I went to Macys today and wanted to go to the 2nd floor. I was not comfortable getting on an escalator due to an injury. I am claustrophobic so the elevator was out. I asked 4 associates where the steps were and was informed that they either didn't know or there are no stairs. I phoned when I got home and was again told by an associate who said she contacted the manager that there are no stairs. So sorry to say you have lost a customer. read more

Welcoming, clean and well organized. Perhaps just personal perception but it seemed smaller than the Macy's I've visited in New York City. However, you will find all of the popular name brands. They are well stocked and easy to find. The store appears to be well managed. The mannequins and displays were appealing. Lighting was adequate. So I walk into Macy's on July 1st 2020. I already had intended on buying/ordering a woman's Michale Kors smart watch. I already knew which one I wanted. I stranded at the counter for about 15 minutes before anyone even noticed me or said anything to me. Finally this lady says "do you need help?" I said "yes I would like to look at some of your Michale Kors watches" she says "jewelry will help you" as she's sanitizing the countertops down and such, I could tell she was in a rush to go home and wasn't happy we were there to spend money. (They closed in an hour) The lady at jewelry was very nice, however she didn't quite know what watches were available in store. I told her I'd purchase one online through her (which I could've gone home and done it myself online). She goes behind the counter to the computer, and she's trying to get it to the watch screen which took her 10 minutes. It looked like either the system was slow, or she didn't have knowledge about how to do online ordering. She shows me the watches (I'm standing behind the counter still, and can barely see what they look like) and thankfully I knew which one I wanted so I tried to make her job easier. I see the one I wanted, she then begins to ask for my name, address, social security number (which I dont know why my social security number should be a determining factor on ordering a watch if I'm using a debit card) and she asks me to put my card into the terminal. After she charges my card 372$ she says "oh I'm sorry it says it's unavailable would you like to order another one?" I said "well the transaction already went through my account" as I have notification updates through my bank on my phone. She goes "oh really it did?!? Let's try to get you another one that's available" so as I'm standing there a little annoyed that a transaction went through on my account already and I still have no watch. She continues to go through the list again, I see another one I like and she takes all my information AGAIN (she asked for my number 5 times) she then asks me to put my card through the terminal and I did because she's just trying to do her job, and I felt bad for her because clearly she wasn't trained well.. After my card gets charged ANOTHER 372$ she says "oh no, this ones unavailable too." And I kinda froze and said "you're telling me you just charged my account for 372$ twice, for nothing?" She then calls the manager and the manager over the phone ( I could hear them) wasn't sympathetic and just asked her "are you going to be done in 30 minutes we're closing you know? And our online system is down" then hangs up. I ask when I will receive that money back (totaling over 700$) and she says "oh my hopefully the end of the night it should most definitely be in your account.. I think." Any other customer would've thrown a fit I simply said "it's not your fault, your just doing your job, have a good night." I walked out of the store and immediately looked up corporates number to Macy's. I then couldn't get ahold of a real person only the operator. I finally found a number that can connect me to a real person. I was on hold for an hour. I finally hung up after an hour of waiting on hold. Macy's, I give you one star because you sell good products. Other than that, you have a poor staff that isn't trained properly, and you guys don't care about your customers or their feedback. I found out today I can't receive the $700 That was charged to my account for 5-7 business days. I am now without that money for over a week, I am 26 years old and I work in the food industry so that is a lot of money to me right now. I am just absolutely furious, and I've never in my life has seen this happen to anyone!! I would never take 700$ from someone and let them walk out that door with nothing. By law, what happened to me yesterday is theft. Macy's you stole 700$ that I won't be able to use for a week now, and there's nothing you guys can do about it? I find that hard to believe. The employees do not listen. In the perfume department, I show a sales person a picture of exactly what I want and they tell me that they do not have it and I don't want it anyways because the parfum it's not as good as the toilette. First, not true. Toilettes have a lower concentrate, so the smell wear off in an hour or two, so they're a waste of money. Secondly, what gives you the right to tell me what I want or do not want. Your job is to sell me what I want, not some low quality crap. Lastly, you do have the parfum I wanted in store. I checked before I went in and I saw it in the display, you lazy ignorant fuck. Next I go to try to buy sheets. The sheets I wanted are $130 online. I wanted to see them in store to get a feel for them. We ask an employee to show us, since the store was recently rearranged, and this one also decided she knows what I want better than I do and ignores my request to see the sheets I want and buy the Demask. She just refuses to show me the sheet I want because these $39 Demask sheets are sooooo good. I don't want cheap Demask sheets, I want what I asked for. So I leave because too much ignorance can not be tolerated in one shopping trip. We go back a week later to look at the sheets we wanted. Store is still in disarray from adding Backstage, so we still cannot find the sheets we want. Ask another employee for help and show her a picture of what we were looking for. She said, we have those in store, I will take you too them so you can get a feel for them. So we follow this woman to the sheets and she brought us to the mother fucking Demask!!!! WTF IS WRONG WITH THE EMPLOYEES?! Do they not know how to comprehend what people are saying?! Is Demask paying them off??! No wonder why more and more people shop online, you actually get what you want! read more

Very poor experience! I was purchasing almost $200 worth of clothing when the associate asked whether I wanted to open the new Macy's credit card with American Express , after I declined she asked again and added "you can save $37" . With that I agreed and gave her the necessary information. However after she rang it she said "oh it didn't go through you don't get the discount " and hurried to bag the clothes and get me out! Awful experience today at Macy's! I have never experienced such a rude encounter in my life. We wanted to check out and encountered an employee, Sandy, at the perfume counter who was so nasty to Orlando and I. We walked up to the counter and asked if we could check out. She responded with a sharp, rude "you have to wait I'm busy" then turned around and walked away. We were shocked and put our merchandise down and left the store. I expect better treatment from Walmart, let alone a premium department store like Macy's! read more
