We were traveling from west palm beach and decided to see the local surf shop. We have a lot of great ones in our area. The family was so kind and gave us an awesome suggestion to eat at Millie's. We are here now :) we would have bought some stuff but they were renovating and a lot of it was unfortunately packed up. We will be back one day. read more

Came here for some beach gear. If you are looking for top end water gear at fair prices this is your place. It's not your touristy trap type of place but a real shop with great folks working there. read more

They don't wear masks. It's a tiny little room and no one wears masks. We started to walk in (we've shopped here in the past before COVID) and saw ten people in what is basically a small garage and none wearing masks. Just a heads up. read more

Luv them there! Bernies the man! ...his chick really runs the place she's cool and straight up!

The ONLY surf shop to go to in Daytona! Bernie is the BEST! He helped me plug my bodyboard and gave me advice and instruction on surfing. The store is super cute with everything you need for a fun day in the sun. read more

Incredible owner! He found out i was a nurse, thanked me for what i do, and gave me my purchase on the house. There are good people in this world still doing good things, and this owner made my day when i traveled down to the beach for one day off from the stress of my job. Thank you so much. read more

From a local's perspective... best surf shop around! The family owned and operated shop has been a beachside fixture for years. Having been around so long, the staff knows all of the best water spots and can get you just about anything you need. After doing our research on paddle boards the owners helped us narrow down what was best for us and helped us get everything we needed. Aside from that we always get our sunglasses, sun wear, and flops from there. Everything we need in one place! read more

Came across Mad Dog while on a vacation in the area and in the market for a new wet suit. The guys who worked there were super knowledgeable, great customer service. I felt that they knew about the wet suits and and didn't try to upsell me although I wanted the top of the line stuff. They know what they are talking about and have great products ! I walked away with the best wet suit ive ever owned :) read more

I was shopping on my last day in Daytona and I stopped in looking for a springsuit. They didn't have one that worked for me but they were so amazing and helped me to figure out what size I would need so I could order it when I got home. While I was there they also answered some of my surfing questions and I can't wait to get to the beach and try out the suggestions I got. Next time I'm in town I will be stopping in and giving them my business for sure! read more

Awesome staff and very helpful. Highly recommend this business. I stopped by for a dent in my surfboard, the guy at the front desk patched it with his own material and gave me tips for when it happens again. No complaints at all. read more

Including in house hand shaped surfboards by Bernie Crouch. Great selection of flip-flops, bathing suits and carry the top surf brands in beach wear. I purchased their very own Mad Dog Coffee which I would highly recommend! The store is very neat and organized making for a very pleasant shopping experience. A family run business by long time Daytona Beach residents & surfers whom are very knowledgeable in both surfing and in the local area. Kindly providing us with a few awesome restaurant recommendations! Very courteous, laid back & down to earth. My sons and I went to have their surf board fixed, the board got chipped due to heat or bumped. Mad Dog gave my boys and me instructions on how to fix the problem. We were appreciative of it, but had doubts on how to fix it so we made a decision to leave the board with him. He patched up the board beautifully as if nothing ever happened to it. The guy is not only passionate about his trade but generous and knowledgeable in his craft. If a purchase is to be made on a Surf board or a repair is to be made, you've got to go to "Mad Dog". Excellent customer service. read more

This surf shop is by far the best surf shop EVER! The owner is so nice and cool! Every time I go there I get the best experience and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone. SURF MADDOG!!! read more

Nicest people on the planet. Have been visiting MadDog since i was a kid. Always beyond fair on prices, extremely helpful, and always a great vibe. Ive seen MULTIPLE cases where someone was unsure on a board or product and he just let them go try it out. Never dealt with nicer people at any retail store. read more

Absolute Best Surf Shop In Daytona Area. Owners were friendly and great to deal with! Great selection and awesome deals! We ended up making multiple trips while we were in town this week even taking friends with us. read more

Very poor customer service! Promised to replace defective product than refused. The wife lied about what happened and was extremely argumentative and belligerent about a simple defective product. Stuck me with a defective product and told me I had to "take care of it" myself. BUYER BEWARE! We will never shop here again and we will be advising all our friends and family to avoid this place like the plague! read more

My favorite surf shop to visit when on vacation! They have good quality clothing and i love their shirts!

We stopped in to inquire about paddle boards since we saw them while we were boogie boarding over the holiday weekend. Some locals told us about Mad Dog surf shop right by our hotel. We walked over and met Bernie the owner who was working at the shop. After some great conversation he offered to take us out in the morning because that's when the weather is best. He took us down the coast about a mile teaching us along the way. We ran into his wife in the water and she took over instruction on how to ride a wave in. Both were so knowledgable, kind and genuinely good people who only wanted us to experience the joy of surfing as much as they do. The shop was priced the same as other surf shops I have been in so that previous review was probably just a disgruntled local in a bad mood. We received nothing but wonderful instructions and over the top customer service. We would recommend the Mad Dog surf shop to anyone looking to rent equipment, learn, shop, or just to meet some local shop owners who love their little community and are positive good people who love what they do. read more

Small surf shop, but knowledgable. Great customer service, I felt that they knew about their products and moved with my best interest, not something one would expect so close the beach. Would suggest again. read more

So far I have bought 4 paddleboards, a surfboard, a boogie board, UV tops, paddling hats, and have been buying from Mad Dog for 8 years. This is a locally owned shop, and the owners are on site for all questions. Through the years Bernie and Rita have repaired my boards, loaned us paddles when we forget one, helped my friends with the right board, and been a huge help in areas to paddle, how to drop in on a wave, etc. etc. I highly recommend this shop, which not only sells quality boards, but also has a full line of sandals, UV tops, bathing suits, back packs, and everything you need for the beach or river. read more

This place is way over priced. The employees are rude, give off an "entitled" vibe. From a locals stand point, they thrive off of tourists who don't know any better. Disgusting. read more
