If everything was awesome just give it a 5. Those 4s add up and I feel like people that use Yelp are always looking for the great reviews. You get a 5 and 4 from two people that love something. The physical movements across the stage were awkward at best and lines were delivered with shrieks and screams and often not understandable. The price of the tickets reflected a professional performance. I have attended high school plays that put this performance to shame. It was supposed to be a comedy, but no one was laughing. On the way out, most people just seemed to be in a rush to leave. We certainly were. Find some other entertainment or make a donation to the food pantry or animal shelter. We wish that we had.

Sure enough, upon googling, there it was! I promptly bought tickets. The outside makes it stand out, the inside was kind of open and had a couple posters advertising upcoming shows, then you go through this small door into a small theater - there isn't a bad seat in the house!! Not sure if they were trying to compensate for it being pretty cold outside, but it was very warm in the theater (and I'm ALWAYS cold!) I thought my husband was going to melt! There isn't a private parking lot that I could find, and being that it's on the main drag in Tannersville, you can park on the street or the small lots. We didn't have trouble parking, but if ski season was in full swing - 7 on a Friday night?! I imagine it would be more difficult. I will definitely be checking back for more shows and events.

I recently caught "Imagining Madoff" here, and I was impressed by not only the writing and the acting, but also by the genuine community that supports these productions. I went in with low expectations, and I was pleasantly surprised. But I couldn't help but notice...perhaps it's because we caught the opening night show and only theater patrons were present, but the crowd here at Stageworks is...not young. At 107 years of age, my father was the youngest man in the crowd. My mother was one of several people that fell asleep during the performance, but I suppose that's what happens when you don't have an intermission, and everyone in the audience has been on the same sleep schedule since before electricity. They should've taken advantage of the coffee available pre-show for a $1 donation.* The theater WAS kept at around 55 degrees, probably to try and keep people awake/prevent them from decomposing. Thanks folks, I'll be here all week. _________ *If you're required to pay the $1 for the product, isn't that called a "purchase"?
