Servers were all very friendly and patient with us as we went through the menu. We ended up doing the assortment option with allows you to get 5-7 tapas and a drink with each order. That would be over a hundred tapas for the tables, so I think we only got about 8-10 assortments for the group and tried to mix them up. We then ordered a few different things off the rest of the menu, like gazpacho. I tried everything that came to my end of the table and some more than once. Each item had its own unique flavor. I enjoyed it all, but this was the first place I ever had octopus and that was probably my favorite part of it all. So good. The pitchers of wine and sangria were the perfect beverage to wash it all down with. Ambiance is lovely outside, no traffic noise and amidst the various cafes and gelato shops. Just going to highlight a few of the tapas we shared. The pulpo a la gallega (octopus) was very tender and had just the right amount of paprika (13,15€). At 6,40€, the bunyols de bacallá looked a bit odd due to the addition of squid ink in the batter. Like croquettes, they have the subtle taste of fish because of codfish eggs. My mother in law refused to eat them because she said they looked like "emu poos." I thought they looked like charcoal briquets (see photo). Higos or grilled figs had the addition of foie Gras which offset the sweetness of the figs 5,10€. Everything went down nicely with a bottle of Rueda Verdejo at 10,70€. A very memorable evening indeed!
