Nothing beats a MAC Experience!!! I am a shopper of the Big 3 Makeup Stores - Sephora, Ulta, & MAC. I took my daughter along and asked all three the same question: Can you help me with a color match and finding her natural face makeup? I'll keep this review focused on MAC. I have to say when it comes to professionalism, expertise, and customer service these Beauty Techs deserve Kuddos! We were greeted by Nicole. She was able to quickly pull 5 products that she felt were base for a fresh face: Primer, foundation, translucent, brow & Mascara. She then began applying a light coverage amount of foundation to skin to make sure it was what we were looking for. After mentioning she would be able to do a face session with my daughter, today no necessary appointment (comes courtesy with a $90 or more purchase). We were on board. My daughter absolutely loved her fresh face. We purchased more of the builder products along with a couple of brushes and were on our way. My daughter left feeling comfortable with her look and application techniques. Nicole gave us her card and mentioned if she ever wants to stop by or schedule another session. I want to take a moment and tell you about the most amazing experience I have ever had from a makeup clerk. Let me start by saying. Teresa Markowski at the MAC in The Avenue Mall was very knowledgeable about the product and understanding about my needs. She tested a couple different shades and then showed me how the product can be buildable to my needs. The store was clean, neat, well light. But she made the whole process and experience amazing. From the moment I walked it. She welcomed me, asked questions about my skin care and what makeup I already wear. I would recommend her and this store to anyone. My husband and I had a military holiday party and I went to Dry Bar to get my hair done and Mac Cosmetics to get my make up done. Shantell was my Mac make up artist and she did amazing job! My face was her canvas and she took her time and listened to all my specifications. I showed her images off of Pinterest if others that had their make up professionally done and told her exactly how I wanted my eyebrows shaped, the color of eye shadow and lips. She would stop mid way to get my approval and to assure I was happy, which I was! The make up took about an hour so make sure to eat ahead of time and bring a beverage with you. I swung by the Starbucks that was in the center courtyard and grabbed some water and coffee. For the whole face, it cost $60 and it came with a complimentary mascara! Definitely worth the price! Overall, the experience was amazing and when my husband saw me he couldn't stop staring at me and telling me how beautiful I looked and how amazing my make up looked! read more

I am a big fan of MAC Cosmetics and this is an excellent store! So many of the stores (I'm thinking in O-Town) are SO crowded it can be nearly impossible to get assistance, and then when you do, you may or may not get someone who is very helpful, primarily because they are being pulled in 20 different directions. Well, I'm happy to say that is not the case with this store. The employees here are so helpful and friendly, They really take the time to talk to you and make sure you are happy. I have made more purchases here over the years than I can even begin to count. Just an FYI and cool fact: You'll often find a MAC counter in department stores such as Belk. I do prefer the actual stores because you can purchase the magnetic eyeshadows for your palate; whereas, you cannot in a department store. The cosmetics are what they are, and they are great! I feel reviews for MAC stores comes down to customer service. They do so well here, they get a solid 5 stars from me! read more

Wow these ladies suck - three women working in the store. One is doing makeup on the other while the most antisocial one rings people up on the register. I tell the lady I need to be matched up - she points to the foundations they have?? Are you feeling deaf?! I can see the foundations! I'm standing right in front of them! The store is an oversize closet. There's no way I don't see it. It's hard matching shades to skin tone. That's why I came in - looking for a professional to do it. These ladies gave no f*cks! They kept two stars because the two that were playing with make up at least looked like they had some skills, just no home training! read more

Mac "The Mac" Cosmetics has always been a great store for me. I love their Lip Glass and Lip Sticks. The colors are fantastic. There is an absolute match for any color you desire. The shades do not look different on your lips like with some brands you pick up a pink and all of a sudden, your lips are purple! Not here. Fantastic quality! The eyeshadows are the same. You can buy false eyelashes here and guess what...the makeup artist will apply them for you. TaDa! Run in and let them do the hard part...15 minutes later and you are Party ready! I do this alot. The price of the lashes is all you pay. So, those are my favorite things about The Mac, but that isn't all they offer. Brushes, Cosmetic Bags (Best ever!), Mascara, Foundation, Bronzers, Powders, Fragrance, and a knowledgable friendly staff. They are not pushy and are always so helpful. Mac recycles and YOU benefit! Bring in 6 empty full size makeup containers (not samples) and they will reward you with a lipstick, lipgloss or eye shadow of your choice! This is no joke! I have been recycling here for years. Love this place because it's Convenient. Lots of selections and staff makeup is always on point. However there it's hard to get help because of the size of the staff. I normally leave out of this store with over $100 worth of products. They have colors for all skin tones and super affordable. If you want a duwie, matte or super glamour look come here to get your product needs I love their face cleansers as well as travel items. Also they have a program where you can safe your used products to get items such as lip sticks or eye shadow for free. You need just to save six items. read more

Although this store is relatively small, I am still able to look for and find what I need. I have been using MAC products for years so I usually have a good idea of what I want just maybe would like to try a different shade or something. The staff here is always able to help me find my shade and they do an amazing job with make up, techniques and selections. I was looking for a new red lipstick but had no idea which shade I wanted and the lady who was working was so patient and helped me try out at least 10 different shades. Although they were are very pretty, I didn't think any of them were for me and my style. I ended up going with a gloss but you could tell that the sales associate just wanted me to be happy in my selection. No pressure to buy products. The sales associates are very informative and will let you know why certain products are better for certain skin types. I appreciate their honesty. They also offer this awesome deal... I called MAC Sunday at noon they were able to fit me in last minute for full make up at 2pm for a wedding. Carlie was my makeup artist and she was fabulous. She asked me what I liked/didn't like and nailed it completely. I got compliments all day about how wonderful my makeup looked. read more

Went in today for one thing and ended up spending an hour looking at lipstick and eyeshadows with Jenny. She took the time to find what I was browsing at and made me laugh the entire time. I have used MAC for about 15 years now and she hands down was the best experience and she didn't even do my makeup. I will be going back again soon! read more

The Mac manager and employees at this location are rude. stare at you and don't care to help you. You can feel tension whem you walk in. This is the worst location I've ever been in. Hopefully the higher ups will see this post and make some changes. I go for service and product. But the mean girl mentality sucks. Walked in the store. Wasn't acknowledged by any associates. Started looking at paint pots and wasn't assisted so I started going through the drawers myself to find my shade. I couldn't find it, so I went to stand in line at checkout so they could help me (since they were obviously understaffed). I was cut off by at least two different girls who just walked up in line and interrupted versus waiting their turn. The associates made no efforts prioritize their customers who were waiting patiently for help. After waiting about 10 minutes, I left. Very helpful staff at this store..... When I came in there was only one salesgirl and she was very involved with a makeup application. But she excused herself and came over and helped me quickly without making me feel rushed and she answered my questions and corrected a color of Studio Fix I was going to purchase (out of habit) that was to light and I hadn't realized it on my own. Mac stores can sometimes be a little too hip and trendy, which can coincide with ATTITUDE.... But NOT this one! I will definitely go back for some more new makeup choices; as I always tend to buy the same old colors and products and I really think they enjoy turning people on to new and fresher looks! And MAC makeup is my favorite in quality and in the large variety of shades. I just moved back to Jacksonville from South Florida and it was my first time back in the Avenues Store and I was greeted by Jenny. She was an INCREDIBLE representation of your store. She was extremely knowledgeable, Found me a great alternative to the mineralized loose powder that was discontinued, helped me pick a new blush, and got me the few items I came in for. Her demeanor was so sweet, you could tell she really loved her job. I am a LOYAL MAC client and have been for years, and I'll be honest, she was one of the best I've seen. We all have our favorites in each store, the ones who know the product, great personality, passionate about makeup... that's Jenny. It felt like I was shopping with a friend. Had a GREAT experience with Jenny, very friendly honest advice, not just trying to push a sale. She spoke as soon as I entered the store which is soooo important, usually decides if I'll make a purchase or not. In fact, I bought mineral powder, left, came back and with her great assistance, purchased a great highlight powder which I've used EVERYDAY since I purchased it!! I actually went to this store right before Christmas, and was appalled at the "customer service" I received. Or rather, didn't. For the first time in my life, I felt discriminated against for the color of my skin. There were two sales girls working. One was helping a woman with a makeup application. The other was chatting in a corner with someone who was obviously her friend. Both women looked at me when I walked in, then went back to completely ignoring me. I said "Excuse me..." As I wanted some help getting the right foundation for my exceptionally pale skin, and the woman talking to a friend turned her back to me completely, and ignored what I said! The woman doing makeup just snorted and went right on applying. I didn't even get a "Just a moment!" Or anything! The testers were messy and gross, there was little bits of makeup powder sprinkled everywhere, so it was NOT clean. I ended up just leaving, completely disgusted with how I was treated. I thought that it might have just been the two women that were working, so I went back in a few days later, and nearly the same thing happened again! The two (different) women that were there this time just spoke with each other, briefly stopped and said "Do you know what you want?" I said I was looking for foundation and a brush, and they just went right on talking to each other, in the middle of my sentence! I would NEVER return to this store, nor would I recommend ANYONE to visit there. It's disgusting to feel like less than a person. Maybe MAC should hire some people who ARE NOT racist. read more
