They even rolled out the red carpet (literally) to ensure that my new floors and hardwood stairs would not be damaged while moving the appliances to their locations on different floors. Jeff and his crew were courteous and, while I was upset that the property managers had not placed the elevator on service, Jeff and the guys were unfazed and said that since there was only one flight of stairs to deal with it was actually easier and quicker for them to use the stairs! Over the phone and by email, Shelley handled all of my long-distance requests (I was in the States and my daughter is in Halifax) with patience, and always in a timely manner. She accommodated our need for overnight storage, and worked with our timing to get out of one place and into another. The day of the move, which happened during the NS wildfires, the company's timing got a little derailed, through no fault of their own. When that impacted my daughter's move, they proactively waived some fees as compensation, and worked with her to make sure that they could still get the move done in time. Shelley sent over an extra mover, and when we suggested doing the move right into the new place, without the overnight hold (we were able to get her into the new place earlier than expected!), Shelley rolled with the punches, and pivoted to execute the move in one day. The extra mover (which we were not charged for) and the whole crew worked quickly but carefully, and got the move done in record time. Overall, it was tremendous value for what we got, and the move was done faster than we expected! Being far away was stressful for me, but Shelley made sure that everything ran smoothly and that my daughter was taken care of. I would highly recommend Gentle Giant for your local move. On the day of pick up I was handed a bill at the quoted price, and paid the bill by credit card over the phone. $914 After the pick up I received an email stating that they would be increasing my bill because the weight of my items was higher than expected, despite their walk through inspection of my home. I was told I would receive a revised bill. I did not receive this in the two week period between my pick up and subsequent delivery. On delivery day, the truck did not show up. I had to call the company to ask what was happening, and as it turns out, my rep did not reschedule my delivery despite my phone call 3 weeks previously when I spoke directly to the rep. We organize to have my items delivered the following day. When my movers show up to deliver my items, I am handed an envelope with 2 credit card receipts. One is the receipt for the payment of my bill on the day of pick up, and one for $916, charged to my card without my knowledge or consent on the day of the missed delivery of my items. At that time I had still not received a "revised bill" for my services. BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE, and do not use them if you have another choice.
