I'm having so much fun at UNR this year! A lot of enthusiasm surrounds activities at Mackay Stadium during football season especially. Tailgating is no exception. But being very supportive of a family member that is attending this year does not include a Keg Stand! Try as they might, I managed to escape that embarrassing experience!!! This is a wonderful facility and so far have attended a few games. They have great food kiosks and beverage of the alcohol nature as well. Go Wolf Pack!!!!!

Mackay Stadium Isn't the largest or most updated College football stadium but I believe it may have some of the most loyal/friendly fans! I attended my first football game in November 2022. It was a bitterly cold evening game with blowing snow. I watched as fans started lining the metal bleachers with blankets & winter gear. Luckily, I sat in a suite (indoor and outdated) but warm with great views of the field. People love Nevada Football and it shows! #gopack

I live Nevada football and am a season ticket holder. The games are great to watch fucking audio in the stadium absolutely sucks. Can not hear a single referee call because they play music over announcements from the field and the refs. I hope to give the stadium a better rating later.

Not as packed as I thought it would be on Nevada's side.

There's always a first for everything! This was my 1st time at Mackay Stadium. It was also my first time at a college football game. This college's stadium made a great first impression on me. So much so, that I'll have to come back & watch another game. Tons of parking everywhere. I parked near the football stadium, a little past the baseball fields. It wasn't a far walk to the stadium from my car. As I was walking to the game, I noticed that a lot of students were tailgating in the nearby parking lot right next to the stadium. It's cool that the college students show up to the games & show support for their school (and maybe get a little tipsy in the process.)(; One of the only inconviences I experienced was having to take my clutch purse back to my car. It was supposedly too big. Even though it was within the size requirements which was 4x6. I wasn't allowed in until I took it back. Once I got into the stadium, the first thing I noticed was the huge bleachers ! I couldn't believe how tall they were. The bleachers looked as if they had an endless amount of stairs. There were plenty of places to sit to get a good view of the game. During half time, I went down to see what kind of food they had. It was awesome to see that there were different vendors at the game. I was expecting there to be a little snack bar with little to choose from. Boy, was I wrong. There was a popcorn stand, a caramel apple stand, a pizza stand, a bbq stand, a beer stand & then 2 different snack bars that served food & beer. Also, people will walk around the bleachers throughout the game to sell cotton candy & drinks. After looking through to see what my options were, I chose to go the Bbq route. Famous Dave's ribs are what I ordered. With a side of their home made mac n' cheese. Dave's makes some of the most lip- smackin' finger-lickin' food around! I would recommend them to anyone who likes good old fashioned Bbq. It was nice to not have to leave & miss part of the game when we got hungry. All we had to to was go downstairs to find some yummy food. I really don't know what I enjoyed more. The game or the food at the game! Either way, I'll be back here for both.

My home stadium! Visited for a few events this afternoon. One of them being my sons Football camp. Always a great time! Very clean, good food, staff is quick and efficient setting up, good parking for tailgating and the ambience is great! Have attended many, many games, events and its always a blast! Let's go pack!

How has this place not been added to Yelp? Home of the Wolf Pack football team. This stadium is smaller than most college stadiums but still a good size. Stadium seating at it's finest. Lost of merchandise and food/beer vendors. Most seats have a great view of the field. It's small enough you feel right in the action but big enough to give you the big game feel. Bathrooms aren't in the best shape, or the cleanest, but are they ever at stadiums? Parking is fairly easy with lots of campus parking all around (free for football games). You can arrive before the game and tailgate w/ plenty of room to spare. Exiting after a game is time consuming, but it always is for college events. Overall, a great place to watch the Wolf Pack football team bring home a victory!!

A ton of fun for the whole family... seats are affordable and the atmosphere isn't too crazy. No matter where you sit, the view is good. We also haven't had any negative experiences with other fans which is really nice. Hoping to go to many more events here!

I attended the WSU vs Nevada game at the stadium and here are my gripes. First, it is a long way up to the seats at the top of the stadium while all the bathrooms and beverages are at grade. The scoreboard has a TV but it isn't HD. The quality is so bad it would almost be better if they didn't have it. I had a water bottle with me for the day because it was hot in the desert. They wouldn't let me take an empty water bottle into the stadium so I lost a prized possession. And last but not least, Nevada won. On the bright side, their fans were nice and I wish them luck with the rest of their season.

    Tailgating for homecoming!

Not a bad stadium, access ok, fun, seems like a high school stadium, if you are in the area it is worth a ticket.

Registration for the team was done online and wasn't too complicated. Before our first game we had to obtain players cards - the process was easy and only took a few moments. It was also easy to get another later in the season when I lost my original one (whoops!). You are required to give the card to the employee out of the field before the start of the game so they know that every player on the turf is registered. We played the full season and our games ranged from around 6PM to as late as 10PM. 10PM is brutal especially during winter. It was freezing outside and freezing inside. No matter their efforts the field area is still quite cold. My team and I warmed up in the bar area but a dedicated warm up space would be really nice as the bar area was quite crowded most times and made finding a place to stretch hard. We didn't have any of our games rescheduled so I appreciated that as I was worried we may face that concern. Luckily our schedule remained the same throughout the season. I will say as a new player the inconsistent refs were a challenge. One game a penalty would be called, the next nothing. One game they would add players based on the time elapsed and the score, they next they would tell us that only happens in the children's leagues. Not very helpful for those of us brand new to the game and trying to learn the rules and flow. I will say what I appreciate the most about this place is how understanding they were. I was asked to play on a team the following season and after one game realized it wasn't a smart move for my foot. I called and explained my situation and the employee was nice enough to refund my money for the season and let me off the hook of playing. That was very kind. I got a check in the mail about a week after I called and I was grateful for how easy they made it. I appreciate the customer service and it kind of out weighs the awkward parking, cold field and inconsistent refs.

At the end of the month I felt much improvement. The facilities are fantastic! In the Physical Therapy part the equipment is top notch and the staff keeps all the tables and machines sterilized after each use. The other parts of the Sportsdome looked very intriguing for use as a year-round practice facility. There was soccer practice field, a 3/4 size football field, basketball courts, volleyball courts, golf practice area, baseball facilities, plus other areas that we were unable to see. There were tables outside of the practice areas so the parents could sit and watch the children practice through large glass floor to ceiling windows. They even have a snack bar with alcohol sales for the parents to pass the time while waiting for their kids to finish. Reno really needed this kind of facility to give the youth somewhere to practice yearly. It's nice to have the rehab facility right there if a child gets injured.

We still make it a habit to hang out afterwards for all parties. They serve alcohol at all times while they are open where my husband and our friend bought a glass of beer to drink during one of the classes for those rough mornings! The sportsdome is a nice alternative for sports from being outside offering a big field, practice field (both turf), basketball courts which can also serve as volleyball courts or even for use for soccer sprouts a time or 2. Sometimes the facility can be very busy as there can be different sports simultaneously happening at the same time in all areas, so parking may be limited, but the parking lot is large you should not have much trouble finding parking. Ladies Bathrooms are also clean. They offer ladies and men as well as family bathrooms located across from the basketball courts. I always see them being clean. All in all, the facility is pretty tidy and offer many trash cans so you can throw away your trash without having to walk far away.
