Giving one star because apparently -75 is not an option. We spoke to Mat at Macneil Motors on a Friday about getting approved to trade in our car. We explained that we currently had a joint loan and that one of us was working and had a drivers license but not so great credit and the other had no license, was on sick leave from work but had decent credit and they said it wouldnt be a problem. We went in to see what they had and they told us we were approved but only for one car and then pushed that on us even though we told Mat multiple times that we did not want a Ford. We agreed to it but then came back the next day after thinking about it to back out. That was when we got involved with Barrett who put us in a Corolla, told us we were approved, had us sign all the paperwork and then insisted that we drive it home that day with a dealer plate and come back on Monday for safety and temporary plate.
We went back Monday but couldn't get the inspection done, he gave us a copy of the paperwork and then sent us home with an appointment to come back Thursday for the inspection and temp plate. After getting home and sending off paperwork to insure the car, we noticed that the information on the paperwork was false, they lied to the bank and said that my spouse was working at the hospital, had a made up drivers license number, did not include our down payment on the paperwork and the kms on the car were off by over 10000. I went back the next day and asked them to fix the errors and he did but not before telling me that the bank doesnt actually care where you work or what your master number is.
Skip to Thursday, I show up for my appointment and after waiting an hour they offer to drive me back to work while I wait and deliver the car when it's ready. Great, finally some decent service.... Wrong.
They then decided to bring me back my car, which the insurance had been removed from. They called to say they were bringing it and I told them to put it back in the dealership parking lot because it wasnt insured and they couldnt drive it. At that point I called the finance manager and asked if we were actually approved for the loan and he said not yet. I gave him an hour to get us approved and he called back 20 minutes later saying we were denied. I told them to come get me so we could figure it out and he said that my car was at my work, I looked out the window and there she was, parked there, unlocked with the keys in it - Still not insured. When I mentioned this to them they said "oh I guess we didnt think about that did we".
We also checked several times with the current loan company and were told that they hadnt even been contacted about the car, and when I questioned Lloyd about this he told me that they wont give him that information and we have to get it. Funny because they have a direct line to the bank to get that info.
Head back to the "Dealership" to get my stuff out of the car that I had been driving as mine for a week and get a refund on the down payment and they had to e-transfer it to me because apparently their debit machine wouldn't allow a $550 transaction.
Then yesterday I notice that they pulled the Bryden sticker off the car and put their own on, so I bring the car in today and tell them to remove it, which they did, then proceeded to treat me like a crazy person who was upset for no reason. Still, I said what I had to say, that they had no business putting their sticker on my car without my permission and was getting ready to leave when the owner says from behind his door (I asked for him or the other finance manager but didn't get either of them) "Would you rather have a license plate cover? It's easier on the paint" Proving that they have no idea that they even did anything wrong.
And Brenan, Lloyd, Barett, Mat and the other asshat I dealt with today if you're reading this.... I'm also in the process of registering complaints with the BBB(Not that you care because you're not accredited), the bank and Access Nova Scotia, and in your own words, " you have a GREAT day!" read more
