Would be better if it wasn't so overcrowded/busy…read more This is a really solid commercial gym, with a lot of amenities for the price, and the staff are great! However, this is one of the most overcrowded gyms I've been too. It's often tough to get your desired workout in, requiring you to adapt or change up your exercises, which is fine, we all have to share. But at this gym, there seems to be a lack of respect between members. Occasionally during busy hours, all of the squat racks are taken - and some members don't even use the racks, they'll warm up on the side for 15 mins while still claiming the rack, or they'll use it for pull-ups when there are literally 5 other areas where pull-ups can be performed, that are available. This gym also allows filming on the floor. It's more of a personal gripe, but I don't like having to be in the background of someone's video. The tri-pods and filming each set is a bit obnoxious and egotistical. I'd wish they didn't permit filming, like most commercial gyms.

I have a strong membership and it honestly just feels like a bit of regret. Not as much to moving…read moreto Warren in general because this might still be one of the better gyms around (I've only also went to Planet (for a few weeks) and I didn't even have a real complaint there before trying Edge. I just had a workout buddy that joined Edge and didn't love the Planet here compared to the one near Clawson). This place just slacks so hard in so many ways. You can see reviews of people having complained about the same shit that hasn't been addressed for months now. It's not the worst gym, but it's wild to me that the standards here are somehow less than the Planet that's up the street. Staff: Friendly and nice overall. I get a shake almost every time I'm in here and I feel like I'm always overhearing people ask questions and them not knowing why this or that hasn't arrived or hasn't been taken care of yet though. The staff seem to know the place is a bit of a shitshow and it's outside their control. Staff seem cool, there just seems to be a lack of them. Sauna: Like the last girl said, they're falling apart. There's supposed to be a TV in there that's never been on. The directions that were printed on the door have melted off to where they're entirely unreadable. Everyone just goes in there wearing shoes and full clothing. I made the mistake of not knowing why: you'll get a terrible rash if you don't. Some guys in the sauna tried to warn me and I started getting super itchy within minutes. I seen someone on Google call it a biohazard over a month ago. Someone replied saying they take it very seriously and would address it. They didn't do so much as print out a paper sign. Honestly baffled someone hasn't made a lawsuit out of this yet. Also the temp is the weakest I've experienced. Might be the other half of the reason everyone is always wearing clothes in here. Tanning beds: I took a whiff and said absolutely not. I get that customers should be wiping these down themselves between uses, but the condition was more like 'does anyone even do a real clean on these every few days?' Massage: One chair and one of those shitty water beds that doesn't really do anything. One of each for what's probably the busiest gym I've ever been to in my life. I again look at Planet as the EBT of gym memberships and I think they have 4 of each. Cinema: It's like no one here ever checks on shit. You could be here all day and every movie is playing with all the controls up and a big pause sign and skip buttons floating in the middle of the screen. The next movie just won't play sometimes as early as 8pm and no one does anything about it. Equipment repairs: Slacking a little, but not the worst I've seen. The cinema seems to suffer from this the most without any warnings being put on equipment that still function without their display/are just really loose and clicky. Shakes: We're 11 days into February and the shake of the month is still the shake from January... That's not the bad part. That bad part is that they literally haven't had the January shake flavor since the first few days into January. Locker room: No soap in the showers? Alright, I guess I can bring soap if I need to wash off real quick. Not too bad in here otherwise. Accessibility: For what I'm paying I can't complain on the hours too much. I guess I get the spin room being closed outside of classes since having all those bikes in top shape for the class kinda makes sense? It's not really something I've experienced at any other gym ever, but okay... But as for the strength room being closed only for classes?... Why? Why when we're paying a premium membership price already? I was totally under the impression that room was going to come with my upgrade. Why can't we just scan ourselves in if we're paying for the classes? There's no other rowing machines anywhere else in the gym. Why do I sometimes see one or two people in there somehow when I can't get in? Why can't people that already have personal training use that fenced in area when it's not in use? Minor complaint. Doubt it's one anything is changing on. Classes: They're matching planet during M-Th but then the weekends are extremely weak. I miss LifeTime so much when I think about the class scheduling at both of these places. They're not the worst for having classes, but they can do better. No, I don't want to speak to a manager or reach out to another email address or have someone tell me some bullshit about anything getting addressed online. (The owner telling you to email a membership experience team? lol, what?! How about accountability?) I've got another 9-10 months here and I just want someone to get off their ass or make some phone calls or whatever needs to be done to turn some of this shit around. This place gets an insane amount of business and I'm not at all alone at failing to understand why so many standards are a complete oversight.

The first few sessions consisted of me breathing like I was in Lamaze class and wondering what kind of heart attack I was going to have. Brendan; my trainer never stopped encouraging me and assured me that I could do these things if I just stayed the course. The mind/body connection was constantly talked about and the positive energy in this place will motivate you even on a bad day. There are some tough looking dudes there but they smile and welcome you like you are family. Fast forward two months. I'm down almost 30 pounds, I'm sleeping better, and my mind is radiating energy and positivity. They teach you to push your limits and overcome things here. My endurance has increased ten fold and I'm doing workouts with my high school football intensity and seeing results in the mirror mentally and physically. If you want to hang out at a juice bar and take selfies in between sets while you barely sweat, this place isn't for you. If you want to come in, really work, and leave looking like you just showered in your clothes, and truly see results then this is the place for you.
