This is a little station for the little town of... I can't pronounce it... which is a coastal town on the peninsula north of Aberystwyth on the Welsh Coast. It hasn't been used very much lately, and has a nice little Station House and looks quite new and different to a lot of the other stations in Wales. The little station house looks kind of like somebody's house, like a residence. It's a nice part of the country and pretty remote, but it does need a station and it's great that it has one. It has been around for a long time and is larger than you would expect, at least in some portions of the station such as the house itself. Now I have to leave, my pwll heli... copter's here.

If you're trying to get to remote parts of Wales from here, you might have to go back to England to catch another train. The station is small and simple so you won't miss your train unless your late. There's also a couple of pubs and restaurants to grab some food before your trip.

You have the option of…read morethe steam train to Devil's Bridge or one of eight trains per day to Birmingham via Machynlleth Its handily placed central to the town and only a few minutes walk from the front. It was obviously once a more important station! There is a useful Wetherspoons for a pre or post train drink.

Not to be confused with the Fale of Rehidol railway, where the locomotive is constantly broken…read more This is a beautiful old classic private Railway, and one of the Heritage Railways located on the Hills near Aberystwyth. It's absolutely beautiful up here and was originally part of the actual Railway in the area - but now it's mainly for tourists and a romantic part of the area. It won a lot of awards, esspecially in the mid tens.

If you're bored of coming fourth and missing out on the medals, then you're Borth…read more This is a tiny old station on the coast of Wales, with a station house that looks a little bit like a pub or some old stately home or something. It's pretty remarkable and I'm definitely a fan. It's a listed building and should be because it's absolutely beautiful. The chimneys are an especially nice touch, but when you look out from the station all you see is fields and nothing for miles, so it's pretty romantic and one of my favourite little stops in Wales - especially with all the mountains in the background.

If the tracks go over the water, is it a Rail-Ford?…read more This is an amazing private railway that climbs through the beautiful part of the mid Wales coast on the mountainous hills, and has existed since 1865, although it originally was just carrying materials to the quarry from the quarries. It was actually the first narrow gauge railway in the UK, and the first one to carry passengers. Now it's a tourist attraction and is absolutely beautiful. It hasn't been maintained very well, but that just makes it seem like something really old school, and one station in particular along this route is so gorgeous that I at least need to give the whole railway five stars.

The Ffestinog Railway is a great place. Either as a day out, for the family or couples, or as a…read moreplace to work. The railway has a core staff that keep it ticking over, but the majority of the work is done by volunteers, a very socialable group of people. The railway runs most of the years, and has some amazing views.
