As with any outlet shopping, it's very hit or miss. We stopped on our way from Florence to our next hotel in Tuscany since it was on the way. In the future I'm not sure I would go out of my way to make the visit but definitely worth it if you are passing through anyways. The Gucci and Prada store are huge and seemed to have the best deals but also the longest lines. I would also plant to eat before, after or bring your own food. There is a restaurant on site that is fine in a pinch but not great.

There are travel groups/companies that take big groups here by coach bus from all over the region. This outside outlet mall is huge and worth the visit, if your interested in designer/name brand goods. We visited Gucci, Prada, Ferragamo, Bottega, Celine, and Valentino. I didn't get a chance to go into Fendi, Coach, or Saint Laurent. I was satusfied with my purchases. Some of the stores have a cap in the amount of guests they let in at a time, so you have to wait in line outside before getting in. When we visited, most of the stores were open and available, some were busier than others. There are some savings to be had in some of the stores. If you are living in the US, but be sure to calculate what the US currency price of the item is, to ensure your really saving money. You can even try and find out what the US price of the item would be online first to compare the price at The Mall. Each store has a relationship with a specific tax free company, Planet, Global Blue etc. Depending on what company they use, could determine how much $ you actually get back. Some have higher fees, so you don't end up saving much money. The Mall grounds are well manicured and sprawling. You could spend the whole day there. Or go to your specific store of choice and get in and get out. There's a cafes & coffee shop for sustenance during your shopping day. The best thing about the place, is they have a tax free lounge in the far back of the Mall. Where you can go and apply for your VAT, and receive your cash refund, depending on your final destination country. You can also ask questions there. The staff are pretty strict in there. You pull a number and wait to be called, and it's slow, and ladies like it quiet, so they ask for minimal talking while waiting. But its got AC and chairs to rest your weary feet. So give yourself time to get there wait in line, if you need to. My friend was leaving the next day, and was able to get her VAT. Worth the visit if in the area.

He…read morerepresents the 9th generation of his family's tradition, taking over the business when his father passed in 1976. His macelleria (butcher shop) "Antica Macelleria Cecchini" is located in Panzano, located somewhere along the Tuscan countryside in the Chianti region. An otherwise sleepy town, foodies, winos and foodie/wino tourists flock to the macelleria to sample their meats over a glass of Chianti. He's developed into quite the famous butcher with appearances with TV chef personalities (Bourdain, Batali) and celebrities paying top dollar for his cuts. His holistic approach to his butchery stems from his former vet school training. He emphasizes treating the animal with utmost respect throughout its life and to incorporate all parts of the animal in its preparations. This restaurant reiterates his philosophy with the standard €30 six-course meal specifically excluding any traditional steak preparations and specifically including such dishes as boiled beef's knees prepared with seasonal vegetables. Quite an improvement for a cut typically meant to be given to dogs. I was introduced to this as part of the "Super Chianti" itinerary through Grape Tours - it was advertised as one of the stops. We were first served up salumi, crostini and cups of Chianti at the main butcher shop, then our group was led across the street to the restaurant. One of the crostini toppers was lard, fat that can't be found in the US. Tables are set up convivially and meals are served family-style. The menu is peppered with references to Dante's "Divine Comedy", which Cecchini has been known to recite by heart while going about his work. We were served a modification of the standard "Menu del Macellaio". While it included the sides and dessert, we were instead served four different dishes alongside the "bistecca fiorentina", not included in the standard menu but advertised in the tour itinerary as a highlight. As a solo traveler, due to bistecca being served by gram minimums in other restaurants this would realistically be my only opportunity to try the Florentine speciality. MEATS 1. Spicy meat ragu on toast 2. Beef roast 3. Boiled beef and vegetable salad 4. Braised meats (5. Bistecca fiorentina) Emphasizing the philosophy the meat dishes are identified with a number, which is associated with a certain part of the cow. Yes, that boiled beef with vegetable dish is made using the knees. The surprising thing is that the bistecca ended up being the *least* favorite of the meat dishes. It is intentionally served plain and you season it to taste with their special salt. Being served rare didn't bother me as I knew this was the traditional preparation of the dish. The other dishes were excellent. I loved the roast, broiled and braised meat dishes equally. Even better was that I didn't feel bloated after eating the meat. It helped that my palate cleanser was not a carb but vegetables dipped in evoo/salt mixture. SIDES - Vegetables to dip in extra virgin olive oil - Our special salt - Garbanzo and white beans - Coffee, e.v. olive oil cake - Grappa and Italian Military spirits The vegetables are presented in a small bowl and are meant to be dipped in a mixture of evoo and salt. Vegetables were very fresh and served as a good palate cleanser. Beans were al dente. The salt was so good that I ended up purchasing this salt to take back home. It tastes quite different from your typical seasoned salt you can find at the grocery store. Much more fine. Coffee and olive oil cake were delicious. Refreshing dessert and went well with the coffee. The grappa is a bit strong and is an acquired taste. Think of a bitter brandy made as a digestive. With so many highlights of my 2-week Italy trip, this ended up being my personal foodie favorite moment of the trip. Being a solo traveler I am appreciative of any opportunity to eat convivially over good food. Although I didn't get to meet Dario on this trip, I am very grateful to have eaten at his restaurant as foodies would love to have a similar opportunity. Many thanks to Grape Tours for this incredible opportunity - this will go down as one of the best meals I've ever partaken.

We adjourned to the dining area after 20 mins for the actual meal. Full marks for the service, quality, quantity and range of meat available. Love the communal eating concept as well; a great way to make friends from everywhere! The 30 Euro option was more than enough food but go for the 50 Euro option if you want some florentine steak! What a great meal and experience!

I have been going here for a few years when I really need to get items and don't want to do so among a million other shoppers. I very much recommend to come here during the week, the weekend is nuts and you will have so much more space when trying on things and getting the items you want. Some of the stores inside include. Hollister (new), Coin (fancy department store), Kiko (makeup), Sephora (makeup), A HUGE H&M and unlike the one in the center of Florence, everything has managed to stay on the racks, not the floor, C&M, Universo Sport (fitness stuff & clothes), Foot Locker, Oviesse (clothes), Timberland (clothes & shoes), Guess, Coin casa (nice stuff for your house), Mediaworld (electronics), A toy store for kids, Apple store, many coffee bars, and the upstairs area has restaurants. We really like the brasilian place & brac. They also have sushi, tex-mex, chinese, light lunch, Mcdonalds. etc. Panorama (huge supermarket) They also now have an outside shopping area as well with a huge Shoe store, and a few other retail places. They have a ton of stores that I haven't even mentioned so if you want a a calm stress free shopping location - here you go! Don't forget to try the coffee bar close to Oviesse, they make really awesome coffee's with cinnamon and whipped cream.
