Located in the Maitland Heritage Mall, with the river just behind it, it's intimate and very chill. The coffee is quite good and the food was great (both times I've been there). Prices are slightly higher than a standard franchise cafe and service is very good. Favourite Chair is right next door to a book shop, which they have integrated with. At the end of your meal you receive at discount voucher for the bookstore. It's a percentage of your total bill. In the winter it can get a bit too cold to sit outside, summer, it can get a bit too hot (although they do have some umbrellas). I've not yet sat inside though. Each time I went, all seats were taken (which isn't a bad sign) Would recommend.

You can sit inside on their retro furniture and read a book of their full wall of bookshelves or sit up along the bank of the Hunter River. Is adjacent to the book shop next door and you get a discount on your receipt to spend in there. Recommend all visitors to go for Saturday morning breakfast. Only thing I could complain about is that they stop serving at 12.00pm on Saturdays and are shut on Sundays.
