Fun to go with a friend or by yourself. Only downside was no wifi (or at least not that works), but a hotspot can solve the problem. Great service from kind employees! Back in the US now but if I ever go back I'll have to stop here again.

However, the guys on shift were great and sorted it all out real quick plus they chucked in a sneaky vegan pie to make up for it. Big cheers guys.

I honestly love my second hand bookshops, though if you have been following my reviews you…read morecertainly know that already. This place was no different, and of course the staff were nothing short of awesome. They had plenty of books to browse, it it had that really musty feel about it that I love with some of these places. I guess if there was a gripe and that is that while the books were set out in genre, they didn't have any particular order within the genre, which meant that it was pretty difficult to browse the collection.

I would say that I happen to have an eye for second-hand books shops, but it actually seems to be…read moremore the case that I just stumble upon them as opposed it being able to spot them from miles away. Okay, I'm probably more attuned to them that the average punter, particularly since I saw that one from someway down the road. However, there wasn't a huge range in here that grabbed my attention, but then again it is a second-hand bookshop, and it sells second-hand books, so I will certainly give it points for that.

This really isn't one of the best bookshops that I'd visited, namely because the selections here…read morewere pretty limited. Okay, they did have some books that were of interested, but they were also a bit pricey. The service was okay, but honestly, it really wasn't one of the best. As a bookshop it was okay, but really, it wasn't all that great either.

Favourite Chair Cafe is a wonderful little space. I stumbled across it one day and was so pleased…read morethat I did. Located in the Maitland Heritage Mall, with the river just behind it, it's intimate and very chill. The coffee is quite good and the food was great (both times I've been there). Prices are slightly higher than a standard franchise cafe and service is very good. Favourite Chair is right next door to a book shop, which they have integrated with. At the end of your meal you receive at discount voucher for the bookstore. It's a percentage of your total bill. In the winter it can get a bit too cold to sit outside, summer, it can get a bit too hot (although they do have some umbrellas). I've not yet sat inside though. Each time I went, all seats were taken (which isn't a bad sign) Would recommend.

Only thing I could complain about is that they stop serving at 12.00pm on Saturdays and are shut on Sundays.

There is everything for kids to adults and a nice little range of costumes and stuffed toys as well. Suffice to say it's a little slice of home heaven that got me giddy the moment I walked past on the Queen's Birthday public holiday. I made a mental note to return and earned more motivation upon learning they had 30% off Kip&Co this week. The stock is carefully curated and there's not great quantities of everything. To me, this is part of the charm and wonder of a store that stocks such niche Australian brands. The staff are as warm as the pops of neon colours across the ranges and were only too happy to put a few towels on hold for me til I could make it back to the store. They do sell online as well but why would you when you can grab a coffee from Glee Roasters and stroll down to the physical store and play in a world of homewares heaven?

Actually wasn't expecting anything much, but indeed a pleasant surprise! The Gallery is housed in the old Maitland Technical College building, which has been superbly adapted and expanded to produce an excellent, quality art space. The gallery is a very welcoming place and the staff were so helpful and friendly. The art works are beautifully displayed. Luckily for me, there was an excellent exhibition of Jim Cooper's ceramics and the Archibald Prize entries were also on display, on regional tour. I had a most enjoyable morning perusing the artworks and afterwards the well-stocked gift shop. Finally, morning coffee and a delicious home-made pastry at the gallery cafe. The cafe was excellent, and is clearly well-known in Maitland, as it was packed!! Definitely the best cafe I've found in Maitland so far.
