The owners are so nice and caring about the animals. The other day I called at around 5pm, frantic, because my dog had fallen into an open septic tank (long story!!)!!! Laurie said bring her over now even though they were getting ready to close. She bathed her right away and didn't charge me!! They also do a good job with grooming and most days don't require appts. We've been bringing out dogs here for years now, and usually they do a pretty good job, but the last two times we brought the dogs there were terrible. The first time that didn't go well, they didn't do anything to the dogs. Our dog with longer fur tends to get her leg fur matted, and it looked like it wasn't touched at all. If anything, they smelled worse going out of the place than they did going in. They addressed this and gave us a discount for next time, so we assumed that this was a one time mistake and that there wouldn't be anything else that went wrong next time. Unfortunately, this time we sent them around, they messed up quite a bit. In the picture, you can see what they did to one of our dog's paws, all of his nails look as bad as those after they tried to what I would only assume was clip them with a pair of children's scissors. Our other dog was shaking the whole day after being taken home from the groomers, and we genuinely have no idea what happened to her while they were there. Usually I'd like this place, but I don't trust them after the last two times our dogs were there, unfortunately. read more

Great place for boarding our cat. The cat old and cranky, but she came home happy! Very friendly greeting and easy process!

I went here a while back to check out their 'doggie daycare". What a joke! The dogs were enclosed in a glass room to look outside and for passerbys to look in. But there was no one in there with them watching them and they were all barking like crazy. I asked the girl at the desk why no one was playing with them. She said "I guess she is on break". Yeah, if I wanted my dog to be alone and bark all day why would you take them to 'doggie daycare'? The ones I have taken my dog to in AZ, the dogs constantly are being supervised and someone is playing with them all day. Not stuck in a room with no outside play area. When this store was at its old location they also had a larger selection of pets and accessories. They only have fish here and a few birds. The birds for sell were oddly quiet, like someone is constantly yelling at them to shut-up or something. This place is a terrible excuse for a pet store and doggie daycare. read more

I really like this pet store. Macon Pets has a big selection of dog foods and treats. The staff was very helpful to us and was very knowledgeable. I wish this store was convenient to me because Warner Robins doesn't have anything but a Petsmart. read more

We're new to the area I was afraid it would be difficult to find a good grooming place for our Maltese. I am so glad I found this place! I love that they don't require an appointment and I can come in on pretty much any day that's convenient for me. They just let you know what time to come pick them up when you drop-off. Glenn was SO nice and friendly. He really knows his stuff about canine behavior and about the products he sells in the store. He even gave me samples of a dog food that's nutritionally better than what we feed him now, and priced the same! My dog was nervous (as normal) when we came in but calmed down right away when I passed him to Glenn. They really love these pups as their own. The groomer did a great job and my pup was happy as a clam when I picked him up! Highly recommend this place! read more

When I dropped my Bichon off to be groomed, he said, "pick him up at 5". At 4:45, I went back to pick Teddy up. The clerk/manager/owner said , " 5 o'clock, it's not 5"..So, I went away, and came back at 5. He said, "it will be just a few more minutes" A lady came out and said she was behind and could I give her about 30 minutes. I said ok, I will be back at 6. At 5:50, I went back in and he still wasn't ready. Then I figured out, they had NOT even started on him at 4:45, when I first went back. Now, if he had just said that, I would have took my dog home and gone back another day. When they brought the dog out at 6:15, his head and face was covered with hair. I had ordered a clean face and head, because Teddy's hair is wooley and so hot on him. They took him back and worked on him some more. The next time, the right half his head is short, and the left is still long, and his face hair is still long. By this time, I am getting upset and have to go get ready for work. I couldn't take any more of this. I took my dog and left. I hope I can post pictures. Behind his head, the left side is longer than the right side down behind his head. read more

I do not use it for Doggie Daycare, but I will tell you they have some of the best staff. If available I always use them for my boarding. My dogs are psychic and know what leash I take them to Macon pets on and they JUMP into the car and love on their staff. THANKS Macon Pets!!!! read more

Very rude receptionist. Honestly will never do business with them due to the phone receptionist, makes no sense to have someone answer the phone if they are going to hate their job. The greeter should bring people in not drive them away. read more

I took my elderly dog there last summer and was told to bring him in in the morning and pick him up in the afternoon. When I got him, his bladder was bursting, he had to poo, and he was extremely thirsty. They had not even had the decency to offer him a drink of water, much less take him out to the bathroom. I have since had people tell me horror stories about boarding their dogs with them. I would not take any living creature to these people. read more

I take my two rescue dogs to Macon Pets for grooming. My experience for the most part has been positive. Groomers come and go some do a better job than others. For the most part I have been pleased each time. One of my dogs was in a puppy mill before I got her and very nervous. She comes home from Macon pets behaving better than any other pet groomer I have used. Never used them for boarding the dogs do sometimes bark at people passing the windows but in my opinion that is to be expected. read more

Doggie daycare review: We were visiting family in Macon and wanted our dog to have a fun day as well and not just be cooped up while we were gone, but little did we know that is exactly what happened. Not knowing much about the area, I googled doggie daycares in the area and Macon Pet Resort & Spa appeared to be the best option for our furbaby. When we got there, we called our vet to fax over our dog's vet records to show that he had gotten his required vaccinations (he had), when the records didn't come after a couple minutes, the employee allowed our dog to go back to the doggie daycare anyway (which if our dog wasn't vaccinated, is dangerous for the other dogs). We then walk out of the store/daycare to find that the "daycare" is just a small room with 3 large divided kennels. And that our dog is alone is one of the large kennels scratching to get out when he saw us through the glass paneled wall. He was one of the 3 dogs there, and the other 2 were both too small for him to play with. Come to find out, this is all there is to this "doggie daycare" facility. There is no outdoor playtime, no one is supervising the dogs or playing with them at all. When we pick up our dog, he was so bored and just laying down. The doggie daycare they offer is HORRIBLE. I felt so guilty for leaving my furbaby there, and quite frankly, severely overcharged for the services provided. I would NOT RECOMMEND their doggie daycare to anyone. read more

I have to say that I leave my cats here often and one of them is on meds and they take good care of him. However, I do not think the place is all it should or could be as it always seems in disarray when I am there. My own cats are elderly and don't appreciate seeing or being at close quarters with dogs which is the norm here. The pet shop is too big whilst the kenneling area is too small and chaotic with little attention paid to putting items away. The person who owns the shop is very nice and I know they do take care of the cats but oh I do wish the place looked and smelled cleaner. It is difficult to say too much for fear of offending. I had my cats at a local vets office and in a large cage and they never took them out of the cage, never brushed them and in fact one of them came out lame where he had not been able to get up and move around for ten days so this place, whilst not perfect, does have kind people and space for my cats to move around in. read more
