This campus was the perfect venue to have four rib vendors, Tiny Tom Donuts, and a corn and lemonade truck set up shop, while accommodating hungry rib eaters in vehicles. I was impressed. When leaving the ribfest, you are forced to turn right and loop around Trafalgar Square (aptly named, although I do miss the real one in London, UK) before you exit the campus. Instead, I took the time to check out the buildings at Trafalgar Square. It's a modern campus. A huge letter S is there, if you feel like posing next to it. The buildings look modern. Greys and rustic red colours seem to dominate the look and field of this campus. It has a comfortable vibe. This campus houses the Faculty of Animation, Arts, and Design. No wonder the architecture looks so clean and crisp! It also offers programs in science and technology, and health and community studies. For some reason, I have always felt comfortable on any campus, regardless of whether I have attended a class or am a tourist. I was the latter last Saturday and I felt like I fit in. I suppose that I'll always be a student at heart. I ended up eating half my rib meal in my car, parked at one of the main campus parking lots. I didn't see any campus parking police for the half an hour that I was parked without paying for it. I'm such a risk taker... haha! I was more hungry than anything. There are emergency phones scattered around the campus in case you need them. I felt safe and it's comforting. (341)

If you have a holiday? ... not from Sheridan you don't. you have midterms? not without being overloaded with assignments and other tests. You need help from their admin on paperwork, marks or anything else? good luck, the women running it never responded and only have weeks of begging from the whole class and then escalating it to the head of the program did this women finally send what was needed with no explanation or apology. With Covid in place this college was so unprepared and handled the entire thing so poorly that it was painful to watch and listen to all the stress and headaches it caused. My wife would be at her desk studying and doing online classes from 5am to 8pm straight... and still not have enough time in the day to get all this done and she was a straight A student. This is one of those places where some teachers pride themselves on "Most of you will fail if I have anything to say about it!" Test will include critical errors. You could get 90% on the test but you do one little mistake on a certain question... instant fail. They will demand you get 90% in certain classes to fail, 90%!!! Never in any workplace that I have be at has that high of an expectation been required. I have heard great things about this college but after having to experience the student life of a hard working mom almost killing herself to keep up to an insane, unbalanced mismanaged workload... I have a strong alternative perspective on that perception.

This place sure has changed a lot over the last few years…read more I've visited UTM often over the last decade, not as a student, but as a writer covering various events. I've sat in lecture halls, toured the campus, gotten to know some of the professors - and I still haven't paid a dime for tuition. All the knowledge, none of the insane fees! For what it's worth, this campus is still as beautiful as it's always been, though I found myself getting lost when I visited (as of this writing) last week. I came here for a lecture event with Margaret Trudeau as part of the campus' 50th anniversary celebrations, and was very impressed with the event overall. I'm not sure if I've ever been to a lecture where the Vice-Chair of the school openly mused about whether one-fifth of the student body was at risk of mental illness, but that's what I got and more, as Margaret spent an hour-and-a-half talking about her life and struggles to combat bipolarity at a time when there wasn't much known about the disorder. I'm not sure if the student body appreciates this place as much as I do. I watched kids in greasy sweatpants, low-cut tops and ugly-looking clothes file out of lecture halls like a swarm of ants, mindlessly flowing to their next class without any thought or care of what's going on around them. They really should - when you actually look at this place, it's genuinely impressive. The building I visited (the Innovation Centre) had a very nice open-concept restaurant, where you can buy food and sit on padded leather couches by the massive windows that overlook the sprawling campus. The main building offers a ton of choice (though they haven't really upgraded that or changed the vendors in a long time), while the library has a great selection of books and ephemera. I give special shoutout to the staff members who attended the lecture, especially Ulrich Krull, who seemed to remember me from the last time I visited the campus (when Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi visited for a talk). There are so many events, gatherings and free lectures that take place here that you'd be a fool not to visit the campus at least once. Barring the sprawling campus that might leave you a bit dizzy, there's plenty to see and do here. Well worth a look. (Also, shoutout to the Medium student newspaper. You do great work, though I'm not sorry for taking one of your "preferred" media spots five feet away from where Ms. Trudeau sat. First come, first serve, baby.)

The entire campus is littered with buildings from different era's that once used to house a mental asylum. While I was attending to do my post-graduate degree there, the rumours of haunted underground tunnels and late night spookiness was rampant amongst the student population. The campus is surrounded by nature and trails that follow the shores of lake Ontario and it's not uncommon for many students to be studying out by the water when the weather is nice. The facilities are limited compared to the North Campus. Since the student body is smaller on this campus, there is a shortage of cafeterias and food halls that are open during the odd hours or those who have really late classes. Parking is also another issue that many students have trouble with since there is very limited paid parking spots and student parking is often located on the other side of campus which is about a 10 minute was from most classes making it an issue in terms of security and health during the cold dark winters. I really did enjoy my time here, the campus is beautiful but I highly recommend looking at offsite food options (there are many in the neighborhood that caters to students with many student discounts available) for those who are staying in the residence halls or attending late night classes.

You basically pay 16 grand to self teach. Very disappointed and would not recommend if you can't self teach.
