There are two playgrounds either side of the lake, walking and bike tracks, a gorgeous pergola/gazebo complete with white turret roof. Situated right on the lake, this magnificent area is perfect for wedding photos and is quite often used as a place to get married or to have wedding pics taken. When the giant water feature display comes on in the background the beauty of the scene it creates, particularly from the pergola with ferns and lush greenery in the background, truly takes your breath away. The Queen's Lake Cafe is situated on the opposite side of the gazebo next to one of the two playgrounds. They serve up delicious, homely and oh-so-worth-not-packing-a-picnic sort of food. Fresh rolls, focaccia and hot food, as well as perfecto tea and coffee, this is one playground you won't mind taking the kids to! Even though it gets busy here and not as big as Coburg Lake it's always seemed to be more serene and peaceful each time I've been. Seating a plenty, picnic tables, swimming complex, cafe, playgrounds, free BBQ facilities, walking and biking tracks, peace, wildlife, romantic.... The list goes on and on. The best thing to do is come and experience it for yourself, particularly if you live on this side of Melbs.

Queens Park is a beautiful park and is more of a "botanical gardens" than a regular or wooded park. It contains a beautiful lake with 3 man-made islands and a large water fountain in the lake. Many different species of bird live on the islands including ducks, coots, black swans and others. Turtles can also be spotted. The walk around the lake can be done in 10 minutes but its nicer to amble slowly! There are 2 playgrounds in the park - on either side of the lake and have different equipment to each other - meaning that the kids get 2 playground experiences rather than one generic one. Parking is also remarkably easy around the perimeter of the park and it is quite normal to see joggers running through the park or newly weds having their wedding photos taken in the lush setting. The park borders a swimming pool (open in summer) and the Moonee Ponds bowling club and contains a small cafe near the western side playground. The park is perfect for a romantic walk around the lake at twilight with your lover (it is well lit with lamp posts and is not dangerous at night) yet is also a perfect place for taking the kids to burn off some of their excess energy in the daytime and is also a great place for a jog or exercise session!

Mannagment are helpful. Annita does her best in the office. I don't understand how calm she is with everyone's crap. Parks kept nice and clean. It's a windy area so there's leaves here n there's. Must be a big job them leaves. There is always a hater in life witch no one avoid. But if people are not happy why stay there. Why create drams for everyone else. Its not your business so why slander it. Sorry but management need to remove some of these people. There looking for reasons to start a problems. I have been staying at this park on and off last for the last 9 years. I have seen the park manny times. How clean the parks maintained. I have had the privilege of meeting the last 3 managers. The managers now do a cracking job n need some credit there. My whole time of being there no management has eva asked me for nothing. Loves doing his job and keeps to him self. I just couldn't get my head around the cars racing up n down the highway n the planes flying over. Good park well done.

I came up here with a heap of friends from a country retreat over the weekend, and they had decided…read moreto choose this place as the place where we would stay. The main reason I came up here was because I of the fact that it was a campsite that I had never been to before (though my experience of Victorian campsites/conference centres is incredibly limited). Also it was up in Kyneton which would give me an excuse to go and check the town out. I have to say that it wasn't all that bad, and they had a pretty decent amount of activities for those who weren't all that interested in exploring the local area. The lake was somewhat dry, however they do have a swimming pool, and heaps of other activities, including a large sports stadium. If you are using the cabins then they don't actually have any bedding (other than fitted sheets) which means that you have to bring your own. However there is a large area for those who prefer to rough it. Not a bad campsite, though definitely not the cheapest.

It was horrible. the first thing is that the food was…read moregross, the carrots and bread were rotten, and there was a white thing in my moose which I accidentally swallowed and got a stomach ache 15 mins later. the second thing is the water. it was disgusting. in the toilets there is a sign of how they get their water and it comes from the river. if you ever decide to go there BRING YOUR OWN WATER. the third thing is the cabins. for the first five minutes i see a rat under the bunk beds, and so did many other students. the forth thing is the flying fox. we didn't get to go on it BECAUSE a girl was underweight for it and fell and broke her back but the thing is the girl said it so calmly that it actually scared me. I have to say the activities weren't that bad. The giant swing was really fun and so was the leap of faith, but the rest of the camp was horrible. it just felt really unsafe there, especially at night. it might not be that bad if you go for a day trip, but to stay there overnight, I strongly don't recommend. I hated it and hope to never be back there.
