She's very thorough, but she is NO LONGER PRACTICING. Can't they just reflect this so that people don't have false hope?

At first I was skeptical of this group due to a lack of explanation of a scary procedure before…read moregoing into it, but after I expressed my concerns my panicked questions were met with kindness and I received a comprehensive explanations from all angles. Dr Boors made charts and had no issue sitting with me and trying to talk my anxiety away with facts despite him being very busy. Danielle made sure I had the necessary records read. Dr Wilkinson's nurse Jennifer was an absolute angel. After talking to her I went into the procedure comfortably and with confidence. Dr Lana Wilkerson came in after Jennifer was done calming my anxiety and preformed the breast biopsy with absolutely no pain and continued with more explanations. Jacqueline couldn't hurt the biggest baby with her mammogram skills. I am that great big baby I speak of with an extreme fear of doctors so for me to say what I'm saying means this group goes above and beyond their required jobs. I'm very pleased and feel lucky to have this group involved in my healthcare. Thank you!!!

My experience at Maui Medical in Wailuku was very stressful and disappointing…read more I arrived for my scheduled appointment already feeling sick. All I wanted to do was check in, see my doctor, and get on with my day. Instead, I was told I had to speak with the billing department first about a previous bill and was told the bill would be sent to collections. When you make a medical appointment, you expect to check in and receive care, not be put under pressure to make a financial decision before you can move forward. I also have work responsibilities, and I do not have extra time to deal with unexpected billing issues when I arrive for a scheduled appointment. This experience made me feel as though I was being put in a trap. When you are already sick, being confronted with billing pressure can create anxiety, frustration, and even fear about going back to the doctor. It makes an already difficult situation even harder. I understand that bills need to be addressed, but patients deserve respectful communication, compassion, and a clear explanation of their options. Billing concerns should be handled professionally without making patients feel intimidated or discouraged from seeking medical care. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves how billing issues are handled. Patients should be able to arrive for an appointment and focus on their health without worrying about an upsetting confrontation before they even see their doctor.
