You'll find lots here, different little designs and such. They don't have a very large selection on hoops earrings just a row. See, I'm a hoop kind of girl. What caught my eye was that some hoops are as large as someone's whole arm.. pretty heavy weighing off a cartilage of a ear. Ya know? They have sports, crosses, breast cancer ribbons, fake turquoise necklaces, bracelets, earrings and pins. The back is packed with custom made hats & caps. Scarves, bows, rings.. so much to list. When I came in the music of choice was not all appropriate.. I guess the owner must've accidentally flipped the switch to the dirty version. It played.. and some of the lyrics were the n word.. all awkwardly and loudly blurted out the intercom. She quickly changed it after she noticed me and another woman was in there. A big Oopsies... was smeared across her face. The prices all ended in the .99, so round up. All prepackaged and some unravelled to view how it looked. The place was pretty empty around 2-3p and I was pretty shocked to find parking in the front.

The boutique was smelling so nice inside, many of the oil fragrances were there throughout the store. Most of the stuff here was different and unique but was way pricier compared to other boutiques. This was my first visit to this place. The colors were mostly sober and selection was mostly casual with some trendy items, liked few things but generally were not to my liking. Staff were very friendly and were smiling and ready to help.

Oh, and just a note in reference to "Fashion C's" review, while Free People and Betsy Johnson have great designs, the clothes are a bit over-priced for the poor quality of their clothing. The quotation marks around the word "changing room" are there because it was really just a bathroom. And evidently there was some mysterious and elusive list that you had to get on to use the bathro, err. . .dressing room, but none of the sales associates bother even offering to put my name on the list even as I sat there with a dress in my hand waiting by the bathroom door. They do have a smaller men's section that contains seemingly only British style button-down shirts. Many of them were a bit on the girly side with way too much floral work, but that seems to be all the rage with hipsters so I'm sure they do well. Evidently they also have another store in the Woodlands (or was it Katy?) that carries the same stuff. While the clothes were pretty cute, some of it was a bit out there and it was much too trendy for my tastes. I just cannot justify spending that much money on something that is such a fashion statement and will be "out" next season.

For instance, I picked up a ruched black, asymmetrical jeweled shoulder minidress (a la Balmain, retail $3k+...) for around $100. There's no skimping on the quality either - all my dresses have held up perfectly through rainstorms, wine spills, and those crazy bar nights... I've sent friends over to Affection for all sorts of ocassions (weddings, school dance, mardi gras parties) and they always leave with a smile on their face. Paula is super sweet and is always willing to help you pick out a head to toe look for that special occasion. If you like trendy, stylish clothes that fit you like a glove for a reasonable price, Affection is the way to go. The best part for me is that I don't have to worry about 10 other girls having the same dress as me- Paula doesn't buy more than 3 dresses of each style. Affection also has some pretty amazing jewelry pieces and accessories. Recently, Paula added shoes to her collection, so be sure to grab a pair on your way out!
