversation he offered to take us out in the morning because that's when the weather is best. He took us down the coast about a mile teaching us along the way. We ran into his wife in the water and she took over instruction on how to ride a wave in. Both were so knowledgable, kind and genuinely good people who only wanted us to experience the joy of surfing as much as they do. The shop was priced the same as other surf shops I have been in so that previous review was probably just a disgruntled local in a bad mood. We received nothing but wonderful instructions and over the top customer service. We would recommend the Mad Dog surf shop to anyone looking to rent equipment, learn, shop, or just to meet some local shop owners who love their little community and are positive good people who love what they do. read more

So far I have bought 4 paddleboards, a surfboard, a boogie board, UV tops, paddling hats, and have been buying from Mad Dog for 8 years. This is a locally owned shop, and the owners are on site for all questions. Through the years Bernie and Rita have repaired my boards, loaned us paddles when we forget one, helped my friends with the right board, and been a huge help in areas to paddle, how to drop in on a wave, etc. etc. I highly recommend this shop, which not only sells quality boards, but also has a full line of sandals, UV tops, bathing suits, back packs, and everything you need for the beach or river. read more
