A vet who makes house calls, whose prices are reasonable. Need I say more?

I've taken my young dog here to get his standard shots/exams, but this last week I took him in for a leg issue that turned out to need surgical intervention. Scary, and expensive news. But the team was so great. Got us in for a same day, after hours appointment, and scheduled his surgery within a week of calling in. Doctor Baum called me personally to explain what was happening, why he recommended the surgery, a video of how the surgery works, and a detailed estimate. Gave me time to process because it can be overwhelming mentally and financially. Staff all loved on my boy both visits - it's a good sign when your dog wags his tail entering the vets office. Day of the surgery doctor called me before and after surgery to check in, and reviewed the results with me. Private Equity firms are buying up practices and hospitals all over the country. It's important to support local businesses who care about your furry family members not just about the bottom line. Thank you BVH team

The tech who came right in, was very attentive & listened til I was done. The vet came in right away, Dr Tyler. Dr Tyler what a gem. His sweet calm concerned patient face. 1000,000,000/10 Low & behold, a vet who is not predatory. I did not know there was such a thing. Years of pet owning, all predatory except one other: Dr Menke. So, if you want to be looked after as well as your pet. These are your peeps. Conveniently located.

We have visited for a few reasons: - Baby teeth removal - Microchip implant - Neutered - Vaccination through out years - Removed 10 teeth (Yorkie's bad dental problem) - Knee problem - Bladder Stone removal - Blood work.. a lot of blood work - Urine tests - Annual exam - More and more..... to come Pretty easy to book an appointment at this location (except during Covid), and the follow up is on point by staffs and doctors. Price is average compared to other animal hospitals in Sacramento area. If you are looking for a vet, I highly recommend this place.

Very poor front staff. I wouldn't go here a third time. Looking at other reviews, I'm not the only…read moreone walking out annoyed. When I arrived, there were already multiple pets in the waiting area, including two small dogs that were growling at mine. My dog handled it well and stayed calm. However, when two men walked in, my dog barked out of discomfort. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the receptionist.. without even making eye contact.. said in a very dismissive/fake tone, "does your dog want to wait outside?" I waited outside, while the two men who came in after me got serviced before me? While waiting, the front desk staff also made an awkward joke about my dog "not being blue, but red," and then doubled down on it when no one laughed. It came across as unprofessional and uncomfortable rather than friendly. The bigger issue came during our appointment. When we were finally brought back, the nurse had completely incorrect information and thought we were there for a prescription related to incontinence. Something my dog has never had or been treated for. I had to re-explain that we were simply there for updated shots and an exam, which should have been clearly communicated beforehand but the front desk got that wrong too. I don't blame the nurse or the vet as they were nice as could be. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and dismissive. From the front desk interaction to the lack of accurate information, it didn't give me confidence in their communication or care. I hope they take steps to improve how the front desk interacts with both pets and owners.
