Mace Ford. Within the last three years we have purchased two vehicles from Mace. One vehicle was previously owned and (this week) one that was new. In both cases we were treated fairly, equitably and with the utmost respect. Pat Mace and the sales and service people at Mace went out of their way to ensure our requests were satisfied in a most fair and reasonable way - even beyond our desired expectations. I would suggest Mace to all my friends, family and neighbors. You don't have to go to Indianapolis, Bloomington or Evansville to get a great deal. **BEWARE OF THIS DEALERSHIP** If I could give a negative rating, I would. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. We drove an hour and half to purchase a Ford Expedition. We noticed a small chip/crack in the windshield and some small reddish orange spots on the tailgate that wouldn't rub off. We asked the salesman about them and he said they would fix both of them. We went inside to talk with someone else and finish the sale. As we were waiting, our salesman John went to talk with Brad, the sales manager. I hear Brad say "If they don't want it, then F@$&'em" (not allowed to type out curse word) I immediately stood up, walked over to office (door was open) and said "um, excuse me - did you just say F@$& me for asking you to fix the windshield on a $53K vehicle I'm about to buy?" Brad shrugged his shoulders and responded "I'm just saying" As I gave him a piece of my mind, he walked outside to look at the windshield and preceded to apologize saying he had thought they already fixed the crack. Needless to say, got my deposit back and kept my money and walked away from that sale. Brad is very arrogant and I would never give him or this place a penny of my money. Unbelievable!!! read more

I had a negative experience at Mace Ford. After my new vehicle being there for over a week, I had not heard any update from the service dept. After several calls to the dealership and none of my complaints being taken seriously, I was finally given a bill for $0.00 and I picked up my vehicle without any of my concerns taken into consideration. I will now be taking my vehicle to a dealership that takes pride in customer satisfaction and concern and that is not Mace Ford. read more

We purchased 2 vehicles from here less than 30 days ago. One brand new and the other used. The used we could tell something was wrong with the front end, and we asked them to check it before we signed anything. They said they aligned it and that it was good. We test drove it again and let them know it was infact not. They told us to come back if it got worse. We'll, it got worse. My husband told them exactly what the issue was, and it still took them 4 hours to figure it out. Both front wheel hubs need replaced! And they thought it just needed aligned? That's a pretty big issue! We will NEVER buy from this place again! They offered to cover half. But it should have been dealt with before it was put on the lot for sale. Bad business owner and service center! Especially considering they knew it was for a 16 year old as they took a picture of him standing with it. We only took it in good faith under the impression they would fix it if it got worse within the 30 days. Clearly, they can't stand by their word. Even the sales rep backed us up. She was amazing. None of this review is towards her. Just the service department and owner for allowing this vehicle to be placed on the lot for sale with this massive issue! Good thing my husband knows vehicles enough to know exactly what was wrong within 1 minute of driving it, and it took your service crew 4 hours. Again, they checked it, said it was good and told us to come back if it got worse, so we did. They told us it would be fixed as it was an issue prior to purchase! read more

My grandparents took their 2003 crown Victoria in 9 times, had to tell them what to do. They spent $1,006.00 in repairs that had nothing to do with the issue. The repairs took 45 minutes. The actual proper repair was 150 bucks and my grandparents have tried to meet with the owner multiple times and see if they can't get some refund and they won't take their call. They are 87 years old and were taken advantage of. Shame on this place for doing that. This took place over the course of almost 5 months. They tried meeting with Mr. Mace but he refused. My grandfather even knew Mr. Maces father and had done business with him for many years but the son doesn't have the courtesy to meet with his customers. They came in because their blower motor would speed up and slow down and stop and make all kinds of random noise. They tried to tell the service department that it was some type of control box but instead they replaced the blower motor which was fine, they charged for this and other repairs that didn't fix the issue. They marked the mileage on their car and asked the service technician to test drive it and when they picked up the car it hadn't even been driven. At one point the service department even told them to just trade in their vehicle and get a new one. They are almost 88 years old, they don't want or need a new one their 2003 was running fine they just wanted the blower control fixed.. To top it off my grandpa owned a service station on 13th and Ohio for over 40 years, Edward's service center. He's used to working on cars and dealing with customers. My grandparents feel taken advantage of, ignored and dismissed. He used to meet with his customers. A real tragedy because they are good people. They still have been denied the chance to speak with Mr. Mace in person and no action or attempt has been made to credit them this massive oversight and overcharged. My father (their son) spoke with a service manager in another state who diagnosed the problem and said it was a $150 repair and maybe 45 minutes of work. Grandparents brought this information to the service department and they did this and it fixed the problem. Had they listened to my grandparents at any time during the 5 months, 9 visits and over $1,000 they wouldn't have felt so taken advantage of. I live 400 miles away, I felt it was important for the community to know how they do business. Here is a picture I took of my grandparents today when I visited them and had breakfast (to show they are real people and put a face to their treatment). I post their picture so folks can get an image of the kind elderly people who are visiting this repair shop. Do they look too intimidating to speak to? They are reasonable people. Is it too much to ask for two people with failing health, very little money and resources to meet to talk about their issue? Is it fair to dismiss the elderly? These are two sharp people but they are in poor health. Would you want your grandparents treated like this? Don't send your grandparents to this dealer, don't go to this dealer unless you are okay with this sort of treatment of the elderly. They don't have smart phones, good health or a lot of money to fight but that doesn't mean they won't tell people about it and people won't share their experience. In other reviews online Mr. Mace makes a reply on here and he says give me a call. When my grandparents call him he says he has no idea who they are and won't talk to them. If the business updates their treatment of my grandparents I will update the post to reflect them making it right but just imagine this happening to anyone you love? This is a lot of money for them, they can't afford a new car. They wanted the repair and they ended up paying for repairs that had nothing to do with the issue. Recently purchased a newer truck from them with higher miles out of warranty period ( Salesman Name was Dustin ). I live 400 plus miles away so it was hard for me to see the vehicle in person or drive it. I asked the salesperson a lot of questions and he insisted that the truck was in great shape minus the dent in the rear bumper. I had the vehicle shipped and listened what the salesman said which is truck is great shape runs good , no dings , no cracks in windshield and it was inspected. Vehicle arrived with mark in the windshield , I counted 9 dings around the vehicle that were very noticeable and come to find out the truck needs some suspension work done on it. read more

I'm writing this review for my elderly (late 80s) parents because they don't have internet access. They took their Crown Victoria to Mace Ford in September of 2020 because the heater motor was going off and on and changing speeds intermittently. Mace Ford replaced the blend door actuator, and my parents paid a little over $1,000 for the repair. Nothing changed. After nine separate trips to the dealer and five replaced parts they finally fixed the problem in January of 2021. The actual problem was the motor control, which cost under $200 to replace. Mace refused to refund any of the difference between the $1,000 they paid and the $200 it should have cost. To make matters worse, the manager and owner won't even return their calls. If you go to Mace Ford don't say you haven't been warned. read more

I would give zero stars but I guess that's not an option. I had my car seen for a wiper issue. One wiper worked, the other did not. Clearly an issue with the wiper linkage. Was told it would be $200 for the part and $200 for labor....qui?!?! I'm not a dumb blonde, no thank you. They still had the gall to charge me $50 labor for the ten minutes they looked at my car. We ran into an issue with our F-150 on-route from Toronto, Canada to Arizona. It was a Friday morning, the service department was booked solid and yet when we explained our situation they simply said " no problem, we just have to help". If I could give them negative stars I would, they are the worst dealer ever, had to have my truck towed there after a transmission failed, this happened before memorial day and was told they would look at it after the holiday, they didn't look at and diagnose the problem for 3 weeks then it took another week for repairs, they told me over phone the cost for new transmission would be $4400 when I went to pick it up the price suddenly jumped to $5140.00 and they didn't even have the invoice ready when I got there and I told them it would take me 7 hours to drive there. It is absolutely ridiculous that a repair would take this long and price should not have been raised 700 after I was quoted and was forced to pay or I would not get my vehicle. Poor customer service and I would never recommend this dealer for work or purchase of vehicles. read more

What ever u do Don't go there they had my truck a lil over 4 months it cost me $1700 & it still doesn't run rite when I went to pick it up the kid said it wasn't ready & I never called him back to give him my permission to order the other parts they needed front axles doesn't have anything to do with it running that's why they said they need it that it needed done I'm not paying $750 for you guys to put front axles on on top of the 1700 so I went back the next day to pick up my truck and pay my bill get my bill it's $200 more than what it's supposed to be and the truck does not stay running but when I the day before when I went to pick it up the kids said it won't run long whatever the mat that meant now we know what I meant because it was still not running not right it keeps dying $1,700 for it to keep dying don't take anything there people they suck and are very very rude and Mr Brad mace he said he called me back that's been 3 weeks ago still haven't heard nothing from him I've called him back twice no reply back so he sucks just as much as the service department does I wouldn't take s*** there the app is making me give a star rating before they will let me post my review I don't want to give a star rating but I'm going to give one just because I have to read more

This place is joke I was working with Justin on just selling my vehicle to-them after it had been in accident I was told one price by Justin and had been told this price all week long that they would pay me by Justin I even txt Justin the night before to make sure deal was still on the table then at last minute after I made deal with my insurance company to accept payment etc and sell vehicle to mace these people change the offer so I was stuck paying money outta pocket shame on you Mr Mace and you to Justin liars and don't bother about complaining you will get a phone call from Mr Mace screaming at you these people are all related so it does no good to grip in the mean time I get a crying txt from Justin that he had not made any money from this deal not sure why he would need to make any money he had did nothing I had test drove no vehicles etc so buyer beware I will continue to tell everyone I know and work with to avoid this place and these lying shameful scoundrels also still waiting on that head butt buddy .. read more
