I did what I could to manage it myself and we are at the point where he requires prescription pain meds. I made it very clear, repetitively so, that I was unable to pay 150$/ month for the recommended injection medication. i paid my total bill for the alternative pain med, believing the price was for a month. The following day, after I saw an improvement in my poor baby (no more chronic crying and an ease in mobility), I took a closer look and saw that the bottle of medication was 120$ and was a 10 day supply, making it 480$ a month. How awful of a person / a medical professional, to take advantage this way. Clearly and as I explained to the vet, I would not be able to afford 150$ a month..how would he expect me to afford 480$ a month. Of course being the owner, I see the improvement and feel horrible not being able to provide this... just disgusting person, uncaring, judgemental and apathetic. when I called to ask about this, the secretary was very kind, she informed me there was the same medication in a significantly cheaper pill form... why was this not offered in the first place knowing I couldn't afford the higher priced one. Money grab. secretaries have all been very nice. just watch the charges.

I had been looking around since I had gotten my kitten wanting the best, and I found it. As soon as I walked in (there's two doors by the way, one for cats, and one for dogs, to keep them separate as much as possible, it's great), the receptionists were all happy, great at what they do, and really friendly. My appointment was at 7:30 and I got there a few minutes before. I was brought to the cat section by one of the receptionists (it's fantastic) where there was the boutique with all the cat stuff. I only waited a few minutes for the vet tech and she was lovely! She was so incredibly informative and as it was willow's first vet visit, it was my first one too. Everything went fantastic, the vet is fantastic and kept my kitten calm during his shot. I had every single question I had answered with a smile, which felt great considering this is my first cat. 100% recommend, I don't have a single bad thing to say. It's average priced as I had called around, and it's fantastic. Update: went for willow's yearly shots, and brought my new kitten too. Once again, 10/10 service

I have a lot of cats. All are rescued strays who have had a rough go of it before coming to live…read morewith us and many of them have medical issues due to their life "on the streets". As a west island resident, I have tried many veterinary clinics in the area including the Pierrefonds Animal Hospital, Anima Plus in Ile Perrot and the DMV in Lachine. Each has their own areas of strength (and some have LOTS of weaknesses), but I have found that Dr. Nina Gauthier at the Timberlea clinic is the most consistent, reliable and compassionate vet that I have dealt with in a long time. I have brought cats to her with issues ranging from a simple flea infestation to thyroid disease, calcivirus and cancer. In every instance she took the time to properly diagnose the animal, research & propose treatment options and come up with an effective solution that takes our multi-cat household into consideration. When our fur-babies get sick, it is always stressful, since they can't tell us what's wrong - and we can't explain that we're trying to help them, but Dr. Gauthier takes the time to answer my questions and is always patient and kind with the animals - even when they pee on her out of fear of a 1st-time vet visit! The team of technicians, support staff, assistants and groomers are also caring and friendly and give me the confidence to leave my animals in their care. I feel like they will treat my cats as they would their own. The Timberlea clinic is equipped to do most diagnostic tests (except CT scans) as well as general surgeries and even dental extractions. The one drawback is that if an animal requires hospitalization, there is no technician on staff overnight to check in and take action if complications arise. For this reason, I take my cats to the DMV in Laval (NOT Lachine) when I know they will require an overnight stay. There is also an extensive boutique with lots of unique pet products as well as a good selection of food & treats. Prices both in the boutique and for vet services are about average for what you would pay at any local vet, and much less expensive than the DMV emergency clinic. I am a BIG fan of this clinic and all it has to offer and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for superior care for their animals.

This place is far from the friendly and caring place it used to be five years ago! It seems that…read moretheir heart got lost somewhere along the way. Back in 2019, we had all our six feral cats spayed and neutered at the same time. We thought that we had found THE animal hospital that was friendly and caring. When one of our cats swallowed a thread, they were there for us, being kind enough to do only what was necessary in order to respect our budget. Then things changed. One of our male cats developed a urinary blockage and we took him to Hudson's for emergency care. They kept him from Saturday evening until Tuesday, this being a long weekend. When we were given an estimate in the 2K and were asked for a deposit of $700. During our cat's stay, twice a day, we were given updates on his progress. Tuesday morning, Dr. Cockburn phoned to tell us that our cat was doing better but that he was not out of the woods yet. I asked if she thought it better that we left him for another day or two. The answer was that it would cost $380. Then she told me the bill was for 3K. When I told her that we were told it would be in the 2K, she got mad, telling me that the first bill was only an estimate. When I insisted, telling her that it was already hard to come up with the first amount, she got mad and told me to come and pick up my cat. Seeing that I would have a hard time paying, she offered to have me pay the initial bill and pay the rest by October, the ''rest'' being a few hundred dollars, I thanked her, but preferred to borrow from a friend. When we got there, we were ushered into an examining room and a Technician came to tell us about our cat. She was very nice, answering all our questions. When she left, the receptionist came in with the credit card terminal to demand payment! Usually people pay at the reception, where they afraid that we would not pay? Only after payment, were we taken to the reception area where our cat was waiting in a traveling box, on the ground, facing towards the back of the box. When we got home, I noticed that his mouth was all swollen and half of the skin was rubbed off his nose, he was in a pretty bad shape. Next morning, I phoned Hudson's to ask what was wrong with my cat, at that point, he could not drink nor eat, I even mailed them a picture of the cat's mouth. The receptionist told me that Dr Cockburn would call back, she never did. We had to take our cat to another animal hospital where they diagnosed a really bad case of Calicivirus. That kind of infection does not develop into such a severe state overnight! He had to be treated given subcutaneous fluids at home and care had to be taken not to infect our other cats. In the five years I had my cats, none of them ever suffered from Calicivirus, it seems that our cat caught it at Hudson's, they could at least have told us! Dr. Cockburn never bothered to tell us that our cat had Calicivirus that needed special care. She didn't even bother to call back! Seeing that his mouth was so badly swollen, and he could not eat nor drink, she could have shown us how to rehydrate our cat through subcutaneous fluid administration, she never did. We were let down because we had no more money! I am disgusted with this place! They should be made to reimburse me the vet bills I had to pay to fix their negligence. Animal Care is a big bucks business, especially since CoVid19 and it seems that money has gotten to Hudson Hospital's head. I have found another Animal Hospital in Laval, and will go there from now on. Prices are more adapted to one's budget and the people working there are empathetic towards your animal's needs and your situation.
