I am really not sure what has happened to this company, but it used to be a wonderful company and easy to deal with. I ordered a case of shells, and a call. upon receiving my package, there was one box (9 boxes short of a case) and it was the completely wrong ammo, not what I ordered. The lady at customer service was very rude, arguing with me and telling me that I did get the correct shells, when I had them in my hand and had emailed her an image of what was received. they were not in fact the correct shells. She informed me that she didn't know when the rest of the shells would be shipped and they appeared to be out of stock (they were listed in stock on their online inventory) and after arguing with me about that, I told her I'd be glad to pay for the one box, but I wished to cancel the order. She told me it could take a while to process, which I do understand, and that she had set the refund in motion and to check back in two weeks is when I should expect to see it. Fast forward three weeks (left one extra week for good measure) and still no return. I call and inquire, I am told that there is no refund to be seen but after explaining everything, and seeing that there had been issues with the file, he set the return in motion. Fast forward 4 days, I see the refund come through, but for the value of the shells only, not the call. I politely inquire again, and and told that he can see where the call was returned, it not refunded so set the refund in motion. And now I am patiently waiting another 2-3 weeks (with business days only) to see a full refund from a completely botched order. I understand that we all make mistakes, but the way this was handled, the return not being set in motion initially, and then the initial phone call with the lady arguing with me telling me I did receive the correct item when it definitely was not the same box of shells I had ordered, really all just turned me off of MPW. I grew up ordering out of the catalogs as a young kid, and MPW catalogs inspired me to always want to hunt flooded timber green heads form a young age. Rest in peace to what used to be a good company, and thank you for the times it was good, but I think I am committed Roger's customer now. Save yourself the hassle, don't shop here. read more

I have ordered ammo several times online and have never had a problem. Also any order over $99, ships for free, which is a plus to me. Last Friday I order some ammo and noticed over the weekend that I had ordered some of it wrong. Monday morning I called and had excellent customer service. They removed the wrong ammo and left the correct ones. Although the order was now below $99, they still shipped it for free. I would definitely continue ordering from Mack's!!! read more

Always have been satisfied with MPW. Unfortunately, I am not at this point. Apparently if you buy something on the website and pay with PayPal, you can not exchange the items only return. Which makes no sense at all. I sent my on sale items back to exchange for a different size and called to follow up on my order that I did not receive yet. They told me I was refunded and the exchange did not go through. They would not honor the on sale items for me and I payed $40 to ship my items back which I lost out on. $3000 product (80-85lb pump) ordered on 11/1/20. Paid $200 charge for shipping in the shopping Cart at checkout even though two other online retailers were $50... I went with the more "well known" retailer. I'm sorry I did. -I received a confirmation email that the order shipment date was 11/2 -I asked for a tracking number or Tuesday, and was told it was being shipped out Via Estes truck which is "why the shipping was so high" and it would be sent out Tuesday or thursday. -I haven't received tracking number (see date of post) -I received another email from UPs GROUND On November 5 that label was created but ups has not received the package! I was charged tax on shipping and product - they wouldn't cancel the product before it shipped, and their policy is store credit! Can't wait for this one!! Uncustomary shipping pricing, extreme slow shipping time already, and I don't even know if the thing has shipped yet, some made up brush off excuse (apparently, according to the parcel documentation) for not having a tracking number. It's the highest priced product on their website and 10% higher than other retailers... I tried to cancel it if they couldn't get me a tracking number by a certain time, that was brushed aside.... and in reading their policy, refunds would be applied in store credit! Haha! Can't wait for this one. Figured I'd get another brush aside or pathetic service if I contacted them again to try and figure this out, so I'll just go with the review. An explanation and mitigation of this would be nice. Lots of rifles, handguns, and shotguns to choose from, too. They also have a fishing section, bargain cave, and a bow/archery shop. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The vest they show on the web site is a NWTF vest with the logo on the front of the vest in 2 places and it is listed as a a NWTF Long Spur in the description. The vest showed up in 4 days, but its not a NWTF vest, just a plain Long Spur. Called Customer Service, sent a pic of what I got, called back the next day and they said there are 2 versions and you get what they send, but they don't have the NWTF version to send. What a load of crap! They said if I would like I could send it back for a refund, and sorry. While prices are very competitive online, their customer service is atrocious. I ordered a Lucky Duck Goose decoy online. After I ordered the decoy, I went on the website to check a couple of days later and found that the decoy was backordered. I never received an email or a phone call stating the item was backordered. When I called in to find out what was going on and how long it would take to get the item, the customer service rep just said it would be a while before getting more. Hands down Mack's has the best gunsmith around. In basically 30 seconds he recognized I had a bent trigger mechanism he had the part in stock replaced it and went through the entire gun to check it. My first online purchase from Mack's was a new shotgun. They had what they said they had in stock. 1 day after ordering, the store was shutdown for multiple days due to the ice/snow storm. With this being said, I still received the shotgun within 9 business days (which I was pleased with). During the shutdown both my calls and emails to customer service were responded to. So we had some Lacrosse waders that were under warranty that we purchased here at the end of last duck season. We were hunting the river in Little Rock a few weeks ago and the waders started leaking. We patched them up some so we could continue to hunt and were nowhere near Macks to take them back. Macks would not honor the warranty because we had tried to patch them. Macks is not getting one more dime of our money. Customer service and using good common sense to help out a repeat customer in those situations was just nonexistent. My husband ordered blind bags for our sons for Christmas this year. Personalization was free, so he had them monogrammed. When they arrived, they were not personalized. I contacted customer service and was told they were not personalized because my husband didn't pay for the personalization. I explained that it was free because of the promotion they were running at the time. She then offered to have their "Return" department contact me to have them returned and monogrammed. However, she was not able to tell me if they were going to be back in time for Christmas. She said "it depends on how backed up our monogramming department is". I asked to speak with someone who could help me because this was not our error. The customer service rep told me that "she" was no longer there (the supervisor?), and I would have to call back in the morning. She gave me an extension and a first name. I am beyond livid. What ever you do, DON'T, just DON'T make your purchase at Mack's Prairie Wings, especially if it's a higher priced item. I just experienced one of the worst online purchase experiences out of any I have had over the past 5 years. I tried to purchase a $480 pair of Nikon Monarch 7 Binoculars online, and Mack's Prairie Wings essentially presumed that I was a criminal until proven innocent. At first they delayed my purchase a day by asking for the phone number for my credit card company to verify some details. Then 3 days later, item still had not shipped, that asked me to get on the phone with my credit card company to further prove that I was not a criminal. At the time, I was busy, and I did not have some of the details on hand that I needed. I gave up and told them to cancel the transaction, that I would purchase somewhere else. I have never been through such a fiasco in all my years of making online purchases. Tell me what business out there assumes that their customers who want to give them money, are guilty criminals until proven innocent??? Especially for a small $480 purchase. It should be the other way around. A business should treat a customer as a legitimate, sincere customer until there is a reason to think otherwise. It's obvious that Mack's Prairie Wings carries a culture that doesn't trust their own customers. This untrusting culture of this business is important for every potential customer to know before you make a large purchase. You can see in other reviews here how other customers were turned away with a warranty situation. This does not surprise me. I'm sure Mack's assumed that the customer who wants to warranty a faulty item is trying to sabotage them in some way, instead of presuming that the customer is innocent and has received a faulty product, then doing the right thing to honor the warranty. In a nutshell, customer service, and their ethics of doing business at Mack's Prairie Wings is atrocious. Save yourself the hassle, and potential customer service woes, as have been detailed by others regarding warranties, and just buy your item somewhere else. There is nothing that Mack's carries that Amazon.com does not. Cabella's is another option. Amazon has always been stellar for me over the years. They don't make you jump through hoops, and they don't assume you are a guilty criminal until proven innocent. Chances are, you will find the same item for much cheaper on Amazon.com anyways. If you need to return a faulty product, Amazon accepts the return, no questions asked. Amazon also processes the order quickly and ships your item out quickly as you would expect by an online business that values their customer's loyalty and time. So if you want to purchase your merchandise from Mack's Prairie Wings, expect a relationship with them where trust does not exist. If you have an issue with your purchase, Mack's will likely deem you a criminal intent on exploiting them. Just DON'T go down this route with this business. Purchase somewhere else. Placed an order online and after a week of no email telling me the order was shipped I had to contact MPW only to find out my order was being canceled due to the item no longer being carried. Now that the order has been canceled on their end and because the funds were already authorized I'm having a hard time getting them to cancel the authorization. I was told I had to contact PayPal and after contacting PayPal they told me MPW has to cancel the authorization. Luckily I went through PayPal for this transaction but unfortunately if MPW doesn't know how to drop the authorization it takes 30 days for the funds that are being held for that authorization to go back to your balance. This would've been a first purchase from this company and it will be my last. Sounds like you have better luck with in store purchases from the other reviews. read more

Worst customer service in the world. Ordered a wader jacket by phone for my son for Christmas. The guy double checked to make sure they had the size and color we wanted. They did, but we were told it was the last one in stock. We paid for it over the phone and received a confirmation email. By Dec 23rd it still hadn't shown up. We called customer service and were told it was out of stock and back-ordered and we would receive it in 2 to 4 WEEKS. I was pissed. The woman I talked to said they had another jacket of the same kind and size but in a different camo pattern. While I was on the phone with her I looked at the other pattern on my phone and agreed to change the order to the new pattern. After having to ask, I got them to throw in free rush shipping and was told it would ship out on the 24th, but even with that it would not get to us until the 26th - the day after Christmas. My son was going hunting on the 27th and 28th, so I triple checked with her that we would receive it on the on the 26th. She even checked with her manager and assured me we'd get it on the 26th. Now it's the 26th and.. no jacket. I called customer service again to find out what was going on and was told by that it just shipped out today, the 26th. She told me "I don't know why they told you it would ship on the 24th, because we never ship anything on the 24th or 25th." My husband & I have shopped at Mack's for 20 years. We've purchased several pairs of waders over the years and occasionally have leaks and have been able to return them while under warranty. Last year (November 2013) we purchased two pairs of waders. After ONE use, the waders started leaking and we returned them. The store had them on sale by that time, so they gave us $70+ credit on a gift card. In April of this year we tried to purchase online a boat seat but they had none in inventory. So we ordered the boat seat (free shipping) from Cabela's. The first of June, we ordered a push pole system with Mack's online and was told it was on backorder and would be here July 7th. No push pole came. We called and was told it was on backorder until August something and they would overnight to us. August came & went. My husband called & complained and asked to speak to supervisors, who continued to tell him it's on backorder. He (my husband) has left several messages for Chuck Lock who is Mr. McCollom's (the owner of Mack's) business partner and according to the website is big on customer service - however, he has YET to return my husband's call. Here it is October - still no push pole and no one seems to know when it'll be in but YET they have our $70+. Like the other reviews on this website - - Mack's will NEVER get another dime of our money - - crap, they made $70+ off of us and we didn't get anything for it. Their waders leak, the prices aren't that great - - we can order online or phone from Cabela's, get free shipping for the same price.
