I am so sorry to have to render this low review. I was really surprised at what we experienced here. Let me begin with the positive's thus the 2 star rating. The concierge staff (face to face) and restaurant staff were fantastic ... very accommodating and caring ... rendered services with a smile! Here we go! Well, once we were checked in and exited the elevator on our floor a stinky stuffy odor hit us immediately. It continued to fill our noses all the way down the hallway to our room door. Once in the room it was the same but somewhat concentrated (odor). I believe the odor was in the carpet (needed shampooing badly). There were also stains and wear showing in the carpet throughout the hotel. When we initially arrived we had to immediately get ready to attend a function. We hurried off after changing for our event. When we returned later that evening we called over and over to the concierge's number to ask about breakfast (no answer....never ever got anyone). Hubby and I gave up and got ready to turn in. When we turned our bed back it appeared to have already been slept in (badly loose and wrinkled sheets impacted in the wear pattern of the mattress's grooves). We called again, again no answer. We were so tired that we slept atop the bed. Later that night I got up to use the bathroom. When I turned the light on a roach ran across the bathroom floor (ughhh). Needless to say that we were so disappointed. This is a Marriott after all!!! We didn't expect this here. We're still In disbelief. I'll end my review on positive note. We found the breakfast staff to be accommodating and attentive. Our server was Ashley. She was reallly good ... a bright light during our stay. Another observation was a chef who we saw constantly monitoring the chafing pans and replacing pastries as needed. He was on the ball. Thank you chef Shawn! The breakfast menu is not vast but what is served there is very good (eggs, meats, breads, pastries, fresh fruits, yogurts, cereals, drinks and more). Lastly, we were surprised that this Marriott did not have an EV charging station. Verrry surprised. What we received here I'd expect from budget hotels. Very disappointed. Recommendation: look into other credible hotels around for the rate this hotel charges. The saving grace here for us is the staff.

This hotel and it's staff are okay. Nice. Professional. But.... It's the area in which this hotel is located that kills the review. I've never been to.a marriott that was located in an area that looks like you need a body guard to walk around with. The lobby is nice and typical of Marriott. The room I got was a standard queen/king set up. Nothing wrong with the room. The view looks out on abandoned brick buildings and grassy overgrown parkinglots of the abandoned buildings. There ARE nice restaurants in thw downtown area. But I highly recommwnd you DON'T walk to them. Drive or uber.

It's rare that I stay at a hotel multiple times but due to work I'm here several times a year. The hotel is great to support meetings. The bedrooms have everything that you need but cleanliness is an ongoing issue for me. On one occasion, I found hair ALL through the bedding (wasn't changed between guest). I didn't get in the bed to notice it until 10pm. I was told there was no housekeeping at that hour so a front desk staff member changed the bedding. On my latest visit, the shower wasn't clean and the flooring in the room was slippery. The door on the shower was also broken. Out of the 8 times I've stayed I've had an issue on 4 occasions. I requested a change in rooms twice based on several issues that are depicted in the photos. First room had bed bugs and human hair on a "clean" bed. Second room, had blood and unidentified yellow stains. The third room was fine other than the mold on the clear plastic shower liner. I don't think I was "picky" but rather expecting quality but most importantly cleanliness. It is not ok to use stained bed linen and expect customers to sleep on it! I was given access to the concierge lounge as compensation but I didn't have the need or the time to access it other than to get free coffee and water. I was traveling for work and sharing a rental car with a coworker. Had I not, I would've checked out. Marriott used to be a top brand hotel but I don't believe this is the case after recent stays in other hotels. CoVID shouldn't be used as an excuse for these issues. I will not stay here again. My coworker didn't have an issue with his room. Stay at your own risk.

I stayed here for a concert of Ronnie,Bobby, Ricky, Mike. RBRM half of new edition R&B group in early october. The lobby at this marriott is very inviting. Check in was fast with very courteous front desk associates. There is a bar and Starbucks on property. The parking area has plenty of space but not on this day. I believe everyone renting a room was here for the concert since it was just in walking distance next door at the coliseum. The room was spacious and clean and very comfortable. It was a bit noisey during the night due to so many people being there. In the morning I ordered room service which was very good and it came with two beverages included with breakfast. Most hotels charge additional for a drink but this hotel didnt. I had hot chocolate from Starbucks and orange juice. I would definitely stay here again if i ever come back to the area.

Stayed here for a training and would not return. The room was fine, but the conference space was no where close to Marriott standards. Oh, and to top it off, check out the pics I got of the cockroaches crawling around the hotel.

My husband and I came into town for a concert at the Macon Centreplex. This hotel is a short Uber/Lyft drive from the venue. The hotel is very clean, spacious and comfortable. They have a bar and a restaurant. We opted for the bar. They have a full bar with lots of options. We ordered some fried calamari, French fries and a salad. It was really good for bar food. We will definitely stay there again when we come to town. We were surprised at how much Macon has to offer. It's a super cute little town.

What really set this experience apart, though, was the people. From the moment we checked in, we felt welcomed. Hevert, the night manager, along with the security team, went above and beyond--sharing insights about the city and the rich history behind the building. That level of engagement makes a difference. We also had brunch at Loom, and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent, and Lucas at the bar crafted cocktails like a true professional--balanced, intentional, and memorable. Our server, Jay, was equally impressive. His demeanor, attentiveness, and genuine warmth made the experience even better. He's the kind of person you remember after you leave.

Now the actual lot is not fenced or gated, and in the area was quite sketchy. The hotel itself is modified well, the onsite restaurants are chic and the hotel is in a great walking distance to restaurants. The hotel is dog friendly with a $150 fee, which is pretty steep considering there is no actual designated dog area or amenities for them. Not to mention the hotel cost on a random Wednesday night for a double queen was around $300. Most of the restaurants and shops closed around 5 pm. There was no access to vending machines or snacks within a close distance. If you wanted anything it would have to be purchased through the upstairs bar. I will say the staff were welcoming and polite, but upon checking in we were given a room key that already had guests in the room. My son was the first to open the door and I can't imagine if he had walked into a room of a person getting changed..... so big mistake there. The rooms are nicely updated, I love SMEG appliances but our mini fridge was loud when the motor kicked in. It's no 4 seasons but probably the classiest establishment in Macon, GA.

On the plus side, the staff has always been friendly and helpful. Rooms have been clean, and the beds comfortable. I appreciated that the A/C worked well, and the common areas like the restaurant were clean and up-to-date. Breakfast was fine -- they offer both a buffet and cooked-to-order options. It wasn't extraordinary, but it was good and did the job. I didn't use the pool, but it looked well-kept. My main complaint is with the bathrooms. On my last stay, it was clear that there was mold that had been painted over. I could actually smell the paint and see the mold starting to come through again. On top of that, the bathroom fan didn't work, which only makes the problem worse. While housekeeping does a good job with day-to-day cleanliness, the bathrooms really need a full renovation instead of temporary cover-ups. If those issues were addressed, this would be a solid and reliable hotel stay. Until then, I'd say it's "okay" but not up to the standard I expect from Hilton.

On Tuesday…read moreevening, May 5th, we went directly to the front desk IN PERSON to cancel the final night of our reservation for May 7th. We spoke with Megan, who told us the cancellation had been "released on their end" and specifically instructed us to contact Hotels.com for the refund because the hotel had already handled their side. Now Hotels.com is claiming the hotel NEVER canceled the reservation, and when we called the hotel back, we were told there are "no notes in the system" and apparently no record of the conversation at all. Trying to resolve this with Hotels.com and the hotel has been a nightmare. Multiple calls, being transferred around, language barriers making communication extremely difficult, endless "so sorry for bad experience" responses, yet absolutely NO actual help or accountability from either side. The hotel says it wasn't canceled, Hotels.com says the hotel never notified them, and meanwhile the customer gets stuck paying for a room they canceled TWO DAYS EARLY in person. Beyond the cancellation issue, the stay itself was not pleasant. The beds were hard as a rock and incredibly uncomfortable. The bathroom was so tiny you could practically touch the door while sitting on the toilet. You had to walk to another building entirely just to get breakfast. To top it off, the toilet clogged during our stay and nobody could even bring a plunger until the next morning. Overall this was an extremely frustrating experience from start to finish, with poor communication, poor customer service, and zero accountability. We absolutely would not stay here again and would strongly recommend others think twice before booking here, especially through Hotels.com.
