They just completed all their shots last month. Now I understand if the owner wants to meet the dogs first to see if its a fit, so I was hoping I could email all the records, and then bring them to this place on Friday morning, do the temperament exam or whatever, and then if its a fit, then I could leave them for the day. But no, she didn't want to entertain that. If you're coming from out of town, look elsewhere.

The next day we brought our dog and he gleefully went in and hung out with their dogs and had some "spa" services and returned to his suite. Picked him up the next day and he was so happy. What a great experience. Highly recommend this fantastic home away for any four legged family member!

After she confirmed who I was, I said I needed to grab my kids from the car and her response was, "okay, we're running late". As I gathered my two toddlers from my car with my dog, every part of me wanted to cry and say, I'm doing the best I can. It was a horrible way to start the day, the doctor couldn't have been nicer but I think in the future, there was a much better way that her staff could "greet" a new customer. It perpetuates the narrative that any one persons feelings/time is more valuable than another's... and that's just not a way I live my life or choose to treat other people. I deeply pray the next experience is met with more empathy and understanding as it was 2 minutes past the appointment time I was given.

They are very thorough with their guidelines but it's only to protect your dogs from choking on small things such as toys or treats. My GSD was known to have behaviors such as fear aggression and separation anxiety but their staff made him feel very welcome. I brought him in muzzled the first time to meet the place as I feared he would bit the staff, however, they requested I didn't muzzle him on his first time staying. To my surprise, not only did he not bite any of the staff, but he would also let himself be pet by all the care takers and play with them. I'm truly thankful for these guys.

My husband and I were traveling from western Washington to a music festival at the Gorge last…read moreweekend. Right after we got to the Vantage RV park where we were staying, my dog suffered a rectal prolapse (look it up because I really don't want to describe it here! Ack!). It was late on a Friday night so there were no vets open at the time. Being unfamiliar with the area, I searched for veterinarians the next morning and found Valley Veterinary Hospital in Ellensburg. They initially were booked up (it was a Saturday) but indicated they could do an after hours emergency appointment (which would've added $100-150 to our bill). They called me back within just a few minutes to say they had a cancelation and were able to get us in on a regular appointment. We got a little lost on the way there and missed our appointment time by about 15 minutes, but they were still able to see us. Although rectal prolapse is unusual, Dr. Rizor and his staff were able to fix it in the clinic, saving us potentially thousands of dollars on surgery. They were kind, professional, took very good care of my dog, and even stayed later than closing (without any additional charges) when my dog had a complication that required another procedure. Also, the cost was quite a bit lower than what we thought it might be, given all that they did. I would recommend Dr. Ben Rizor and his staff any day.

She had a bladder infection, so they told me to bring a urine sample. I had a devil of a time getting it, so they said they could take it from her bladder. The test results were no good because they had gone all the way through her bladder and into her bowel. Nothing else was done. She was almost 10 years old when I took her to my daughter's vet. Her heart was so enlarged that x-rays said it was cutting off her trachea and her esophagus. She could barely breathe. The vet referred us to Pullman. Long story short, a simple operation could have fixed her heart if we had caught it sooner. Meanwhile, her bladder was so infected that mats were floating in it. They gave her meds, which extended her life for about a year. She finally died of a kidney infection. All of this could have been prevented if anyone competent at that clinic had actually done anything besides shrugged their shoulders.

That being said we research where our puppy is going and give it a few tries to make sure he is treated right. Ellensburg Pet Lodge fills the bill as he can't wait to "check in" and when we pick him up he is happy to see us. When he gets home he collapses so we know he has a busy day not just stuck in a cage. Great staff and you can tell if someone is just putting up with animals or they have a passion for the work.
