I did enjoy my short visit, however, I am an aviation history junkie. But for the average person, I think they will be greatly disappointed. It used to be an incredible place with an immersive experience and a huge display of functional airplanes. Now it is just one small hanger with a small sampling of planes bunched together. If you love airplanes and military aviation history this is worthy of an hour or two as the old guys there have some great stories that they tell during the guided tour. If, however, you are not a history nut, I think you would not enjoy it.

Our cabins were nice as far as the communal family room and kitchen but nothing fancy and the actual private bed/bathrooms were equivalent to maybe a 3 star hotel. Very rustic and older. There were silverfish and other insects in the bathrooms, and the beds were very uncomfortable. I stayed here as part of a family weekend and it served its purpose but personally I would not choose to stay here again. If you are looking for a place to merely sleep at night with no frills then this might be ok, but if you are looking for something equivalent to a Holiday Inn or better then this place will not meet your expectations.

I found the landmarks, wildlife, and local history to be fascinating, and this was also a wonderful way to beat the summer heat. It was just myself and another party of three on the tour. A relaxing time was had and I was so taken with the scenery and landscapes as they are so different from where I live. I highly recommend this tour for visitors and locals alike and would definitely take another tour of theirs if given the chance.

I'm so glad I finally did the Living Water Boat Cruises pontoon tour--it gave me an entirely different perspective on the area. One of the highlights for me was cruising past the former Cypress Gardens property, now part of LEGOLAND. I remember visiting Cypress Gardens as a child, so it was fascinating and nostalgic to see the property from the water, including the historic Florida-shaped swimming pool that is being restored and the beautiful old Florida vegetation. Our captain and guide, Sage, was excellent. She is also a Florida native and was extremely knowledgeable about the local history, the lakes, and the wildlife. During the tour we saw ospreys, otters, an alligator, and many different birds. We even got to watch floatplanes landing and taking off on the lakes, which was an unexpected treat. We toured the southern portion of the Chain of Lakes early in the morning, which was perfect because it was an extremely hot Florida day with temperatures expected in the 90s. The timing made the trip very comfortable and enjoyable. I especially appreciated that I happened to be the only guest on my tour and they still accommodated me rather than canceling. It ended up feeling like a wonderful private tour. This was such an enjoyable way to experience a part of Florida that I had never really seen before, despite growing up here. I would highly recommend it to visitors as well as longtime Floridians who want to see Winter Haven and the Chain of Lakes from a completely different perspective

My wife and I booked the Royal Crest Room for a few reasons - they were extremely responsive and…read moreconvenient to where we live in St. Cloud, you cannot beat the inclusive pricing, the facilities and decor are amazing, and we already knew we loved the food and bar service from visiting the restaurant while golfing. We decided on a Bridgerton themed wedding and the Magnolia Garden and cocktail hour space were the perfect vibe. The venue allowed us to have a horse and carriage on the tee box right next to the cocktail hour space, and the reception room with the included draping and chandeliers were perfect. Also, probably most importantly, the team made us feel wanted and loved. As a LGBT couple, we were worried that it would be difficult to find a venue and vendor team that made us feel just as comfortable as any other couple, but they exceeded our expectations. They made accommodations for us to use both locker rooms as bridal suites, ensured we were always comfortable with all of the decisions, and even let us do a re-tasting to ensure we were 100% satisfied with our dinner menu. Our guests absolutely RAVED about the bar service and service of the venue staff. Everything was perfect - so much so that MANY of our guests have asked us to throw anniversary parties here every year. The Royal Crest Room team was also incredibly responsive and flexible when communicating any questions or concerns, worked with us when we had a payment due but we were traveling internationally, and immediately corrected an issue with our sand ceremony equipment. We could not have asked for a better team for our special day and their preferred vendors list will help with any other special touches you want to add! We used many from that list and it was such a vibe when all our vendors knew each other or had worked together before, making the day flow smoothly. Highly recommend!!!

Tonight, I attended a football banquet at the Royal Crest Room and it was everything that I remembered it being. The reception room had beautiful white drapery and a hanging chandelier, the tables were spaced nicely around the room all with formal dining wear and chargers. The servers were very quiet and respectful during the event, and wore all black head to toe, including gloves while serving food. They moved around in a very smooth pattern and flow of the room. They were professionals. My only complaint is the bathrooms are single stalls.
