I had been using MAC Studio Fix for a few years before I plucked up the courage to actually get my makeup done at their counter at Harvey Nic's. I too was intimidated by how glamorous the girls looked and also felt vulnerable taking my makeup off in public. Becca, who first applied my eye makeup realised how terrified I was and was very reassuring. She also persuaded me to buy the most daring red lipstick I have ever worn. It's Russian Red and it makes me feel sexy every time I go out with it on.
I was finally brave enough to book a makeup application which costs £30.00 and is redeemable against products bought on the day. Finally being seen with no makeup on in a busy Harvey Nic's wasn't scary at all and I loved the looks from women as they walked past and saw me getting done up. I regularly get my makeup done by the girls at MAC and they are all lovely. If I am going out or just run out of foundation, mascara, lippy, blusher, eye shadow or any of the other cosmetics I buy at MAC I will book an application or just get my eye makeup done. Over the past year and a half I have relearned how to apply my makeup and I always learn something new every time I get my face done there. I like my eyes to look dark and smoky when I am going out so I tell the makeup artist just to go as dramatic as possible. To me MAC are famous for that look and I always get compliments on how beautiful my eyes look on a night out.
I know that MAC are more expensive than a lot of brands and I don't only use their products. I really like how I am treated by the staff there and I feel genuinely valued though. I will be getting my bridal makeup done by one of the girls from MAC but I haven't decided who yet. That is going to be a difficult decision ... read more
