In fact as a station it was actually pretty nice. Mind you, it is a bit of a hike to the town centre, and the bus doesn't always line up with the train, which is quite annoying. Also, it doesn't seem to be staffed either, but still, it was a pretty decent station.

The great thing about this station is that it is pretty close to the town, which is certainly…read moresaying something because a lot of the stations seem to have ended up being on the end, resulting in a bit of a walk to actually get there. Not so here. The other great thing about this station is that not only is it staffed, but it also has good facilities, and it is also located inside a rather nice building, which is quite delightful actually.

A part of me expected that this station was just going to be one of those boring country stations,…read morenamely because Diggers Rest really isn't all that big. However, upon jumping off the train I noticed that it does happen to have one of those nice, older buildings that you tend to find on a number of the railway stations. In fact, that made this place pretty cool. Oh, they have also completely refurbished the place as well when they electrified the line.

Actually, the station wasn't too bad, namely because the old building is still there, and I don't think they are going to get rid of it, which is pretty cool. It does have a nice atmosphere, though a lot of the trains don't stop here, but that is probably because it is a small town.

It is quite close to the shops, which is also a pretty good thing, and the trains are also reasonably frequent, and some of them are express as well, which I certainly do appreciate. Sure, it might not be one of my favourite suburbs in Melbourne, but the station does have some charm, and there is also a bus interchange as well, which also helps.

I guess being located next to a major shopping centre does help, and help quite a lot, but still, I do quite appreciate the fact that this station is just a little more than a shelter and a platform. I guess also being a termination station for some trains helps as well.
