This was the cleanest bait shop we've ever been in here in Daytona. Great service, bait and materials. It's a little bit on the pricey side, but the size of their live shrimp is exceptional. Their parking lot is a little bit tight but they have street parking for trucks. read more

If you are anywhere near Daytona beach and your a fisherman this is the place to go. Amazing staff who are very kind and knowledgeable. That have a very good selection of bait and rods. Also they have a great price, me and my dad rented poles for only 15 dollars a day! We also got leaders and frozen bait for a very good price. Highly recommend! read more

I have a Penn paraflex that was dropped off for warranty over year ago. Now they can't find It also do not do not DO NOT use their reel repair guy. I had a Diawa Saltist come back to me in worse shape. Their rod repair guy is awesome though. Prices are the most expensive compared to other bait shops in town. read more

This is a great bait and tackle shop. The owner and staff are both knowledgeable and helpful. I had a jammed screw on my bubble box for my bait bucket and they helped me to fix it. The owner was great to offer ideas on what was biting and specific baits. I will use them again if I am ever down in the Ormond Beach/Daytona area again. read more

If I could give negative stars, this store would rate a negative 10. I went in today looking to see whether they had someone who could repair a broken fishing rod. Both sections of the rod had been snapped in two when it was shipped. I explained to the curly haired kid at the counter that I wanted to see if the rod could be repaired just to have on display (not to use). It was significant because it had belonged to my fiancé's brother, who had passed away and I wanted to have it put back together before Christmas so we could display it at the house. The kid said he could take a look at it. I brought it in and he said no, it couldn't be repaired and then he said "You might as well just throw it in the trash." HOW CLUELESS DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO SAY THAT? I explained again the significance of it and he repeated they couldn't do anything. Fine. Despite this, I bought some ferrule thread and went somewhere else to get wood dowels and epoxy and will fix it myself. It's not f-ing rocket science. This kid needs to take a remedial sales class. Oh, and masks were required (according to a sign on the door) and the kid was wearing one. Figures. read more

This was the first time I've visited The Fishing Hole, and I was very pleasantly surprised. I was drawn to the beautiful exterior, very classy, and not what you expect for a fishing store. Entering the inside, it's equally well done with a huge selection of about everything. I had purchased a reel elsewhere and they added line to the reel, but also offered to put the line on another reel even though I had already bought the line elsewhere. Just plain Good Service!! I met the 2 Owners, Gene & Lisa, who were as helpful and friendly as one could expect. I now keep a boat at a nearby marina and will make The Fishing Hole my "Go To Fishing Store". read more

The store had a good assortment of equipment, but do not take a reel in to be repaired. I left my Ambassador 10,000 there for a month, and when they finally said it was ready, the reel would not even turn. I showed it to the guy and he informed me to leave it. He called me 2 hours later to pick it up. When I checked it out, the drag would hardly give. I took it back and he said this is a different problem. I took it in to get the drag washers replaced. I had him remove his parts and put the original parts on. Please do not take your reel here, if you want to keep fishing with it. read more

The Fishin' Hole was established in 1959. As the Daytona area grew so did the Fishin' Hole. We are considered the go to full service fishing tackle shop in east central Florida.

Meet the Business Owner: Gene L.

We fished heavily in the area freshwater, saltwater inshore, and offshore. We were both in the corporate life, traveling all the time for work, and wanted to stay closer to home for the family. So we found an old local shop in need of a makeover, and here we are.

Not crazy, drunken and insane kids like Daytona gets at certain times of the year but younger kids that want to play on the beach and in the ocean. Some nice picnic benches, relatively clean bathrooms, drinking fountains and some things for the young ones to play on makes Sun Splash park a nice place for a family outing.

Fantastic experience! Wanted to try SUP for a while and found this place via a Living Social…read morepromotion. Made a reservation for 4th of July weekend a few weeks in advance. The excursion is for about two hours of paddle boarding, but we were advised to be there 15-30 minutes before to prep. We needed time to apply sunblock and put all of our non-waterproof items in the car. We were told that if you don't want it wet, then don't bring it on the board with you. I checked in at the front desk with Eric and signed a standard waiver, then waited for our guide to round us up. Our group of three, along with another couple, were escorted to a dock area by SUP guide Laurel. Laurel was pretty cool-very chill, patient lady, great personality, and a kind teacher. We were fitted for a single adjustable paddle size, then on to the boards to paddle ourselves into nature. It was so helpful to have Lauren guide us on how to get on/off the board and how to start off balancing the right way. We also received instructions on how to row, turn, and backup using the paddle. We journeyed up the New Smyrna North Causeway towards the drawbridge. We spotted many Dolphins along the way and breezed past waterfront homes, small islands, and some boats and other paddle boarders. Sometimes we got fatigued and took short breaks by sitting or kneeling on the board while we continued to paddle forward. We had a paddling break by the North Causeway bridge on a sandbar. Laurel took some photos and provided us with water from her cooler. After that we went forward on the loop course towards the dock where we started off. Some important things-you may need water shoes, depending on your tolerance of having your feet in an intracoastal waterway. Don't bring anything that cannot be submerged in water. Put on sunblock and bring sunglasses. Consider wearing a hat and just a swimsuit. It feels very liberating in swimwear, just hanging out in nature somewhat scantily clad. Bring cash to tip your guide well. Also you can buy the photos of your experience on a thumb drive for $30 at the end. I really can't wait to try this again, maybe next time unguided. It felt so free and fun to glide on the water, this could be my new favorite hobby! Great day out.
